Was a routine claim for most PL keepers imo, under minimal pressure. He just got it horribly wrong and it cost us a goal, again imo. He's more than capable of catching that fairly comfortably and stopping the danger at source but he decided to punch it and Wolves were attacking the box again 5 seconds later. I like Pope and he's been largely great but he was at fault tonight. If people are ok with how he dealt with that cross then fair enough

A different keeper comes for that, takes it cleanly and falls on the ball allowing his team to take 20 seconds to get their breath, composure and positions and nipping the danger in the bud immediately. Pope made the wrong decision and executed it poorly. It's not the end of the world but everything that happens in the following 20 seconds is because of his mistake. It's harsh but that's the level we're at.
  3. One of those tough situations where I'm sure he knew he should bring them off from a tiredness pov, he's not daft and he's got eyes. Certain he wanted to bring some players off but bringing off Trippier and Burn for Livramento and Hall is swapping 2 experienced players for 2 young players still finding their feet - away from home and under pressure. You gain their fitness and freshness but lose the experience and nous. He could have made the changes and we lost, I can understand why he left them on, he's paid to make the decisions and deserves the benefit of the doubt

Can see why keepers choose to punch the wet ball under pressure but that was just thick from Pope. Under no pressure at all and plays his own team directly into trouble. Absolutely thick
  5. Clever from Schar. Knew Hwang was going to hoof it and made sure he got his for on the way first. It's a pen, smart from Schar and thick from Hwang.
  6. Apart from when it's Klopp and Libpewl
  7. Think Spurs are riding a bit of a wave atm, lots of things going in their favour but they're in a bit of a false position imo. New manager bounce still in effect, nice set of fixtures, no European football and getting a few nice breaks in the games too. Still got to win the game and point sand they have been so far so it's fair enough but I don't think it's sustainable over 38 games. They'll still finish top 6 minimum but they'll regress a little and dip. Momentum is a big thing and once it goes it's really tough
  8. You can only play the hand you're dealt and unfortunately we've ended up being the ones who are on the shitty end of it. End of the day Tonali putting bets on have led to this and pointing fingers at Milan and the Italian FA are pretty pointless, understandable anger obviously, but they're just following through the process that Tonali had already started. If he'd kept his nose clean then none of this would have happened. That said I hope he uses his time away from games to get himself straight and ready to deliver in August '24. He needs and deserves support as our player now and he also needs to take his punishment on the chin, it's a pretty big deal. Fuck it, draw a line under it, move on and learn from it for the future
  9. Don't think there's a single team in the PL that would be intimidated by that Palace line-up tonight. There's no-one that would even come close to being a threat, it looks absolutely rank as an XI Home win.
  10. 'suicide watch'? Nah, just a bit disappointed. There's a difference
  11. Really really disappointed with that performance. Dortmund were smart and knew exactly what to do and how to play it (to be expected given their experience in Europe for the last god knows how many years). We showed a lot of inexperience in the game in general and couldn't figure them out yet still had 3 big moments which could easily have resulted in a goal. They looked in control for most of the game and they deserved to win, they took one of their chances and we didn't. We looked sloppy as fuck and thick as fuck too at times, we looked like the novices we are in Europe and their experience told in the end. Passing was poor, tempo was slow and we rarely threatened. They nullified us and ripped us on the counter, we were just beaten by a better, smarter team. We just need to put this in the lesson bank and learn from it as we'll have this situation again in the near future, similar to the Liverpool result. Learn from it, figure out what went wrong and be aware next time we're in this situation. This is why I was looking forward to watching this group - it's 6 tough fixtures and at the end of them all we'll end up a better, savvy intelligent unit. It's a loss tonight but we need to learn from the experience
  12. They're smart and good in possession, they pass the ball well and are cutting through the press too easily. This is another lesson about how to deal with different opposition and ways of playing and we need to either change it at HT to deal with it or get smarter pressing beyong the ball. We've been caught out by a single pass too many times that half, fucking learn from it
  13. Coming out of town a couple of hours ago and there was a Dortmund fan and his lass looking all excited on the metty. They got off at Gateshead Stadium... Probably knows exactly what he's doing but still had me thinking 'I wonder...'
  14. Can see them getting clobbered tbh. Whatever they decide is going to set a precedent for all other cases so nerfing the punishment opens the door for others to properly take the piss, ignore the rules completely and take the 12 point hit a few years after they've gone mad and spent wildly. Be lush if they impose 12 points and they go down by a point instead of Luton or someone like that
  15. Got out of jail massively against Wolves and Brentford too tbh

You only have to remember how they went on when they thought they had the faintest whiff of a cash injection from Dell. The delusion and arrogance clicked into overdrive, the graphs got produced, t-shirt got printed, the lot. You're seriously trying to tell me any of them would have rejected any Saudi cash on offer? Would have wolfed it down like a tramp with free chips
  17. Pulling an all-nighter and getting the first train back in the morning is clearly the way to go tbh. It's the chance of a lifetime
  18. Football365 touches on this a little in this article: https://www.football365.com/news/opinion-premier-league-tv-rights-deal-sky-sports-tnt-john-nicholson It's more about the product Sky et al are pumping out becoming less popular but it ties in
  19. Was going to mention this - has Karen Carney been binned permanently from MNF?
  20. Fuck it. Every cunt just go to bed. Unlocked in the morning
  21. I'm locking this shit in a minute like. Absolute drivel. Just grow the fuck up
  22. Yep. Crashed twice for no apparent reason, it's shit
