I doubt any of the major US channels would show it because nobody would be bothered, a bit like the NFL that's in London that 99% of England doesn't care about or even know is happening. Why do the friendly games attract so many fans? A Football match between say Man Utd and someone shitty... would sell out in USA in minutes. I'll fight the cause with you! Just like the NFL game in the UK having over 500,000 people interested in tickets. They could sell that place out twice over with relative ease if they sorted the ticketting fiasco out. He says 99% of people don't know the NFL thing is going on, but I think you'd do well to prove that statistic mate. I'm not saying its great for tradition, or that i'd want NUFC going over there, i'm just saying - it WOULD be a massive success and if Man Utd wanna fuck off for 1 game a season then go for it. My point precisely.

Got a horrible feeling about the game tbh.

How would they make a fortune? Americans don't care about football. They'd probably lose all the money they would make due to a large number of fans giving up on the sport if this happened anyway. Do you honestly think it would be played in an empty stadium? Do you think they'd attract more fans.....who would buy more merchandise and pay to see their new team play either online or via PPV? Wonder if they could sell the TV rights and have it broadcast...hmmmm.

Any clubs that did do it would make an absolute fortune tbh. For that reason alone I wouldn't rule it out in the future.

As you usually are, spot on. As I've said before, if MJ had been as good tactically as he was mediawise with the press, he would have been as good as Mourinho. But he never had the killer touch to press hiome an advantage. 2-0 up against the Scum kids in the Carling Cup semi finaland decided to go defensive, 3-1 up away against Chelsea in the FA Cup then replaced Berbatov with Mido because 'I'd promised Mido half an hour' is not the way forward. I still have doubts about Ramos, big doubts tbh especially after having watched Santini try to settle in, but there is no doubt Ramos is far more tactically astute than MJ ever will be. The Uefa Cup ties against Sevilla last season proved that totally. Although Ramos has now fallen out with Monchi (the DoF) over how the style of play should evolve for Sevilla, as you say Ramos is well used to working with a Sporting Director and apparently know each other pretty well and got on well when that infamous meeting took place. Ramos was Comolli's #1 choice and it seems he could be in place for the Carling Cup against Blackpool next week with Clive Allen and Alex Inglethorpe looking after training and the Blackburn game. Poyet is Ramos's choice for his assistant, not Spurs, I have no idea how they know each other or just how good a coach Poyet is, though I do know he was coaching the u12's and doing his badges when he was at Spurs. The encouraging thing I suppose is Ramos is very keen on fitness coaches, dieticians etc a la Wenger/Allardyce which MJ was never a great believer in. MJ was never going to stay beyond this season though, even if the top table hadn't been caught with their trousers down in Spain. Almost certain he will be taking over as Dutch national manager next summer when Van Basten moves on. I assume you'll be requiring a change of user name shortly?

His position was undermined back in August though. Two games in and they were smashing the panic button with a mallet. Things may have sorted themselves out if they hadn't done that and made it clear he was on borrowed time from the start. I agree with that, except that he deserves to be sacked for his poor work in the transfer window this summer. Everyone knew that his defence needed to be sorted out, and he didn't do it. He spent too much money on the players he brought in, and - with the exception of Bale - he didn't really add anything worthwhile to the club. I also agree with Wullie, but would point out that their transfer set up is a bit of a mess, and it is difficult to know who actually chooses the transfer targets. Watching SSN. Isn't Gary Stevens a total cock? Is he the former Everton fella? If that's him, then yes. That's Gary Steven. Blond lad.

It would be funny if the Ramos deal falls through and they end up with an average manager like Redknapp hope they dont get a manager like redknapp because hes quality Nah i dont rate Redknapp at all, He'll never be a top manager. He already is tbh. When was the last time you saw Portsmouth in the top 8?
-
you're missing my point. he's not as good now as he was. Correct. But he's still better than 95% of midfielders out there. 5 years ago he was untouchable. A superb player.

Old is the new new midds. Is it fuck. Locked.

If they win tonight and the weekend, string together some half decent results, he could last until Chrimbo. Nee stink without shite. He's gone.
-
Sacked whilst he's managing the game? Brilliant. That's exactly what I was thinking. Why leak it during a game? What harm would it do to release it later tonight? I now see what it was like looking in at how Freddy used to do things. Spurs need a new board (or not). They couldn't have handled the situation any worse! The whole thing just stinks tbh. They've made Jol's position untenable and I must admit I've got more than a scrap of sympathy for him.
-
Only a matter of time. He's lost the dressing room imo.

Pleat is one of those people I've got an irrational hatred for. He hasn't wronged me or insulted me but I just hate the twat. Probably because he's a kerb-crawler now I come to think of it.

Whats funny?? Count...

For the first time in my lifetime, we've actually got a back 4 I've got faith in. Beye and Enrique look like proper full backs and in Cacapa, Faye, Rozenhal and Taylor we've got a bit of strength in depth at centre half. They look calm and assured for most of the game and seem to be talking to each other. Makes a welcome change and, thankfully, Ramage will never kick a ball for this club again. He'll find his level eventually but it won't be at this club.

Looked a poor player on tonights 'performance'. Was scared stiff of Martins tbh.

Box office hours are 9am-5pm (Mon-Fri) and 9am-3pm (Sat). The Box Office telephone number is 0191 261 1571 I'm assuming they'll just stay open past 5pm so people can pick up tickets and sell any remaining free seats?

I think he's absolutely average tbh. He struggles to control the ball, can't pass it accurately more than 10 yards & can't head it for s***. He can't tackle, fails to bring others into the game and can't hold it up when it's pinged up to him. He is, however, fast as f*** when latching onto a through ball and can shoot very powerfully every now and again. I don't like you. Which bits do you disagree with? Well i disagree with the fact that you've pointed out these flaws, which you're not too wrong about (although i feel his flaws are majorly highlighted too much so) and with all these apparently obviouls fundamental flaws he's still managed to stick the ball in the back of the net 20 odd times (in his first season in a differnt league), that speaks mountains to me, there are many strikers out there who dont have any obvious weaknesses yet couldnt hit an elephants arse with a frying pan, why is he lambasted so much?? You've agreed with me yet still had a little dig! He isn't as good as you think he is. Sorry but it's the truth. He'll score goals but it doesn't make him a good footballer. He struggles badly with the rudiments of the sport and he flatters to deceive more often than not. He's just not that good tbh. I wish he was. But he's not.
