both bramble and taylor would look better in better defences,in teams that defended as a unit. it's an age old newcastle going back as far as pat howard that i can remember.
-
Fair point. But he has to have a little time don't you think ? The rest have had more than enough, and have been found wanting (to say the least) So far Gooch has been no worse, and that just starting off. yes he does need more games,i just thought your "gooch is one" was very definite. even then how can we gauge a defender with the way we defend as a team ?
-
How has he done a good job? Transfers - why did he completely ignore our most desperate requirements. Tactically - inept Substitutions - NOT PATTINSON YOU ARSE! Motivation - seemingly zero he didn't ignore them but was unable to get what he wanted/needed....unlike some previous managers who if they couldn't get the right one would just get anyone.right one or anyone, you decide ?
-
The only club he managed to "fight off" was us. The players going elsewhere, went - and for what was offered. He demanded 3 times what the player was worth to us, then off the player went elsewhere for a fraction of what he demanded of us. (Steed whatsits for example) I'd prefer to keep Roeder than that tosser. Isn't this what we were screaming at Roeder at BOTH transfer deadlines ? Gooch is one - we needed 4 times as many. Bring in Houllier. what have you seen from onyewu to think he is better than what we already have ?

we'll beat charlton with a strong defensive performance.......the newcastle way,do it when it counts for nowt!

Great post! I agree that all the defenders were s*** last night, but just look at the facts. Bramble was partly at fault for the first goal, trying to play an offside in an unbelievable position. It was one of the worst examples I have ever seen of somebody trying to play an offside trap, without even looking along the line first. For the second, all the blame has to go to Bramble for totally losing his man. He doesnt have the quickness of thought to be able to sort this fault out ion his game. Add the that the stupid lunge near the edge of the box in the first half that could have led to a dangerous free kick. Thankfully the ref played advantage and it only came to a corner. The ref had a word with Bramble at the time, but had it given a free kick he would have been booked. Then one of the stupidest challenges I have seen him make for his booking. There is no need to lunge n like an idiot when a player is on the wing like that. He came from quite far back to lunge in and should have stayed on his feet and stopped the player getting anywhere. FFS, this is one of the first things a defender should learn! Dont dive in! Add to that the other lapses of concentration he had all night. If this man gets a new contract it will be a total disgrace! true, but becuase his mistakes cost the goals does that mean he played worse than taylor...the only difference was they didn't score from taylors errors(averladze off the bar, koevermans round the keeper)...or if a player makes 1 mistake and they score and another makes 10 they don't score from ,has player 1 palyed worse cos his mistake was the goal. as for stupid challenges, bramble could mitigate he went for the ball, albeit wildly...taylors elbow on the other hand. yes bramble was very bad last night,no worse than the others.

how about a bonus point when the aggreagte score is arrived at..ie nufc beat mcfc 1-0 on in a couple of weeks,we get 3pts....we got the 1 pont from the draw at eastlands,we also get a bonus point for winning on aggregate.means teams may not throw the towel in so easy and even at 3-0 down there could be something worth going for.
-
he does and does it well.can't stand the station and thats how it works.
-
why would teams have togo for a win..the teams that now hold out for a draw will hold out for a win on pens or whatever.
-
if he got theirs aswell would it count towrads my 80/1 hat trick ?
-
but we want the AZ defenders who played over here to play over there.
-
Have you seen the passionless cunts lately? always quite passionless when in a magazine. oh,you mean something else.
-
rumour is the century management wouldn't let him become "erica" after the surgery.
-
got a fiver on a martins hat-trick at 80/1 so i'm looking for uncle Joe's idea in Budapest to come through..ie get one and they'll fold. toon 3-2 win
-
Chelsea beat us easily, they didn't get out of 2nd gear and we didn't have a shot on target until their was only 10 seconds of injury time left, but Pearce will probably survive due to the attitude shown by the players and the support. I thought we were s*** again tho, too negative and too direct. We wont score another goal all season playing like this the worse you play ,the better the chance you have when you come up here.
-
wide right,but not a winger,ljungberg style.
-
didn't he have the choice of valencia before coming here
-
80/1 on blue sq
-
That i don't remember. What was it? Also, world cup single/doubles was called 'world cup willy' round my way. f*** knows why! cock or hen was when a couple turned up late for a kickabout,to decide who went on which team.
-
kieron,i'm pleased you've come back to fitness and a bit of form, but SHUT THE FUCK UP!
-
young kids today with "in nets" instead of "in goal",really winds me up....anyway for nostalgia faves.....rush keeper,3 pots in,heads and vollies, world cup singles, world cup doubles, cock or hen.
-
away from home....hey jude.
-
typical me to be awkward...i'm quite indifferent to him
-
which bookies ? i notice bet 365(through oddschecker) have shola at 2/1 anytime scorer in that match
-
the fish would have finished that chance
