  1. Right now including injuries: --------------Given-------------- Geremi-Taylor-Rozy-Enrique Milner--Butt--Smith--Zoggy -------Owen--Martins-------
  2. 12 striker includes his first name if that helps. He wasn't very good. One of the CB's was French, LB was used all over the back 4 but not usually at left back. Got the french one (so i need the other 1), just twigged on the LB, but the striker stills escapes me. Why add his 1st name? From Croatia. Right, i see.

  4. Can't get one of the CB's, the LB & the 12 striker.

Went for 'Don't care' would of liked a 'hate them both' option.
  6. It would be my choice. Viduka hasn't done enough to warrant keeping Martins out of the team. Might not be the perfect physical combo, but with Viduka looking like a 40 year old, neither is having him playing with Owen, which is obviously SA preferred starting line up. PS: Removed the other vote as you never get anyone following through with the please state, lazy cunts.
  7. With SA branding Martins as a 'squad player' and commenting that Martins may become unhappy with his role (and rightly so since the fat man is starting ahead of him) do you think its the right way to go, or is there a better pairing up front for you?
  8. There you go again being a sad stalker.
  9. Really good game. The prem gets better every year, this 2 seasons ago was a match to avoid at all costs.
  10. He a decent standard Premiership defender, he's nothing special though. About my opinion of him as well. Is this as far as people think Taylor will go? I've got a lot more hope than that for him, i'd be saddened to think thats the limit of his ability. I don't see any outstanding attributes in his game to make me think different at the moment. People on here can try and re write history and make out the likes of Woodgate, Ferdinand and Terry were nothing special at 21 but all of them were far better than Taylor is now, I'd compare those three at 21 to the ability shown by Micah Richards, you just knew they would all go on to be excellent players. Carragher's a strange one, he was rather average for years but suddenly turned into a top defender which gives me hope Taylor might turn out the same, players don't do that very often though. Carragher's ability was some what held back due to him playing RB until about 24, he flourished in his natural position of CB when played there. He really was an average player for years at RB. Taylor hindrance is simply the lack of quality in coaches and players to learn from. Richards is a cut above, but mainly due to his burst of pace being able to rescue him from sticky situations, take that away and for me he's about the same level as Taylor. But Richards is about the only English defender in that age bracket i'd happily swap Taylor for. But you are right about Terry, Rio & Woody, they were much better than Taylor at this age, but none of them were flawless, in fact Rio has been the same player for about the last 7 seasons and still makes the same mistakes as he was doing back then. Terry is immense, Woodys just crocked and could of been as big as them two easily if it wasn't for injuries. Taylor won't reach that level, but i see him somewhere not far off, Carragher would be a good example of where he could go in his career, there's nothing to suggest why he couldn't be as good as him, and if he were to reach that level, i'd be very happy for him. But Richards does have that pace, it may seem unfair that two players can be so far apart in terms of ability because one can run fast but it really is an important part of modern day football, I can see Richards going on to be a Gallas type defender. Back to Taylor, we'd be stupid to get rid of him but at the same time he isn't worth £30k pw at the moment, the problem the club will have if they buckle to his wage demands this time is that everyone will try and do the same, the club are in a tricky position because of the over inflated wages they've paid in the past and if they want to have any chance of bringing in a sensible wage structure then they can't be seen to be paying huge sums to squad players in future. In total agreement. The club need to put the past financial mistakes behind them, and leaving them in the past where they belong, i'd even go so far as to sacrificing Taylor or any player we have to uphold the new wage structure, if thats what we are actually doing. But when Babayaro is on over 3 times as much money as you, its a hard fuking pill to swallow, i'm pissed off for the lad nevermind Taylor himself. If players like Babayaro, carr and even Butt were not on the books bringing in huge amounts of cash then Taylor would just have to lump it, fact is, they are, and Taylor knows he's more valuable to the club, and to other clubs than any of those players and wants the money to show it. I still think it will all settle down, Given's had bigger kick offs than this when it comes to contract negotiating time. From threatening to leave if signings weren't made or handing in his transfer request as Harpers had 5-6 games in a row, but no one really got on his back and it always sorted itself out.

  13. blueyes.gif I said at the start of the season it would just be like Arsenal and Wenger to go and win the league with everyone stupidly writing them off and saying they won't even make the top 4. Well if you did, then i'd have thought you were mad, i still think you are slightly jumping the gun a little, and all thats happened is they've had a good start, lucky at times. A lot of season left, i very much doubt Arsenal will win the league, although i wouldn't mind it in the slightest.
  14. Do people actually rate Upson? Take away the injuries, do people think he's a good, solid defender?
  15. Karma once again wins the day. Heskey flying in on players and trying to take out goalkeepers = Just as people think he played well for England he breaks his foot. Ha fuking ha you dirty scumbag arsehole.
  16. How many of them are new? And is 'Craig Russell', the same lad that used to play for the mackems? Aye. Round, Taylor and Russell are new, Bobby Saxton has rejoined the club after he left Sunderland after falling out with Quinn. Sick of being sent to scout in Ireland?
  17. We need more 1st team coaches.
  18. If that's the case, and its a big 'IF' then i'd have no problems for him to be shipped out in January. I'm one of the lads biggest fans, but my club is more important than his ego and pay packet. But i feel the whole thing has been blown out of proportion. Yes his father should of kept his mouth shut, and SA has every right to be annoyed with that, look at the situation its caused for starters, anymore ill advised actions by the Taylor camp should be treated with stern actions, if that means booting him out then so be it. It would be his own fault if he makes more of this than he should, which his father already has.
  19. Arsenal's unbeaten team consisted of a some magical players, who had spent many years in the EPL plying their trade, alongside some good British talent. Why is it that Henry is held in such high regards at Pompy? Because he went 150% at them and murdered them, a promoted team, shite ground, easy win, but he never let up. Can't see Torres being that player, not yet anyway. Alonso compared to Veiria?!?! You see what i'm getting at. Its the mentality as much as the nationality, but i guess you are not getting that and only see what i'm saying in one dimension, or face value. Garcia was a prime example of the problems Liverpool were having with the league, i thought Rafa was wising up, but he's still not got it right for me, and wont with the squad he currently has, and its a shame as his two best players, English incidentally, are about to peak, and he needs to use that peak if not he's failed. Liverpool are full of players who'd best games are coming on the continent, an or have just come to the league, that's why i said they are too foreign.
  20. Bull. When Arsenal were in the middle of their unbeaten season, did you ever think their team was 'too foreign'? Edit - Do you think Arsenal's table-topping side at this moment of time is 'too foreign'? Is it getting to be an offence now to mention the "foreign" word, or something? Nowt personal mate, but I think you've latched onto this single part of what TT has written and it's blinding you to the point he's really trying to make. He does have a point, you know. Benitez has brought in a lot of players, most foreign. Some have probably never heard of Portsmouth. No matter that they think they're at 100%, it only takes that slight lowering of standard due to what they think (or don't think) of the opposition due to ignorance and they will fall flat. It happened today and it'll happen again for them and I hope it happens all the time, tbh. It does take time for foreign players to make the adjustment and it's not just the pace of the game here, it's keeping on top of their game when they go to the so-called unfashionable places like Portsmouth, Wigan etc etc. They may think they are mentally right, but sometimes they are not. That's very true HTL, but this is down to Benitez to solve this problem. Wenger does (and did) fine with his French players. It's not 'foreign' that's the problem, it's the ability to motivate these players. I don't think TT is trying to make the same point you are though, he's implying just because Rafa is foreign he underrates the Premiership, and I disagree with that because there have been many other foreign managers who have been successful in England. 'games like Pompy pass them by as the big names cant rise for the smaller occasions' Did you miss that part in your mad blindness because you were so hell bent on having a pop as i mentioned the word foreign? You really are just arguing for arguing sake, and looking very stupid in the process, well done.
  21. Wow, Wigan were once top this season as well, making your point invalid. Top 4 for Arsenal? Shouldn't they be pushing on further than that? But thats not what is holding them back, a out and out striker and youth is currently stopping them mount a realistic title challenge. For Liverpool its totally different or have you forgot that this is what this thread is about?
  22. Bull. When Arsenal were in the middle of their unbeaten season, did you ever think their team was 'too foreign'? Edit - Do you think Arsenal's table-topping side at this moment of time is 'too foreign'? Table topping? mackems.gif Come back and say that when its May.
  23. People who enter them. What a stupid question... It's annoying though, if you want to chat constantly about it there's a thread for it. Its what makes 'today's games' interesting to people who don't support the teams playing. I could understand if other threads were littered with people talking about it, but considering the thread and what its about its hardly surprising that people are talking about their dream teams is it?
