Hmm. Un-afraid to say that those comments backfired monumentally so. Not really, you've done us all a huge favour and i personally think you should be knighted. Now do you think Dyer will still be here next season?
-
Wasn't GR looking at him in the winter window? Not impressed with any player coming from a soft French league ATM. There are rumours that Ujfalusi is looking to move on from Fiorentina, i'd rather have a little look at the possibility of signing him.

Anyone who pays the full £5.5m release clause in Bartons contract is a mug. I hope its not us, £4m max bid with possibly an option to top up the £1.5m with appearances or if he doesn't go to jail in the 1st 3 years.

Everyone's a winner. Will probably become the player we all thought he was going to be, then again, he could just fall into the pits of football hell which is Aston Villa. If there is one team worse than us for killing off careers its them.
-
Oh dear. Picked up on that myself, didn't know if I was being too petty or not! Hahaha You're then. Give a shit, yous knew what I meant. Anyways, why do you all give a shit what Sunderland do or don't do? Know your enemy, why else? Were not obsessed like they are with us, we just like to keep an eye on what they're doing. Go to RTG and when something major happens in Toonland, they have more threads on it than us, seriously, they are like old women talking about the NHS, buses or some other major event in life that bothers them.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premiership/arsenal/article1811322.ece One of the most credible sports sites on the net said that Arsenal have £40 million to spend. But i dont feel Arsenal will be after a striker in the summer! (Especially Owen). Although i did see it once reported that Arsenal and England Physio Gary Lewin had been reporting back to Wenger about his injury status! And yet: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premiership/article1863879.ece So on May 19th, The Times says that Arsenal have £40m to spend. 12 days later, the same paper says that Arsenal have £15m to spend. Is it any wonder that people don't believe the press? And today: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premiership/arsenal/article1867947.ece Arsenal are skint. Official, The Times finally catches up with Toon's Taylor.

two good signings if you ask me. if we get ben haim it will be a great start. still think we need to sign a big name to signal our intentions Baines, Ben Haim, Barton, Viduka & Boateng for about £11m is a great start. £30m on top of that would be magic, if were wanting more then anothe CB a top-class RB and a right winger would all that would be needed really, unless we spend a big part of it on a playmaker while selling Dyer & Emre.

Second string in trophy winning teams, they still get the medals.
-
wow. they had a fantastic team back then. Too bad its not like that anymore fantastic team that got themselves relegated, and now only Ferdinand can say he has gone on to better things Smith at Manu Dacourt back to Italy Kewell to Liverpool and winning the CL

Agreed, like a better version of Faye tbh. Breaks up play and gets about well but a very limited player. Honestly think that's harsh on the lad, he's a much better player than that. Looks good for Liverpool at times because he has a very basic role, namely to win the ball in midfield. Meanwhile Alonso alongside him has the task of passing it from the middle, while at the same time playing as a ballwinner in midfield himself. They play with two holding midfielders for the most part, think its easier to look good for him in a system like that. His touch can be a shambles at times too. Hit n miss, but enough talent to be able to sort that out. I think he'd be a great option to have, i've also just found out Lucas has signed for Liverpool from Gremio, deal to take effect in 2008, fuking tits, dubbed the Brazilian Gerrard, when on earth did they sneak that one in?
-
Aye he's a great destroyer but can't pass very well and we give the ball away enough as it is. I'd prefer another African. We need a big African in the middle. :parky:

If the shoulder is a concern i think Liverpool would be more proactive in trying to sell him. I think Rafa wants to keep him but 1st team football is important to him and with the technically better Mascherano coming in maybe Rafa could let him go if the price is right.
-
He's good, best young DMC adapted to the EPL i can think of, dity fuker though. Less of a gamble than going abroad and digging out another Amdy Faye.
-
Did he play CL football for Celtic?
-
Diop keeps getting injured, finished as a top class palyer now imo, should of cashed in on him when they received a £7-9m bid from Arsenal. But that mould would be great. Should spend the £7-8m from Parker plus a bit extra to get Sissoko if Liverpool are serious about selling, if so i'd be deadly serious about buying.
-
I never thought Woody could and he did! Dyer could pass a medical ATM, time to move him on.
-
Duff is injured till November, i say a quick change to Dyer is in order.
-
Bunch of fuking arseholes aren't they?

Partly, that injury had a series of knock on effects that wouldn't of happened. The original point made by T27 was GR was in part to blame for the Owen release clause, whereas i'm saying Owen himself is more to blame than GR and is as equal as the daft c*** that put it in in the 1st place. I agree with you on that point, mate. GR is not to blame for being an average manager thrown into an impossible position. He didn't even sign Owen, FFS. The release clause is Soumess/Fred's/Owen's cuntish work. Spot on. So the clause is triggered due to Owen being injured all season and us not having enough upfront to pick up the points to qualify for Europe. So the fuker wants to fuk off at the 1st opportunity. This is why am fuked off with Owen, he's a cunt.

More Owen's fault for going to the WC unfit and endangering his career. Name one football fan in the world who would not play in the World Cup despite being passed as fit by both club and country doctors. He wasn't match fit and was why he came away with an injury, it doesn't matter if he was right to go, he wasn't fit, it didn't pay off, and he and the FA are partly responsible for where we've finished in the league and therefore responsible for us not having Europe and why he's in the position of leaving. So you seriously think he would have said no to going to Germany on account of not being 100% match-fit? He should of, hindsight or not he wsn't fit, he hadn't even played a game of football for us since Dec 2005, throughout his ENTIRE career Owen has been known for taking at least 3 matches to get fit and amongst the goals, this alone should of made him realise he was going to be a hindrance rather than an asset at the finals. It was a risk him going, fair enough... but it's the World Cup we're talking about. He was passed fit. Imagine if you were passed fit, but decided not to play, and then went on to see your teammates lift the trophy? You seriously think he'd have passed that up just to guarantee he would be OK for us (and who is to say he wouldn't have been injured in the Intertoto or in a friendly for us, or even training?)? True, but the point being he is more to blame for the current situation of him leaving for a CL club than GR and i firmly believe that. I can see where you are coming from, but as James said, if Roeder was a better manager perhaps we would have been a CL club ourselves this coming season. Shearer retiring, and your £17m striker out injured as the FA abused him in the summer, then your budget blown on a gamble that just about worked out in terms of goals, pretty much difficult for any manager to deal with. If SA had been here at the start of last season he wouldn't of bought Martins, but do you think GR had any other choice than buying star studded player Damien Duff then the rest of his budget on Martins? FS had decided what the club 'needed' and that was it. GR was just a puppet for a year, now FS has had to allow a manager with a plan in as his didn't work.

Lets put this differently... If Steven Taylor got injured at the World Cup when playing when not fully fit, missed almost an entire season, then activated a release clause to join a top 4 side, would you blame him? I'd shoot him tbh.
