As far as I know, there is not another profession in the world other than sportsman where you wear a uniform displaying other brands unassociated with the organisation you work for and are photographed and videoed wearing this uniform, and having this seen by millions of people across the world. So comparisons to average joes wearing uniforms for run of the mill companies does not mean a shit.

Beliefs have a moral code, and people practice their faith by following that moral code. Individuals may have different interpretations, but this is Cisse's interpretation. Making him doing something against this moral code is an attempt to prevent him from practicing his faith via his own interpretation.

I don't think the club can even agree whether to bid for Bent to be honest. You would have expected a derogotary bid by now the way this club works.
-
Spot on. A vocal minority of posters on here are sounding like EDL members in my opinion. Cisse is entitled to his beliefs, and has the human right to say no to anything that affects his ability to practice his faith. The real minefield, is having established that right can he still play for us in his terms, or does the club have the right to suspend him until they can make the sale?

I think some sort of tribunal needs to be set up by the PFA and Premier League, with the matter kept out of our own hands. As for us the fans, I think it is time for an active protest against payday loan sponsorship. The means for doing so is simple, petition the government.

I have heard that our transfer decisions are played out in a game of tug of war. A photo of a player is stuck in the middle of the rope and the various stakeholders choose what side to go on. The team that gets the player over their line wins the decision. Therefore getting someone over the line is literally getting someone over the line.

I'm starting to think that there is some preordained destiny of Bent coming here, ever since he turned down Sir Bobby Robson. It his like he was always meant to be here. Perhaps this destiny is that he will score the winner in the FA Cup Final.

As far as I know we have never been in for Fer, this has been a Everton scouted player whom is widely known for that deal falling through. Hughton had signed Carlos Nash FFS.
-
We absolutely can not allow this to happen. Where is the respect for the alleged victim? Would Pardew be happy if he was in the victim's father's shoes?
-
We shouldn't touch him unless he is cleared. A very public insult to his alleged victim otherwise, and not the message we should give.
-
It will be like when we sold Aaron Hughes. This is foolish.
-
Ryde should do these kind of interviews more often to be honest. Much better than the lazy speculation usually published. I'd like to read reflections from Clarence Acuna about his time here for example. However Owen is a boring and lazy choice of interview.

On Betfair I've got Man Utd QPR Wolves Portsmouth Barcelona Juventus Monaco 4692/1 Placed a 10 bet for all but also a few pennies on 6 way and trebles to hopefully cover some of that.
-
Thought he'd do better than that to be honest. He has ended even further back in career terms than when he signed for us. Great signing for QPR but I think he's made a bad decision.
-
Dare I say it, but the way people have described him, could he have been worth a try in the number 10 position when we were struggling for goals last season?

Kinnear announces new signing: Me and Pards have got a Boner
-
I've said this before and I will say it again, the Premier League and PFA need to get a proper grip on driving offences. Large fines or match suspensions. Look at the drop in players suddenly getting done for driving offences.

Last week the club seemed relatively stable, perhaps we weren't happy with everything Llambias and Pardew were doing but at least they had been keeping us really stable for a few years, which is looking more and more impressive given what they had to deal with. Now it is implosion time.

I also don't think Kinnear will manage us again. We have had 4 years with countless opportunities to bring him back but we didn't The position he holds is still scary though. I think if Pardew can hang in there a bit longer, he is actually someone capable of showing the board how bad and out of control Kinnear really is. The best way we can help this club right now is support Pardew, and help him rid us of the ghost of Kinnear once and for all.
-
Glenn Roeder would have been an interesting choice - represented the club as player, captain, academy coach and manager, and although was never management material has a good understanding of the game, supportive of youth coaching, and not such a forceful personality in that he would obstruct Carr and the manager in their work.
-
Say the club decided it needed a Director of Football, who would you choose? I know for a fact that whoever gets posted on here will show the fans would get someone better than that joke.

Lee Harvey Oswald shot the wrong JFK.

When I was studying at Leeds in 2009, I met a friend of Tim Krul who told me that in January Kinnear instructed the club to sell Krul to one of the interested parties for 1.5 million. This transfer was overruled by Dennis Wise of all People and went to the board to stop the transfer going ahead. Now Kinnear is Director of Football, and from his own mouth can sell any player he wants.
