  1. He's exactly the sort of signing we need to be making and I would be very happy with this but I find something a bit suspicious about the timing of this signing. Maybe I'm reading too much into this like but its crossed my mind that he's been brought in very quickly after the alleged bid for Duff. Is this Duffs replacement (with R.Taylor moving to right wing) rather than an addition to the squad to make it stronger?
  2. Lets hope an offer doesn't come in for Jonas before Saturday or we could have Geremi and Lua Lua on the wings
  3. His competition for Ireland is Stephen Hunt and Aidan McGeady so his spot isn't guaranteed me thinks. He isn't capable of performing to a high level in the Premiership anymore though. Surely having a good season for us with a few goals and assists would do a lot more good for him than him struggling in a relegation battle (assuming its a bottom 5 team who want him).
  4. I just can't see why any more players would be allowed to be sold unless Ashley is definitely 100% leaving. If he's planning to stay then surely he knows there isnt enough time to replace all of these players now. The only logical reason I can see is that it would help the sale. If Ashley stays and he sells more players then we are gonna really struggle and the value of the club will go down even more.
  5. I'm not sure if he will want to leave actually unless its an established Premiership team. He is on very good money here and he doesn't need to be playing in the Premiership to get in the Ireland team. He seems happy enough here as well
  6. Mixed feelings about this one. £4m is a very good price for him and it would be a huge help to the wage bill. On the other hand the squad is far too thin and we don't look like replacing anyone at the minute. The worry is that its very likely that Jonas will leave so if we let both of them go that leaves us with no wingers
  7. Can't find the interview anywhere. What did Daveed say? Not a particular interview, he's been on tv a few times last season talking on programs. He surprised me. Went up a lot in my estimation.
  8. I actually really like listening to Ginola from what I've seen of him on TV recently. He talks a lot of sense and with a real passion.
  9. My mates just text me saying Ossie Ardiles wants the job They've just been discussing it on the Legends so something must have been said (unles he's took it from listening to the Legends) As if
  10. They probably will finish around 10th I think. You don't even need a great team to finish 7th, 8th, 9th really. If we had stopped up we could have bought a few players in like that and we would have been back in the right half of the table as well.
  11. Malbranque's a good player still. Doesnt really score many goals these days though
  12. Wheres the goals coming from in that midfield? Richardson and? Richardson?
  13. It would be fucking great if we could get ourselves back up quickly and have a comfortable wage bill for the first time in god knows how many years. Such a fucking disgrace that any business we might do incoming is going to be done at the very last minute. Just trying to be positive like but it would be/have been a sort of blessing in disguise if we could have got rid of all of the huge earners and brought in players on a more manageable salary who can actually play together on the pitch and produce results.
  14. Is the England match on telly the neet?
  15. To the tune of I Am The Resurrection by The Stone Roses (aimed towards fat Ashley) Down Down, you took us down I see you fucking up our club and I can't sleep at night Your face it has no place No room for you inside our club we want you out of here Don't waste your words we don't need anything from you We don't care what you say or what you plan to do Leave leave, we wish you'd leave We're sick of the bullshit we've had enough you clueless twat Cut loose, you're no use We couldn't stand another second in your company Don't waste your words we don't need anything from you We don't care what you say or what you plan to do Stone me what can't you see You're a no-one nowhere washed up you're worse than Fred Your brain is far too small We don't like the way you've killed this once great club Don't waste your words we don't need anything from you We don't care what you say or what you plan to do You are a fucking failure and we want you out We couldn't ever bring ourselves to forgive you for your lies (Followed by lots of drunk dancing and humming for the epic ending to the song)
  16. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11695_5485067,00.html Heap of shit really. The only team he might walk straight into out of them lot is Hull maybe imo. Some might argue why he wouldn't move on to one of them clubs to be second choice if he's gonna be second choice here, but after having a taste of the action of Saturday I think he'll realise he has a hell of a chance here. Portsmouth can't afford him and we won't sell to Sunderland.

    Jonas Gutierrez

Well for one he got more than one assist last season. The only alternatives are R.Taylor and Guthrie. Them two have a better delivery than him, but they don't have any pace or have much ability to take on a full back. If we lose Jonas and use one of them two as a winger then we losing the unique things Jonas does have compared to most of the other players (pace, ability to beat players, ability to stretch teams), and we are swapping it for a make shift winger who won't open up teams at all going foward. Lua Lua is not an option either despite what some people seem to think. The lad is only young and apart from the fact that he will not be ready for a 46+ match season, he will also proably only give us what Jonas gives us but less consistently. I haven't seen much of him, but from what I hear he is quick with an ability to beat players, but his end product is lacking. He's only young and that can be worked on, but he's certainly not the answer short term. Its simple really. Buy a replacement or keep Jonas. We have nobody at this club who can come in for Jonas and make us a better team in his position.
  18. No way will Shola be dropped for Ranger. If we're gonna be realistic then I think we'll be unchanged. Hughton was gonna pick 1 up front against West Brom by the looks of it, but that would be very negative at home like. Id love us to be positive and play Ranger and Carroll up front but it just wont happen. Even bringing in Barton for Nolan and Lua Lua for Ameobi (with Duff alongside Carroll) would be a bit more positive.

Unless we can get someone cheaper in who has the ability to beat players and make a bit of space then we need to keep him. Its frustrating as hell when he does the hard bit but fails to deliver the final ball but as it stands we have no alternative. I'd be happy for him to leave if we can find a pacey winger to replace him but if not then we need to keep him. I reckon he might end up with a fair few assists this season if we keep him. He obviously can't cross for shit, but just with his ability to beat players I think he will open up a fair few of the poor defences in this division and if he's got someone like Barton (and hopefully a new striker) pushing on then then he will find them a lot more times than he would have least season against Premiership defences. He was guilty of failing to deliver again on Saturday but the lack of options in the middle was disgraceful. Lets face it, if we sell him and don't buy a winger then its gonna be Ryan Taylor or Guthrie on the right.
  20. I'll take a lot of pleasure looking at Phil Browns orange head when they are relegated next season.
