    Gary Speed

This, although he is already under contract as a coach at Sheffield United. Swansea might well be calling.
  3. Vinnie Mac is worth about $600million, so I sent WWE an e-mail in my boredom, suggesting it would be a good idea to buy us out. How sad am I? I don't know who follows American sports, but there was recently a bit of a slanging match between him and Arsenal's Stan Kroenke......it'd be a good way to get revenge. However, I don't know his relationship with Hicks, Gillett, Lerner, the Glazers etc. Anything to get rid of Fat Mike. Maybe he could join McMahon's "Kiss my Ass Club"! No Chance!
  4. one of several investors interested, so not getting my hopes up. we wont be any clearer this time next week, maybe even the week after. These guys have been floating around interested in football clubs for a while now, strange they havent taken a club over already. Mcmahon denies interest in toon http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2008/aug/07/newcastleunited.premierleague
  5. First players to be sold by the end of the week: Habib Beye and Bassong, followed by Enrique, Martins, Taylor and Jonas. Owen, Viduka, lovenkrands are released, Guthrie, Nolan, Smith, Geremi, Butt, Barton, duff all leave for nominal fees and Collocini is loaned out with a view to a 2m deal. Shearer walks away. The Club re-appoints Joe Kinnear to "steady the ship" until the new ownership is completed, followed by Kinnear hinting at a return of club idol shearer under new owners imminently. We sign Nicky Barmby, ugo ehiogu, danny shittu and Gary Speed. Robbie Earle, mick harford and Dean Holdsworth make a suprise appearance at the first day of pre-season training, they are announced as our new assitant manager and first team coaches. Kinnear says he is in great health, the team is in great spirits and he wants the job full time, if Shearer doesnt return. Shearer takes a job with Southampton, who invest 20m in their league two club under new ownership. August rolls on and Ashley takes the club off the market and reiterates his desire to make things right. We sign Craig Beattie for 5m on a last day scramble before the window closes. The press claim Shearer will finally take over and have a war chest in January of 40m. Ashley makes a statement saying mistakes were made, we should have bid for James Beattie. Shearer remains unbeaten through to christmas, we draw 12 games and lose 5, Languishing in the relegation zone in the championship Kinnear leaves his post for health reasons. Bill Murray is said to be a huge fan of the club and with the backing of big American investors will bid to takeover the club - Daily Star Next week Bob Murray is announced to have bid for majority shares in the club, ashley sells up but remains on the board. Murray appoints Peter Reid assisted by Don Hutchinson, Harford and Holdsworth remain on. We sign kevin phillips and win all of our remaining games under Peter Reid, excepting our FA cup spanking by Southampton, who shock us at home 6-0, on the up side we sneak into the playoffs and win promotion. Our season 2010/11 home shirt is revealed as red and white stripes... It can get worse.
  6. This. Martins has time to improve still, he is a world class striker when he wants to be, getting him to do it more than once every ten games is the problem. Owen isnt getting any better and his pace/ability is shrinking faster than miss pepperpot. Neither are staying though, so its a moot point. They both offered too little this season to get hung over about. World class striker sorry but He has all the ability and skills to be one, he just needs decent coaching and application, the latter being the biggest problem.
  7. Add Guthrie to that list and I'm with you, but be realistic man, we would be lucky to keep one of them let alone all. Bassong and Oba are saleable assets, even if we dont want to sell them there are little guarentees they will stay if an offer comes along.

  9. He will be off, just trying to make nice before he leaves. There is no way he will take the pay cut needed for us to keep him. Not to mention the fact that other than Bassong he is one of the only players we have that we could possibly sell for upwards of 4m. Martins is a luxury we wont be able to afford.
  10. I'm speechless, what a complete shambles.
  11. He can't expect them to be appointing him before any takeover is complete. Maybe not, but I don't expect him to(although he might) wait around until that point, when the majority of potential targets have been missed and preparations are weeks behind, reducing the chances of him steering us back to the premiership. We don't like doing things the easy way here.
  12. it'll be f***ing shocking, man. f***ing shocking would be a vast improvement on the shower of s**** we have seen this year.
  13. Can see Shearer walking away tmrw if he doesnt get the answer he wants. I dont blame him either. If we wait any longer to sort this managerial situation out we will lose all the ground on trying to bring decent players in, not to mention carting people out so we can do the former. He has said it before he will only take the job if he thinks he has a good chance at doing well. Just over 3 weeks until Pre Season starts. As of now it doesnt look like we can appoint a manager until those 3 weeks have passed.
  14. Not in the slightest bit optimistic right now, infact as of now I can only see things getting worse. But alot can change over the next few days/weeks. We still have time to redeem ourselves, worryingly though I would have said the same all the way through last season. Hope and Newcastle are always intertwined but generally never rewarding.

    Jonas Gutierrez

You know he will score first game for Spuds and the mask will come out. Bloody typical.
  16. I bet you wouldn't Depends what he has in his pocket, could be a used condom, a conker and some polos. Lover lover might like that kind of an arrangement.
  17. Unveiled tmrw, great news for wigan, potential gamble for martinez if whelan is tight fisted. great news for us though. another championship side needing a manager.
  18. Think so too. Although ominous for the future of Beye? No reason why we wouldnt keep him and move him as the experienced CB we need though, he is quite adept at both positions.
  19. How can you have a thread like this without opening with the words Redknapp and cunt? There are unfortunately more of the disloyal ones out there than not these days.
  20. Bastards, they can get t' fuck he's going nowhere!
  21. toontownman

    Joey Barton

He really does need help if he thinks he might be welcome back. I would back him if the new manager does, but he has long since run out of chances. If your so dedicated to getting back on the right track, how about proving it by taking a pay cut.
  22. That said, its Simpson we have been linked to not Gibson.. would take them both though.
  23. Think I'm going to go Ketsbaia. Albert is tempting though!
  24. Agree with both the above two posts?
