  1. They are talking about putting N'Zog in the centre with Guthrie anyway. If that does happen though I would expect Jonas to stay out Right with Duff on the left. They have been alternating through the game, they need to mix it up more regularly though imo.
  2. Not convinced by Riise, would be more than happy to get him in IF Enrique is staying though. Enrique needs competition and Riise can fit into midfield if Enrique ever settles in or we really need him. Its well past the stage where I care as much about who comes in, as long as we dont end up with a smaller squad again when the window closes.
  3. Personally I think the whole squad should go with it for the game tmrw. Spanners would never be able to get focussed.
  4. Looks like Carrol has adpoted the "If I look like Nile Ranger, I might score like Nile Ranger" theory. Probably the worst hair styling I have ever seen in the premier league, makes Jason Lee look cool. Got some balls if he keeps it for tmrw though.
  5. This! 15 points would be lovely. The fine is much more likely. Normally more damaging aswell, especially given the current situation at West Ham, that said it will probably just mean someone mega rich coming in and buying them for much cheaper and happily paying the fine making it meaningless.
  6. Honestly, next year if we lose Given. Hardly think we're destined for relegation for goodness sake. Villa looked like they were destined to be a big club to face relegated only a few years ago. Football isn't static. Players change, managers change, etc. For all we know in five years, Newcastle could be preparing for their next Premier league fixture at Ibrox against Rangers or at the Vicente Calderon against Atletico fro our next Europe second divison fixture. I'd normally agree, but the way we've steadily taken a step further into the abyss every year against all odds makes me feel like there are some cosmic forces conspiring against us. I really thought it was the end of that after we drew at Old Trafford on the first day of the season. Unfortunately, events since then have systematically crushed any sense of hope out of my bones. Things can easily go either way. It wont take much to see us rocket back up the league to somewhere respectable. A decent manager in the summer could see our better players stay with some quality additions we would be back on track. Of course it could go the other way, considering the way results have conspired against us when we have picked up points, a couple of losses and we are back in the shit and panic sets in. More than likely it will sit somewhere in the middle with us finishing just below midtable, Kinnear staying on, most of the better players leaving but some decent investment over the summer with a moderately improved finish the year after. Slow progress.

    Jason Culina

Just before he does another theatric dive and feigns injury for another minute or two.
  8. Geremi leaves first to Turkey for a nominal fee. Alan Smith refuses to leave despite offers from Boro, Everton, Real Madrid and Inter Milan. Barton is pushed out to Pompey, Kinnear finds out the next day after wise scouting report recomends Barton as a summer target, brushing it aside JFK says he has been reassured he can spend the money, he duly does on a 5m darren ferguson, peterborough are chuffed as they appoint Roy Keane, David Murray scratches his head. N'Zogbia will leave for a cut price fee after a bust up with Kinnear after the 10th statement criticising the club is released, this time accusing Kinnear of asking players to crimp his mullet, an angry Kinnear enters the guiness book of records after swearing more times than N'Zogbia has sulked, although he doesnt deny the claims. Kinnear claims the sales are over, just before we offload Enrique back to spain on loan and Martins joins Spurs linking up with best buddy N'Zogbia. Two days later around the 30th Given walks to Man City for 7m plus hamann, JFK is happy until he realises its not Sam. Kinnear says we have an ace up our sleeves but reality hits the day after when we dont have time to spend the money and conveniently no one good enough is available. Kinnear resigns stating health reasons, two hours earlier he needed a sit down after fighting with Lambias and knocking him out. Wise takes temporary charge before Poyet comes in to lead us to the championship and the FA cup.
  9. Its only a matter of time, if we manage to pull off a couple of decent signings this window and ashley gets a few fans back on side Poyet might just sneak unto the coaching staff. We need a couple of coaches anyway, madness we havent got anyone in already.
  10. Would be fantastic, with Jonas and Duff the wings would be sorted, he could certainly fill in the centre aswell. Not ever going to happen though.
  11. Ie. We made the whole thing up, but lets save some face. Bloody typical though, we will probably sell Barton and Geremi and have Smith and Ferguson "marshalling" the midfield.
  12. 35p, a black and white stripey top and a couple of frog's legs and he's yours. Honestly though, if like Baggio says, he's available for around the £7million mark then i think it's well worth the gamble. As for player exchange, i doubt Redknapp would allow any players to leave aprt from maybe Gunter (good player), ghaly (good player but it might be better if he leaves) , boateng (s****), and maybe Bentley if you lot add some cash to the N'zogbia deal. Come to think of it, you might be able to get Dos santos of us, as it seems Redknapp dosen't rate him much. Can't believe what has become of Kevin Prince Boateng! Man ... KD do you really think he was given enough of an opportunity to settle and even show his stuff? I hardly remember him playing a game?! I remember seeing him play for Germany when he was younger, in a youth tourney, and he was an absolute dynamo. He was everywhere. Breaking up play and bombing forward to join attacks. Can't believe what has become of the guy. He really needs to get his act together though. The plan was that he was supposed to become one the best mids in the world, but if you look at what some of his age mates in centre midfield have already accomplished, he is far behind. Even someone like Guthrie is holding down a spot in a Premier League club. [bold]Kevin will be 22 in a few months and has barely sniffed first team action. And its the like of Jenas, Huddlestone, and O'Hara that are keeping him out.[/bold] To be fair, had probably all of those players been here Guthrie might not have got in ahead of them either, certainly the first two.
  13. What has he said ? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/b/bolton_wanderers/7818181.stm Just basically saying they have got Davenport on the verge of signing, but they are just going to see if a better deal can come off before they make him sign.
  14. Shocking behaviour from Megson, with his comments today. Its no suprise football clubs can work transfers like that but why tell everyone thats what your doing? Hope whomever he is after turns them down and Davenport sticks two fingers up. Kinnear like behavior of the highest order!
  15. How many has Alves scored in the cups then? Had read he has 9 in all competitions hasnt he. I was suprised he had half that amount, thought he had been a huge flop so far. Can edit my stupid self. 3 in total this year, 6 last season.
  16. Should really be giving Kinnear no choice than to drop him for Saturday coming out with trash like that. Don't think we are really in the position to do so though and N'Zogbia's agent knows it.
  17. I think he has just come back from injury though. Either way they seem to have preferred Alves and aliadiere.
  18. Like someone mentioned, I hope we use him in a swap deal for someone. I'd prefer to see him move abroad though, there must be someone half decent at PSG mad enough to come here. Swap deals are the best way forward this window. I wouldnt mind the straight cash if I knew we would get it straight back to buy someone else, at least we are keep the squad numbers the same with swaps.
  19. Looks like this one is actually happening. I dont really see what either club gains from it. Of course we do get the better end of the deal though. Mido would come here, if fit and motivated would be a solid signing, that sounds just like the last guy we bought from the smogs though. Mido is probably the best player we can hope for in our current state. Its a strange one, why Boro would want to lose one of their better players for Alan Smith who really doesnt give them anything they dont have is beyond me. Can see Smith refusing them though, not sure if that leaves us looking elsewhere for a striker or a straight cash deal for Mido (who will come imo). He surely cant be so expensive just to buy straight out.
  20. I actually think we will cash in on him. I will be livid if we do, we wont sign anyone as good let alone better this month. expect us to sell him for 3m then fail to get anyone else in to reinforce the midfield.
  21. Wishful thinking. would still like to see him here. different to any striker on our books. not a chance of it happening though.
  22. I was just about to post that. I'm officially excited. No-one burst my bubble please!!! Why are you excited? We're not linked with him in the article - which has no quotes and is by goal.com. So to burst your bubble by the way Off to Mackems. http://www.setanta.com//uk/Articles/Football/2009/2/5/Exclusive-MBami-agent-on-Sland/gnid-34036/ sorry should be in other clubs thread, it was mentioned in here though.
  23. I'd be suprised if he isnt offered the job if we dont go down. If we do go down I wouldnt be suprised if they kept him on either, its getting closer to his level.
  24. For the most part Rangers fans could care less about him right now, cant run with the ball, never shoots and more than not watches the game pass him by, he can apparently retain the ball ok. Good ball watcher though. I dont think we will sign anyone better this window, infact he is probably light years better than what we end up with.
