  1. So quite outrageous paper talk so far.. Allardyce is coming in Speed, Mike Forde, Ricky Sbragia, Ricky Sbragia have all been touted and Im sure Hull and Carlisle will be thrilled the papers are talking up Phil Brown and Neil McDonald! Then Campbell, Nolan, Anelka, Davies, Jaskilinen, Ben Haim are all apparently targets! so more than likely we will end up with bruce and terry mac staying on...
  2. add appiah and campbell to that list.
  3. Carr, Bramble, Ramage, Babayaro to name a few.
  4. Coach the following players to their best or ship them out: Duff, Luque, N'Zogbia, Parker, Emre, Dyer, Bramble, Carr, Babayaro, Ameobi. Bring in two Centre halves of considerable quality a RB and two decent LB's Turn Andy Carroll into Kevin Davies. Shave McDermotts tache off. Make Lee Clark Grow one. Bring Ben Haim and Nicky Hunt.
  5. whom ever said not fit to lace Roberts boots was about right, and i didnt even rate Robert that highly. N'Zog will stay and we should keep him, his potential is certainly greater than Roberts but he is a long way off matching Robert on Ginola. Duff has had a very bad season but he will turn out good, I will say that with even more confidence should allardyce take over. Buying him wasnt a mistake for that price buying a player of his skill and versatility is never worth missing. Milner on the left is reasonable but duff is in a different league, our wings are sorted now and shouldnt need tinkering with in the summer, just needs motivating. Duff - Milner - N'Zog - Can all cover LW Solano - Dyer - Milner - Duff - Can all cover RW On form as good a pool of wingers as needed. The Zog has had a bad year like alot of our squad but now is the second chance to push it behind them and take the reprieve for the coming season under new management.
  6. ---------------------Given---------------------- Hunt--------Taylor-----Ben Haim--------Baines ----------------------Appiah---------------- ------------Parker-------------Emre------------ Owen--------------Viduka------------Martins Wouldnt say no...
  7. Tuncay, viduka, appiah, sidwell, ben haim, distin = wages no fee spend the budget on some decent fullbacks.
  8. Right time no doubt. Our prospective manager will also have a competitive match to watch this sunday to have a look at his players and who he might want to keep and cull. Im not sold on Allardyce but he is easily the best English Manager at the moment. SGE would be an impressive appointment but like big sam hardly and inspiring one, does he have the passion for the club and next seasons derbies? Its definatley a shame all the scouting for the summer was wasted, but there is nothing to say the list of names compiled and people spoken to wont be handed over to our new manager. Whoever comes in will also have a new list of names so in effect we double our scouting. Wonder if this means the tour of the states is back on?
  9. tbf none of the players would understand his team talk. Guess he could motivate them and scare them into action by smiling at them though.
  10. Sidwell will add more depth to the central midfield, he has had a stonking season for reading a move here will put him up a notch on the england call up list. Big sam will like him too, very similar player to Kevin Nolan, better coming forward than Parker, certainly wont turn my nose up at getting him for nothing, great prospect.
  11. So its ok when he is playing in position and getting ripped to shreds, like normal.
  12. Duh the fans of course.. everyone knows fat man and the board listened to the fans and appointed the person they voted number one to take over... Glen Roeder! Not their fault every toon fan wanted the wrong man. tbh I heard Freddy quite fancied Hitzfeld, never mind..
  13. Hardly suprising it would be carr, even less so an injury the medical staff were bemused by. I hope he is the first person out of the club this summer detestable troll, who has arguable given away as many goals as tightarse.
  14. Its a valid point mrmojorisin75 brings up, which is obviously a doubt that would arise. There are certainly several dark points in appointing Big Sam. His European record - hardly any experience managing or playing in europe and a reasonably dissapointing campaign with Bolton. The bung enquiries - do we need any more scandal and dark clouds over the club? Big club syndrome - Can he handle a big club with big pressures and intrusions into his personal life? He however remains a succesfull manager and an innovative coach, he would certainly shake up the club, instill passion in the players and get us a decent bargain or two in the market! not to mention shoring up the defence is a distinct possibility too! Personally I dont think he is the right man and I think we could find alot better abroad. We have been too down trodden by mediocrity and failure we would take anything better than what we had. Given our recent patience track record I dont believe it will take too long before people are on Allardyces back.
  15. Good pool of teams that arguably should all be up in the top division. Like to see wolves up there, so curtis davies and Giles barnes are available. That said allardyce wont want to buy either so it doesnt matter. WBA will certainly be on a high after scoring seven against barnsley.
  16. Had the vision, had the love of this club and the area, just didnt have the tactical genius or management skills to succeed. Love him to stay on in some capacity, just not as manager. Will remember him for saving us from relegation and trying to rebuild the club after the Souness massacre, giving us Martins, an unexpected season of European football (which might well have cost him his job) and his third person interviews. All the best, will always be welcome at SJP, just not as the manager
  17. Well he will go through two more in the coming months, big sam then the manager of the club we sell him to.
  18. Is Luque's move to PSV confirmed, or maybe Allardyce might fancy looking at him first?
  19. Cant find any confirmation still? Sky Sports still running it?
  20. Well played Glen, hope you can come back in some role in our structure.
