    Hasselbaink

And some people criticise talk of getting viduka. for the record id rather keep sibierski than hasslebaink.
  2. Assisted by terry mac the fat man is going to appoint himself.
  3. Who is buying city now anyways?
  4. Mind you that was also before the Newcastle Job was available.
  5. Would have to settle for the other applicants, SVE, Houllier and Scolari wern't they? or chris coleman, david o'leary, stuart pearce.
  6. Doesnt look good, but on the up point, everyone should have a clean slate when big sam gets here.
  7. some interesting quotes... will more than likely all be repeated at the press conference though. Newcastle chairman outlines expectations for Big Sam tribalfooball.com - May 13, 2007 Newcastle United chairman Freddy Shepherd has outlined their expectations of what Sam Allardyce must bring to the club ahead of his official appointment on Wednesday. "The first job for the new manager is to get Newcastle back into the top six in the Premiership and to make sure that the club is playing regularly in Europe. That is the minimum we expect," Shepherd told the Sunday Sun. "Where we are in the Premier League this season simply isn't acceptable to either me or our fans. "This managerial change is about re-establishing Newcastle United as a formidable power both in the Premiership and Europe. "Sam Allardyce knows that a club with Newcastle United's support, resources and wage bill must be challenging at the top end of the table. "But you only have to look at what he achieved in transforming Bolton to know that his credentials match the job description." Shepherd, who will give Allardyce a four-year contract worth £10 million and a £20 million transfer kitty, reflected sadly on Roeder's departure. "Sam knows just how badly affected we were with injuries last season. He has a lot of sympathy for Glenn Roeder," he added. "But the performance against Blackburn simply wasn't good enough and Glenn knew that. "He did the honourable thing and resigned. "I appreciate everything he did for Newcastle. He will remain a personal friend and a friend to Newcastle United." http://www.tribalfootball.com/article.php?id=39242
  8. Rubbish, whilst some managers like Sam Allardyce might be able to control fiery characters or so called bad boys, profiling and temperaments on and off the pitch are fiercly scrutinised by the majority of managers before purchasing a player. It doesnt have to be a big issue if they are play well, but if they disrupt the harmony of the dressing room, put people or themselves at risk they are a liability. Its not good business or even sound logic, but the decision lies with the coach. Which was basically proven when Bellamy was offered around at a cut price from us and only mid to lower table teams were interested in him. He could have improved and eventually did prove he can add to a top four team, although his temperament seems to have let him down again at Liverpool. That said, id imagine Big Sam would relish working with Bellamy and would get the best out of him.
  9. tbh im not sure, one of the Fenerbache fans raiding the boards earlier in the season said he, tuncay and Alex were all out of contract this summer, but I have read a website saying he is signed to 2009, but it also says another player has been playing out of contract for over a year.
  10. Sounds like a back up option if/as we have lost out to chelsea for sidwell and cant afford Nolan. For £3m or less I would take him, im pretty sure Allardyce would sort him out, a change of scenery is definatley a start for what he needs, alot of therapy wouldnt go amiss either! No less an arsehole than Bellamy, its Big Sams call really. We could do better, but he would be a good addition on the footballing side. Arteta would be ideal but as likely as buying Rooney.
  11. If Arteta moves anywhere it will be back to spain. Class player though. The Fenerbache fan that haunted here was convinced Appiah was out of contract this summer along with Alex and Tuncay. I think we could find better strikers than Anelka for that kind of price. Rather gamble 5 on Nugent, not to say he is better than Anelka, but he would be less wages, price and hassle, and more potential.
  12. Sidwell, Tuncay, Appiah, Distin, Ben Haim and Viduka. If we sell Owen, Saviola wouldnt be a bad option. Then use any money we have to buy a decent LB and RB.
  13. ...at throwing a strop. Attitude can be the only reason he wasnt a starter today, and if its true that his ego is a bad as it is, there is justification that it needs rectifying. It takes a great manager to be able to handle that kind of personality flaw well, I think if SA had been in charge earlier it wouldnt have been a problem.
  14. Lets see how nice he is about things after we going in trying to poach Speed, Forde, Sbragia and Mark Taylor for our new coaching set up. Would say no to Phil Brown and maybe the carlisle boss either.
  15. what do you expect, hes signed for spurs you know Id still say Viduka will be a nailed on signing though, exactly the type of player big sam likes and is on a bosman. Dont reckon we will see either of Owen or Martins leaving, although the former would be the obvious choice to leave if either was going to.
  16. An extra Bosman for your list... http://uk.news.yahoo.com/itn/20070513/ten-best-in-us-footie-deal-ea4616c.html Robson green still has a chance.
  17. Would help him having a decent strike partner. College Dropout is right about the movement though, Id expect him to improve dramatically on that front, although his sporadic movement in the box is sometimes one of his stronger points, how many times have we seen him pull back rather than get right into the goal mouth, then receive the ball and fire it home. He still has alot to learn about the game over here and how to get the best of opposition defences, with the right coaching he can be imense.
  18. The academy set up is certainly a whole lot healthier, who ever steps into the hotseat certainly has alot of work to do, but I dont think Roeder has done much damage to the club. In fairness he did alot of repair work from the state Souness got us in. The clubs in the right state for the new man to do whatever he likes with it really. For Big Sam its perfect for the taking, I just hope if its him he can bring the coaching staff we need.
  19. Does it matter who we buy with the money we get for either? whether its Ronaldinho or Luke Chadwick they are still going to be ripped apart by morons on here. We have a 22 year old who has come into a new league and played more than double the amount of games he has ever played in a season, yet scored 17 times, he has all the attributes to become one of the best players in the league if not Europe, but because he gets a few perfomances wrong we are better off selling him? Give the guy a couple of seasons and some decent coaching please. As for Owen regardless of whether he is on form, injured or not apparently he never had an interest in playing for us so lets drive out another one of our best players in the hope we will bring in someone inferior that we willl obviously be happy with.
  20. About 5'9" That doesn't even make sense

    Viduka

Only problem is he is gagging to go back to Oz, might get two years out of him if we are lucky.
  22. He will just have to wear a gimp mask when he plays.
