I thought (wrongly) that he would get more games as Hughton was going to try the large and large partnership attempted by Gullit... but getting Loven and Best meant that was not part of Chris' plans. We may need to loan him out to get him a run... somewhere boring and remote to keep him out of trouble. Real Salt Lake City anyone?
  2. I never loved him, but I rated him and feel bad for him now. Going from one sinking ship to another...
  3. Virtually yes, but technically no. If Leicester win their next two games they'd only be 3 points behind Forest and if they win their next two while Forest lose they'd be up 3 points - so Leicester could technically pass Forest and us, but that would be highly unlikley since Leicester would have to win every one of their last 9 games (and they have a tough schedule including Cardiff and WBA away) and we'd have to then lose every game after Posh.
  4. Scott Parker was booed off the field today (as was the rest of the team) along with chants of "You're not fit to wear the shirt." I bet he feels unlucky - Charlton to Newcastle to WHam. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/mar/23/west-ham-wolves-premier-league
  5. Is there anything better than that c*** failing as a manager? I'm not sure, personally i love to see gullit fail (of course not with us) He's doen that a few times now. Most recently in Los Angeles.
  6. Le Saux spent his weekends going antiquing with his wife and spent his hard earned cash on antiques and old books (as opposed to booze, women and fast cars) - he wasn't a lad's lad and already had a reputation in the Blackburn locker room for being a reader on the team bus. David Batty saw him reading the Guardian in the dressing room before a match and said something along the lines of: "Bloody 'ell you also reading the f*cking Guardian, you must be a f*cking pooftah." Le Saux had had enough and it kicked off between them. After that the "Gay" slur stuck with him. Never liked Batty anyway. A decent DCM but a f*cking cretin none-the-less. WHen asked about missing his PK for ENgland in '98 he said he'd be over it the next day. The man had no conscience.
  7. ... well you and Chris Hughton. who's he? Touché
  8. This is a false statement by the way. Homosexuality occurs in many vertibrates across the animal kingdom and there is actually a great deal of research showing the benefits from an evolutionary standpoint. Ok, that is fair, but surely you cannot dispute the fact that it is a deviant behaviour and that people who engage in it will always be otracised to some degree. That is just the fact of the matter. Deviant? You're either born gay or not, dude. There's nothing deviant about it. Do you know what the word means? It deviates from the norm....therefore it is deviant regardless of how one becomes this way. That is quite clear. It depends what you consider 'the norm' to be. It's normal to have different skin colours, hair colours, attitudes etc. why not different sexualities? Otherwise you could say black skin isn't normal or ginger hair isn't normal. Well put. If we follow Babatunde's logic then it would be okay for us to refer to Asian footballers as "deviant." Can't imagine it would go over well if people starting referring to players like Chopra that way.

I would say that from an evolutionary standpoint it seems to remain in the minority and that it seems "natural" for our society to persecute minorities. I wouldn't call homosexuality "deviant" though.

  12. Prediction: Donny 4 NUFC 0 Sent off: Butt, Carroll Headlines: Off-field troubles once again affect Newcastle
  13. We should offer a derisory 100K at the end of the season... you know just to rub salt in the wounds.
  14. You have one hour until midnight and then all the red tops become avaialble on NEWSNOW.
  15. Those shirts make me jealous because they look awesome without a sponsor and we will have one. I know many people have said this a hundred times on here, but I would pay extra to buy a shirt without a sponsor on it.
  16. This Leon Best situation makes me think that he is part of the SBR school in that he keeps players on when they are having a 'mare and won't sub them until they work it out. It is a style that I don't agree with but since CH reputedly has a soft touch it makes sense.
  17. http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/sport/football/760479/BECKS-CAN-STRIKE-GOLD-AT-WEST-HAM.html F*ck me that didn't take long. The Galaxy will certainly release him and they need a replacement anyway considering their season is close to finishing when he comes back from injury.
  18. Swap Leon Best for Danny Haynes plus 500K. Looking for a reasonable offload that would save face for both parties.

    The 'Superfan'

Most of the posts said it better than me... there are sensible people that have ST's sensible people that only see games on Sky... the opposite is also true.

As one of those foreigner/ex-pats that only gets to see one game a year (and oddly it costs more than a grand to do so BTW) I have to echo BT in that being there live isn't always the best perspective. Watching the game after 6 pints and yelling every song under the sun in LL7 as opposed to watching the match on the telly stone cold sober at 5AM doesn't necessarily make you a better character witness of the game... I find the opposite is usually true.
  21. There is still time. Yell at the players about lack of intensity. Sub Ranger for Best and R. Taylor for Simpson.
