Disasterous timing again by Ashley. While I will be delighted to see the back of him, to undertake a sales process now will hurt our preparations for next season greatly. While other championship sides are getting geared up, sorting out playing staff, we won't have a manager and won't have a team in place for potentially weeks.

I can't believe this guy runs a listed company, if this stuff is true it borders on the ridiculous.

I agree with a lot of that article, perhaps a bit OTT but the general message is correct.

One things for sure, Shearer is right on being prepared - a decision needs made asap on manager and whatever changes need implementing bin player personel, backroom staff and structures need to be in place very quickly.

I think it was a huge tactial effor not playing him on the right and taking one of the inept nolan or butt out for guthrie, both the fulham and villa games were appalling on that right side.

He's been a big let down for me and when the pressure was on he crumbled. He won't stay anyway.

Let's test that loyalty by asking him to take a pay cut.

I find it hilarious that some think it is a disgrace if they put out a youth/resererve side? Why in the world shouldn't they? Its our own fault we are in this mess, we shouldn't be looking for any team to do us any favours and they certainly don't owe us any favours - we wouldn't if the roles were reversed. Christ - they have a European Cup Final 3 days later, if I was Ferguson, not a single one of the players I had in mind for my starting 11 and bench would be sniffing a minute of play on Sunday.

If he plays Nolan and Butt in the centre again, we are screwed.

Only one man was responsible for bringing in Kinnear and then failing to replace him till 8 games to go.

While I agree we lack a flair player, I don't think any of our midfield players are good enough, perhaps save Guthrie and Guitierez on occassion. Nicky Butt is 3 years past it, Nolan is awful, Taylor mediocre, Duff's legs have gone, Barton a waste of space and Geremi see Duff. We lack flair but we also lack pace, real pace, both to get forward and to track back. Nolan for instance couldn't track back quick enough if his life depended on it.

I'm struggling to remember a worse pairing in the centre than butt and nolan!

I'm a 10 - given our performances recently there is no way in my opinion we will beat Fulham and I think we will even struggle against Boro - I think overall up to this point we have been one of the three worst teams in the league and unless something dramtically changes over the next 3 games, will merit relegation.

Obviously I love the man but his tactics/formations have been poor and he hasn't got any better performances from the players so take nostalgia aside, I think the jury is very much out, though I admit its pretty difficult circumstances to be judging him in.
