Yes you got me Gejon, I really want Jimmy Nail as our manager...
-
I'm sure Jimmy would do better then Allardyce has lately yes.. But given he has no Footnall experience and Shearer has been in Football at the highest level for the last 15 years or so I'd say he'd just about edge out Jimmy Nail there don't you think.
-
Wouldn't mind that, tbh. Yep lets bring Shearer in, he is bound to be a top class manager You don't need to be a top class manager to do a hell of a lot better then the Fat man has done so far. Also how do you know he wouldn't be a top class manager? He has a lot of the attributes a good manager needs. At the very least he's got balls, which are something the likes of Allardyce sadly lack.

With a record of LLDLL in our last 5 games and Arsenal sure to add another L then yes we are in the s***. Just because we haven't finished sinking yet doesn't mean we aren't a sinking ship. We can afford to give him a little bit longer, but on the other hand if Mort/Ashley have the man they wanted all along lined up to come in then they should sack Sam and be done with it. If they don't have a real replacement then fair enough, I'd agree they should wait another few games. But if we don't get more then two wins from our next 5 games Allardyce has to go.

Shearer as manager with Beresford as assistant

Was that first sentence supposed to be a description of the post to follow thomas? If we were playing well and losing games people would be thinking we're just on an unlucky run and that things will turn around. Instead we're playing hopeless passionless football with no sign of any improvement (the opposite in fact). If you seriously believe that any fan would consider that preferable to playing well but losing then you need help.
-
I thought you were joking..
-
You don't know that so why make assumptions? There is currently no evidence whatsoever to suggest he can turn things around. Comparing Allardyce to the likes of Moyes and Hughes is stupid as their expectations when they got appointed were not half as high as ours were this season. Are you saying that Everton aren't an ambitious and expecting club? Sorry, that's absolute bollocks. In the 10 seasons before Moyes took over Everton had finished 13th, 17th, 15th, 6th, 15th, 17th, 14th, 13th, 16th, 15th.. Yeah I see what you mean, those are some heady standards Moyes had to live up to there, I'm sure the expectations were massive!

There would be nothing fickle about backing a manager who had finally come to his senses and starting at least getting the basics of Football right. Because that's the only way he'd have a chance of winning the next four games. He's not likely to win any of the next four by picking the wrong players and playing them out of position in an unbalanced formation.. Which is why people are actually sick of the sight of the man already, rather then this stupid myth that its all just down to results and a win or two will have people singing his name....
-
True, we basically have no bottle. Practicing penalties "every day" like SGE said isn't could enough if your only player with any bottle is a German / Canadian cross breed. Shearer had balls of steel and he never played abroad.. I mean you're right that few of our current players have the bottle for pressure situations (other then maybe Owen and possibly Rooney) but I don't think playing abroad is what gives you bottle..

He hasn't suddenly gone mental, nothing has changed with him at all in fact and that's the main problem. He still seems to believe he's at Bolton, he still tries to get his team to play the same way Bolton played. Only now he doesn't have the right kind of players to make that work. I'm sure given time and money he can be just as successful here as he was a Bolton, but do we want that? Yeah we might be finishing in the top 6, but that's as high as we can ever finish with that kind of team (forget about Europe as well). I certainly don't want that. The next manager will have to rip the side appart and start all over again..
-
I doubt he'll go, but to be honest at the moment I really wish he would. After initially wanting to give him a chance everything he's done suggests he's a small thinker with extremely limited tactical knowledge, (possibly less then the common man on the street) who's aim is to recreate Bolton's first team at Newcastle.. I'll still give him a chance, but if he left I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't have a smile on my face (I wouldn't be smilling for England but Newcastle comes first).

Start making national teams pay players wages if the player misses club games. I'd bet that pretty quickly we'd see the African Nations Cup moved in to the off season, and we'll see far less pointless friendlies as well..

Given definitely, Owen probably, Martins maybe, N'Zogbia maybe.

Three players to transform the team.....

Very probably yes, then again I bet similar things were said before he signed for HSV. -

Don't know about Joaquin, final ball is a bit iffy and seems to play in little cameo's rather than sustain a performance throughout the game. He can carry the ball well though and is very skillful and direct which I like. When he's on form though he's great to watch. Highly doubt we could get him though. For me: Bentley Anelka Van der vaart All 3 can score goals regularly and are creative. Realistic man. Not that unrealistic really, considering we're talking about being ambitious and money being no object. He plays for HSV after all, he's a bit of a one man team up there, but if the price was high enough they're bound to sell eventually. My vote would go for: Van Der Vaart Van Der Vaart Van Der Vaart If we couldn't get Van Der Vaart three times then I'd fill the other two spaces with Huntelaar and Quaresma.. -
Breaking news of worldwide importance about fackin Spuhhhs!

Its probably one more pitch then Arsenal have in there training complex. When you live in the shadow of much more successful clubs you have to take success where you can find it you know Or were just building for the future with a new state of the art training facility that should help youngsters such as Pekhart, Dixon, Taarabt, Rose and Dervitte develop faster and better Perhaps, just think if you hadn't bought Darren Bent you could have had twenty pitches and free mental treatment for the likes of Jenas.. -

I'm betting Arsenal have 10 pitches in there training complex.. I suppose when you live in the shadow of much more successful clubs you have to take success where you can find it -
Not yet, but he will be soon. He's got nobody to blame but himself though. He's putting himself under pressure by employing such odd tactics and team selections. Playing with four central midfielders, moving your best winger to left back when the real left back is fit, removing your right back and putting a centre back in his place.. Going to places like Derby and Reading, premiership whiping boys, and playing for a draw... If you do those kinds of things, especially on a regular basis, you better pray to god you win games. Because otherwise it just gives people reasons to turn against you.
-
It amazes me that people are talking about how Milner and N'Zogbia aren't doing well lately and putting it down to them not being good enough.. Don't you think these recent problems might just be because Allardyce now plays both of them on the wrong side of midfield? Blame the 'master tactician', not the player!
-
1. His aim is noble but unrealistic. I just hope he does not go crazy in pursuing this dream People with that much money don't need to go crazy chasing a dream, if they want it enough they get it, simple as that. After all he has enough money to buy 10 world class teams.. How the hell can you know that Nobody can possibly be better then Chelsea?, that's why Manure won the title I suppose?...
-
...and a 5 year one at that. He would give him a new contract wether he wants to keep him or not.. The longer the contract the better the sale price.

So now we should expect to be beaten 4:1 at home against Portsmouth?! What total bollocks! I didn't expect the game to be easy, especially with this strange fetish Portsmouth have for away games. But I certainly did not expect them to end up thrashing us and to be honest if Allardyce hadn't made the moronic mistake (one of many lately) of playing a technical/weak centre back against big strong forwards we wouldn't have been! I think we paid out about £25m, and recieved about £14m through the Parker and Dyer deals. So that's only £11m, which compared to what the likes of Manchester City, West Ham, Portsmouth, Sunderland, and just generally in comparison to the crazy figures paid out this summer - it's quite limited. West Ham spent £10.5 million and Portsmouth spent £15 million, hardly a massive difference to the £11 we spent is it? Fair enough Sunderland and Man City spent £27 million each but Sunderland are hardly competing with us anyway..

Totally wrong mate, people have a problem with the manor of the defeat, not the defeat itself. Had we gone to Reading with our best team out and lost anyway (unlikely) people would be saying "Don't blame Sam, he's only working with the team he inherited, we need better players". Allardyce has brought the critisism on himself by putting out a poor team with no creativity, apparently in order to try to get a draw from the mighty Reading
