I wouldn't doubt Dawson, he just wouldn't get in the team or even on the bench ahead of Cacapa, Rozenhal or Taylor. I'd doubt Robinson (seriously Harper is better) and Jenas wouldn't even get on the bench ahead of the likes of Emre, Geremi and Solano.

Once again, the word of the day is deluded... d.e.l.u.d.e.d...

Totenham wouldn't want Shay Given according to that article? mackems.gif Dear me that says it all doesn't it? There keeper is the joke of the Footballing world at the moment, yet they wouldn't want one of the best and most consistent keepers in the Premiership... I've said it before but I'll say it again, Spurs fans are the most deluded fans I've ever witnessed (not every single one obviously but overall). In fact, really they should list both Given and Harper as players they would take, both better then any keeper they have.

Well obviously I can't help being happy to a degree that West Ham have lost a good player, especially after all the shit with the transfer and the way they're throwing someone elses money around. But I'm certainly not happy that he's broken his leg so badly. Despite the fact that in the end I was glad to see the back of Dyer he still doesn't deserve this. All the injuries that have plagued his career and now this. I agree with sicko2ndbest ect, some people here need to take a good look at themselves for being so happy that someone might just have had there career ended.
-
If he really is available on loan then there's no risk, so I'd take him.
-
One of the things that's annoying me is Geremi taking absolutely every set peice. All throws near goal, all corners, all freekicks, he's producing nothing with them, so why is he taking them all? Let Milner and N'zogbia take some for suck sake!!

A small outlay? 2M might well be insignificant in today's market but at the moment we still have not acquired a specialist right back. Is money the problem? Could we have saved 2M and use it elsewhere? There is more than enough physical presence in midfield (Smith, Geremi, Barton, Butt). By all account it won't be a bad signing, and I wouldn't complain. But by all accounts I think the time, energy and money spent on Faye should be spent on obtaining a new right back. Yes a very small outlay, £2 million is pocket change in the current market. Also the fact that we had no problem cancelling Dyer's transfer despite just buying Smith a day earlier and then going and buying Enrique even though it looked like Dyer was going to stay tells me we do have money to spend. Obviously Allardyce doesn't want any of the right backs available at the moment.

Wah?.. which three managers were those? Luque played 13 of the 15 games he was available for under Souness (5 from the bench, but what can you expect when coming back from a bad injury). Also Allardyce made it clear that if Luque wanted to stay he would give him a chance having been a fan of his at Depor. Roeder was the only manager who wouldn't play him/didn't want him. Yeah because Allardyce was clearly going to give him a chance as a 6th choice sdtriker. I think it's safe to say if Allardyce had any interest in keeping him he would have. There's a big difference between Allardyce saying "If you stay I'll give you regular first team Football" and Allardyce saying "I don't want you, leave".... No doubt Luque could have stayed and Allardyce would have put every effort into helping him push his way into the team. But obviously he wanted a fresh start at a club that wanted him in the first team straight away.

Nope, revisionist history mate..

If they give away 5000 tickets every season then why on earth would any fan want to actually buy a ticket?..

I've got news for you mate, I'm only one person.. I get the point, and its a crazy overeaction. This reminds me of that Queen song, "I want it all and I want it now!!"... We will not get back to where 'we feel we should be" over night. Personally I feel we should be in the top 4, but that's something that will only happen over time. I think everyone agreed when Allardyce came in that the first order of business was to clear out the wasters and replace them with good players, that's now been done and done very well IMO. If there's time to start the next step this window (and remember that getting players all depends on the right player being available for the right price and actually wanting to come) then great. But if not I'm still happy that we've made a major step forward in building the foundations for a very good squad. As for how much money has been spent. Before we sold Dyer, which was not guarenteed to happen at all, we'd spent around £14 million. So clearly there is more to spend, but that's useless if the right players aren't available or are uninterested because of our lack of European football and poor finish last season.
-
Bollocks quite frankly. He's claiming this season has been wasted already. I'm saying that replacing 6 players who weren't good enough with 7 far superior players points to anything but a wasted season ahead.
-
Ah the age old excuse "But anyone could have scored in that game". Well then why didn't they genius? Were Celtic doing Luque a favour or something? You're talking utter garbage basically. It took good movement to get those opportunities and a good touch to finish them off. Its just a pitty that an early injury forced him off in the second game after a promising start (helping to setup and score the penalty for the first goal).
-
We've swapped: Antoine Sibierski Kieron Dyer Scott Parker Craig Moore Titus Bramble Olivier Bernard For: Mark Viduka Alan Smith Joey Barton Geremi David Rozenhal Cacapa Jose Enrique Every single replacement an improvement, most of them massive improvements. Yeah we might as well give up now since improving the quality of our squad is no way to go about improving this clubs fortunes is it?! Behead Allardyce, that's what I say!! Seriously though is there a ignore function on this messageboard? Because I really think I need to add BB to it if there is..
-
He's given Football itself you mong! Say what you want about how the game would be dead without referee's, but its equally dead without quality Footballers. In fact if it came down to it I'd still watch Football without referee's, but I certainly wouldn't watch referee's without Football

What the f*** are we going to do with 13 million boys???

Old thread about a potential Icelandic takeover bid years ago

Quality comparison Spot on. Not really no.... I think a better comparison would be a hustler winning £40 in vegas and quiting while he's ahead. Either way it does seem incredibly petty to go to all this trouble and cost (£160 million or more) only to sell up for a £30 million profit a few months later.. Especially when you have 70 times that in the bank already.. -

That's a good way of looking at it, but it ignores the fact that if he sells at a profit so quickly it is partly at the expense of investments that could have otherwise been made into the club by the new owners (aside from obviously our previous owners, who would have sold too cheaply). Nothing can be done about that now though so what's the point of worrying about it? Also I hope Shepherd did sell to cheaply, I hope he has sleepless nights over it the fat tit... -

Well this is the way I see it. If Ashley rejects a £30-40 million profit (it has to be more then the last 'bid' after all) then great, it proves his commitment. If he accepts it, then he never had any commitment to NUFC at all. In which case I'd be happy that we'd seen the back of him sooner rather then later -
Racking your brains?.. what?! Try numerous games last season... We've played badley one game, oh no lets all panic Get a grip!!
-
Well, an opposition player winding up the crowd isn't going to turn them against there own side or silence them is it.
-
We already have players who can create a chances and win games. Our real problem going into this summer was a lack of quality depth in the squad. That's pretty close to being solved but its not complete yet. IMO Faye is yet another step towards that goal and once that's in place then the next step would be a top class playmaker in January or next summer when hopefully we'll be in a much better position to attract that kind of player.
-
He's completely right IMO, well said I have to say..

Looks like Andy O'Brien is his replacemant as well mackems.gif

They'd have to get quite a few top 2/3/4 finishes and some Champions League Football first Even better Spurs can be the new Newcastle but without the good times
