  1. Very disappointed to learn this wasn't a Mexico/Germany joke I didn't get.
  2. Reus is on the bench but, as always, he's a 50/50 risk to pick up a career-ending injury whilst warming up to come on.
  3. There's a group of Icelandic Coaches touring the US this summer putting on camps for youth players to teach them to play the Icelandic way. Just what U.S. youth soccer needs!
  4. Also hedges against him having a shite World Cup, and him sustaining a serious injury during the tournament. Slight to moderate discount now for the buyer to take on those risks.

Losses are tax-deductible in U.S. If his other investments have been doing well, he may get a substantial benefit from accepting/writing off the Mackem losses.
  6. Can't wait to see how this result is turned into "evidence" that the WBA players didn't play hard enough or with sufficient fret for Pards, and let him down.
  7. Maybe Jill, but otherwise, yeah. For the record, I'm #teamstifferz and appreciate him taking the leap of faith knowing the shitstorm it would generate.
  8. Will someone change the thread title if and when HBA actually moves to a new club? Can't be arsed rolling through pages of this shite to see if anything's happened. Ta.
  9. These are on ESPN3 in the States at 2:40 eastern time if anyone is looking to make Good Friday a little bit better.
  10. Another ref, and I'm 100% in Camp Bimpy. I'm calling that offside all day long.
  11. Post-match interview was typically classy. Battled well, didn't think Gayle's dive was remotely a pen, working with Lee and Mike to improve the squad, mum on the takeover.
  12. Remains pure class. We are lucky to have him, particularly given the crap he's had to deal with from above. I'm very hopeful (not drinking my, or anyone else's, piss hopeful, but still . . .) after the result tonight.
  13. I'm not saying it didn't work out OK, just that it was hardly skillful execution on our part that got us to the half one down. Thankfully we had the Most Valuable Post playing as a sweeper. It was a risky approach (not that there was a better one available to Rafa) and we were fortunate. Second half was close to enjoyable-ish.
  14. Could easily have been down 3 or 4 down at the half. Very risky gameplan. Second half much better, especially once Merino and Atsu came on. Thought Rafa's plan might work during the last 15 minutes, and that the crowd was terrific. NBCSN just had the passing stats, and we had 220-some (after only 86 at half time), while Citeh had 860-some.
  15. So is their goalkeeper Rafa is clearly hoping they both doze off and miss a ridiculously off-side counter attack.
  16. Beauty except for the collar which looks like it was sourced from tatty '80s sweatshirts picked up at the charity shop.
  17. I vote for merging it with "Still Not Worthy of a Thread."
