It's been mentioned above but I think that with players around him now actually moving into space and taking up "positive" positions he shouldn't have problems distributing the ball quickly. I wouldn't swap him for anita though until we are two goals up and need that defensive "force" in the middle, I prefer Anita's rythym and consistency of good passing. I do feel for Tiote and some of his performances last year as I can remember me getting irate at the lack of movement around him and people "hiding".(can remember shouting at telly for other to pull their fingers out and offer him a pass option) really exacerbated his downfall. Hope he comes good and competes for that middle berth tbh... can only make us better for it!

I honestly think that his levels dropped because of the San lorenzo thing and a couple of niggly injuries, could say exactly the same about Cabaye... Even at 90% Colo is way better than anything we are used to seeing at centre back

Joek will make an appearance around end of November, talk up a few possible positions he is trying to find players for, divert all the flak from Fat boy and dissappear again at the end of Jan... All according to plan!
-
He has to be in front of the ball to be offside, clearly not if you look at the grass cutting lines... Think people are getting confused with the two players being "in line" or not, when in reality it is the ball and the "offside" player in question. Not even worth the three pages or so of twaddle

01 McGregor 03 Figueroa 05 Chester 06 Davies 27 Elmohamady 08 Huddlestone 10 Koren 11 Brady 14 Livermore 09 Graham 24 Aluko Their midfield looks decent tbf, not very creative but solid and consistent. I think Danny graham is an intelligent striker but I think Colo and MYM are superior to him...

Yes, very clearly was a 433, anita sitting and sissoko and cabaye box to box, ben arfa and remy relatively wide with cisse leading the line. Thought Pardew got it all right yesterday and long may it continue. I don't mind losing a game if we went out positively trying to win it and played a team that had a chance of doing so. Was a bit worried with the sammy substituition but it worked out quite well...

If Pardew does start with Anita and finishes with Tiote it's a clear sign that he is going out to win games early on and then hold out the win. I would love this to continue!! Don't want Tiote on from the start as watching Anita drop back for the pass from defense and then push the ball into decent position was nice to see. though he complimented both sissoko and cabaye in box to box roles very nicely.

If he doesn't score at Hull then he needs dropped. it's got to the stage where he seems undroppable and somebody like Gouff could take up the mantle and offer a lot more. Would like to see Remy as the front man at some point with Gouff and Hatem either side. P.S. Would love him to start hitting them in from all angles but it just seems so far away at the moment. Some of his offsides are ridiculous and the way he is getting shoved off the ball seems too easy...

Not a chance. Sorry ronaldo, but I have never seen teams set up to negate an opposite team more than fat sam's, he isn't capable of anything else. If I had to pick between pards and him i would be reduced to suicide... Pards would probably get the shout just cos he signs better players (or does he--alan)

Pardew has grown a huge set of bollocks! I like it for once... all out attack... go on lad... don't care if we lose, the philosophy is right for once; lets get on the front foot and make them worry about us P.S. UNLESS... he puts Cisse on the wing. then let's all go mentalª!

Not sure really? feel a bit wierd like... Probably the pints last night. That was the way I saw it, outfought and out abilitied for the whole 90 mins, weak is the word. Jonas, Hatem and perhaps Krul were the only ones who actually merited being on the pitch
-
I wended up watching the game in the pub last night, started off early in the day with some blind optimism that we might actually get something from the game, until any positive thoughts were ripped apart when the news that Cabaye had been pulled an hour before the match. Arsenal and PSG or whoever couldn't have found a better time to launch a bid eh? I always knew in the back of my mind that we would get torn to shreds by their attack, and tbh, they really did look slick and hungry last night... Anyway, heres my points ranking for the game: Krul (7) - He actually played pretty well but shipping 4 goals... oh well Debuchy (4) - I really cannot seee what this boy has, late tackles, easily turned, no pace...ffs! Saylor (5) - The defense was all over the place and he was at his stupid handball antics before he was sent off. Liability tbh. What the hell happened when Silva ghosted into miles of space for the first goal. Colo (7) - Colo played reasonably well, not helped by the clowns either side of him though. Again was caught for pace a couple of times and nearly gave an early penner. Mapou (5) - Beaten time and time again, gives too many loose balls away, needs pace to help recover from dodgy positioning. Looked panicky every time he was on the ball. Jonas (7) - Looked a decent outlet all night, tracked back well and put in a shift. Don't understand the amount of stick he gets. Ben Arfa (8) - Only player who looked on the same level as the opposition, tracked back a lot although he hasn't a clue how to tackle or cover the pass... Tiote (5) - Passing was crap and he didn't really get started. Yaya and fernandinho really showed them how to play. Sissoko (4) - For the size of the guy you would think he could handle himslef both on ground and in air, easily pushed off the ball and didn't win a header all night. his runs into space are ok but he was really lacking defensively especially when needed to track the runners, caught out a few times and left defense wide open. Not impressed at all! Gouffran (7) - Tried his best all night, just doesn't quite have the technical stuff to make a difference in the way HBA does. Cisse (3) - I don't think I've seen a player so easily handled as he was last night, looked really weak and was pushed off the ball every time. might be ramadan or something but not working at moment and doesn't suit Pardews hoof ball... Positives: We seem to want to pass the ball about a bit more, at least early on we did! We played the best team in the league by far. Citeh: They looked top nothc all over the park, really hungry for the win and challlenged every ball with 100%, even saw Silva win a few balls from Debuchy because he was more focused and up for it. I can only dream.... Pardew: I wish he would grow a pair of balls! Both pre and post match he didn't say anything near positive and anyone would take a swipe at them above for lack of activity and for the cabaye shiiite....

Would rather see Marveaux at left hand side, but gouffran may offer a little more backtracking against Navas.... -

Jonas has a niggle and won't be risked. You can't play a kid away at Man City for his debut!! Mapou played solidly at left back last year so he is leading candidate for left back. I am more intrigued to see who will be in front of the left back: Marv, Gouff or Sammeobi??? Here's my team based on Pards' pragmatic (defensive) approach: --------------------Krul------------------- Debuchy----Taylor-----Colo------Mapou -----------Tiote-------Cabaye----------- --Hatem--------Sissoko------Gouffy--- ---------------Cisse------------------ Bench: Elliot, Anita, Marveux, Dummet, Shola, Sammy, Williamson -
I think Cabaye is being primed to be sold and therefore do not count him in my systems. I would play a 433 and 451, interchanging during the game to find the best options. 433 --------------Krul------------------- Debuchy---MYM---Colo---Santon --------------Tiote---------------- ------Sissoko------Marveux--- ---BenArfa----Cisse-------Reme-- Both fullbacks know how to push on, to do so we need some good covering by the midfield three so that gaps don't appear if countered. I don't think we have any real classical wingers so it doesn't make sense to me to play any sort of 442.

Motherwell 2 - 4 Newcastle United (FT) Post game euphoria from pg 19

Anybody who was there capable of telling us what the formation was and what the styñe of play was in both 1st and 2nd half? Big ask but would be nice... -
AYE, MINGIN... (both - in different ways!)

Banarnia more like with this troop of clowns managing us...
-
Relax! didn't literally mean we DO love him, nice turn of phrase to add reason & depth to the comments... not more/less

He does come across as a smug charlie most of the time, i wouldn't mind this if I thought he was capable of managing our team (i don't). Adding a bit of perspective to the blog and the newspaper cuttings, he is here to manage newcastle and to do that to a certain level of competance not to be judged on his personality or persona, he is not doing, in my opinion, the former... And should have been sacked for such. i think we will do OK this year in spite of Pardew at the realm, a lot of players will want to shine for the WC and this will drag us through some of his shiite coaching and tactics... oh well...
-
My thoughts on Darren Bent are that he would offer a hell of a lot more up front in comparison with Shola. people moaning about that he offers nowt else but prowess on putting them in the back of the net, well shola on a good day has problems holding the ball up and playing in other players, he's a championship footballer but we all love him cos' he gives his all and he's one of us... I am sure bent can pass to a team mate and can hold a ball up when needed to, what we are crying out for is someone to put the ball in the back of the net... 2+2 = 4

If we had a choice between monkey's heid and kinnear, I know which one i'd choose... Like everyone's saying, decent bloke, talks well and quite well respected, a huge contrast with the class A cretin!

best players in best positions.... Pards? just to name a few of his terry f***wit out of position gaffes: hatem jonas anita cabaye cisse gouff marv **

I think that a 433 would suit us best and get all three of Tiote/cabaye/Moussa offering us a ver solid middle of the park. i would be tempted to put Mbiwa at left back (looked good and attacking) and debuchy at right back to offer the width we need going forward, add hatem and goof/marv either side of Cisse and we have a team, that if coached correctly, we can destroy teams... -------------------Krul--------------------- ------------Taylor----.--Colo------------- Debuchy---------------------------Mbiwa ---------cabaye---Tiote---Sissoko----- -----Hatem-------Cisse-------Marveaux
