P.S. and would offer something going forward

Why not have murphy in there as right back, at least he has the pace to keep up with the speedy wingers and will not back off as Krafth does (err, nodoby backs off that much!!).

It is unbelievable that businesses (clubs) worth over 300M do not do the sufficient diligence to select the most important person within that business. It is still based upon how good a player they were, how friendly they come over.... it does not seem to have any relevance to how good a manger they will be, perhaps the only facet being they can get some initial respect from the players (which wears out very quickly when they realise they have an imbecile training them).

Fulham are only 7 points adrift with a game in hand. It is not unreasonable to think that if we are relegated the potential buyers will back out. Investors do not normally take such risks as a first time bounce up from the championship. I can´t see us winning another game with calum out and Cabbage face at the helm...

If it is real it must be a snidey play from Ashley to force Bruce out i.e. put another manager (DOF) in to "help" and they give the orders. Surely even Brucie Bonus wouldn´t stand for it... Great play from the fat one tho¨ (what a canniving cnut he is!).

Appalling defending against Aubemay for their first goal, backed off from the halfway line to just about our five yard box...

Love the title for the match review on Nufc.com

Can´t blame the lad, he has been the only spark we have had and has to work tirelessly to get nowt back. Fukcin Brucie Bonus playin his cards right again

I could well believe it, just listening to him talk, or attempt to talk, let´s you know that there isn´t a lot of quality grey matter upstairs. The only thing that gives me an inkling of hope that we will get rid of him is that Ashley might wake up and smell the coffee i.e. see that his end game is disappearing quickly and will react to that... then again, from past form... I must be dreaming

Shame Hayden is suspended had a great game against liverpool. I would go for Matty and Sean, although Sean has definitely looked a yard off the pace in the last couple of games.

I still watch the games whenever I can, but if I´m honest I rarely get worked up. At the moment it is frustrating to the point of wanting to strangle the placka geordie, you can see that we have the players in the squad to be playing much better football, or at least at the minimum requirement some semblance of a game plan. It is still not as bad as it was when Pardew "The King" was "reining" over us, just the sight of that creepy slimey cun* on the sideline made me feel physically sick such was the hate for him. As long as the Fat Slimeball is our owner we will never return to the top of the table. It is definitely a vendetta/grudge whatever, his treatment of our club, nothing else could vindicate his cations. For any future owners: It is very easy to see that the largest and most important investment to be made should be in our manager. Just look back at the ones who have worked and it is easy to see... Pedigree will get us back up there! Anyway, Happy & Healthy 2021 to all!!

What a pile of stinkin putrid brown stuff yesterday. Worst I have seen us play since the king was on the throne. Tactics and the way we play is schoolboy at best. With shelvey and longstiff ambling back to pick up the ball, looking in front of them to make 60 yerd passes all of the time, losing the ball in ten seconds flat and repeating ad nauseum... ffs! Nobody moving, no one twos, no triangles and movement of the team as a block together... utter dogshap! Only players to come out with a degree of respect yesterday were miggs for his effort and wilson for being our only real football player on the pitch. Clark: unable to play above leagje one for me. Feddy: decent but just at that Yedlin: dont think he made a cross all afternoon. Gets up the pitch then chickens out Dummet: championship at best. Can defend but slow and doesnt add anything goi g forward Richie: absolute gash yesterday. Everything he tried failed. Well out of sorts Shelvey: veeeerrryyyy sloooowww at everything Longstaff: must be covid fatigue? Caught with the ball loads and huffed and puffed... nowt more Miggs: ran about a lot and was ok Linton: ok, but nothing more Wilson: too good for this team

-------------------Darlow-------------------- -----Schar--------Lascelles-----Fedz---- Murphy--------------------------------Lewis ---Almiron----Longst----Hayden----ASM -----------------Wilson---------------- Only change would be Hayden for Hendricks, probably need a bit more defensive mettle in midfield for Southampton, although Hendricks probably played his best game for us against everton. If we go ahead bring on hendrick for ASM to shore it up, if we are behind bring on Fraser...

yes, the way he plays he should be great anywhere on the field as he can dribble past 2,3,4 players and get into dangerous positions. Just seems to work better for him out wide. My own personal ball ache is that you watch how hard Wilson presses and harries and then you see ASM doing his "contribution" and it kills me. If he could raise his defensive "effort" 50% he would be outstanding.
-
We had better offer him a new contract then... his current one runs out next summer!!

Best match we have played by a country mile. There was no player to really moan about today, every one of them gave a decent/good/great performance. The back three and wing backs is very defensive but it works for the style Bruce seems to want to play. It could be so much better if we moved slightly further up the pitch (as a block) rather than sit in an area covering fifty yards from goal.
-
As seen in other threads, I am in total agreement about ASM and his free role restricting him rather than adding to our attacking threat. The problem for us is that if Bruce does play him out wide he will not track back to help out the wing back. If he did, it would be a simple swap of positions between him and Almiron. Bruce is not capable of working this out, we will stay as we were on Saturday for the foreseen...

The positives from the match: 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 suits the players we have at our disposal (more so when hayden is back). Jacob Murphy has a sweet pass on him and has improved 150% Hendrick is much better as a centre midfielder, with almiron next to him and putting in a shift they looked really solid (Shelvey, take note!) The three at the back look much more comfortable than in a back four If we wanted to... we could play very positively with this formation At last, Brucey Bonus played Fraser from the start and he played well (was to be expected) The negatives from the match: ASM looked uninterested, is the laziest when defending (at least look as if you want to defend slightly). We were playing so deep that by the time our attacking players received the ball they were still inside our own half. We allow opposition centre halfs and full backs loads of time and space to initiate attacks in our own half. Could we ever think about pressing as a unit further up the pitch? Steve Bruce should have hooked ASM at half time but doesn´t have the gonads.

https://totalfootballanalysis.com/match-analysis/premier-league-202021-tottheham-vs-newcaslte-tactical-analysis-tactics Analysis of our tactics (or lack of) which leaves no doubt about the quality of management we have...

Joe Linton did ok yesterday, OK being that he put in the shift but didn´t really contribute in much of what he is supposed to do (create danger). I don´t think Bruce is doing a bad job with him, giving him minutes to build some confidence. I would love to see him come good and the only way is to build him up... Bruces´ post match comments on the tactics (lack of) for yesterday were lamentable, reminded me of Pardew tbh.

Shelvey is in the team because of the defence we have i.e. they aren´t good enough to bring the ball out. Shelvey has to drop deep to get the ball and then play a long raking pass past his midfield mates (they don´t pass the ballk out either). If we had signed Holden from arsenal it would have given us options to get rid of shelvey in the middle as he is composed on the ball. At the moment we are very "one-paced" in the middle with shelvey and hayden. I would prefer a more dynamic "pivot" next to hayden such as either hendrick or matty, someone who could actually back up the attacks and have the drive (balls...professionalism) to track back afterwards. Shelvey just doesn´t want to do the work necessary and is a "luxury"... I would rather he played a 433 or 4231: -----------Defence------------- Hendrick-----Hayden------Almiron AsM--------Wilson-------Fraser ---------Defence-------------- ------Hendrick -----Hayden--------- ASM--------Almiron---------Fraser ------------Wislon----------------
-
Thought the ref was very much against us today, gave them loads and turned his back on all of our shouts...
-
Brightons' 352 was always going to overrun us in midfield, the only ones capable of quick pressing are hendrick and hayden, hence the virtual non possession. Brucey also should have played his quicker agile players up front (almiron/fraser) as they have big centre backs. He just doesnt get tactical footbal... P.s. Carrol seemed to be walking for most of the 1st half.

Would go with following: ASM wilson fraser Hendrick Shelvey Hayden Lewis lascellles fernandez manquillo Darlow
