Next year he'll not even be in the top 3 imo, he's really gone off the boil at Madrid this season, and no international tournaments to save him. Just the 12 in 17 this season with no pre-season Bugger all by his standards tbh, isn't he taking over 10 shots a game on average now too? His ratio was atrocious at the start of the season.

I don't know how many genuinely rate him. He's not improved at all since he joined the club, he's not learnt to lift his head since he's been here, has no situational awareness and doesn't have a clue what to do with the ball until after it's taken off him rather than before he gets it. He's got lovely technique and ability, but if you play blindfolded you're rarely gonna be any use in a real situation. His lack of pace also exacerbates his inability to find space and keep the ball.

I also want Palace to get relegated to send Townsend down, just to ram it in his face what a shit decision joining Alan Pardew's Crystal Palace was. Would have him back in a flash mind, just needs his comeuppance.

Been listening to this. As I suspected, Carr wasn't really to blame for some of our s*** signings and he has been under exactly the sort of restrictions that some of us suspected he was. The sort of restrictions that force him to buy players unfit for purpose for considerable sums of money? Aye, OK. You should probably listen to it before launching into your default of arrogant ignorance like. Haven't listened at all, but I wasn't a Carr basher, I presumed he'd be doing the job of any scout, which is to prepare a selection of targets and rank them on suitability/cost. Not his fault if the club kept going for the worst options in the end. If he provides no options, he'd not be in a job mind.

Ironically, he'd be the ideal No. 10 for us in Rafa's system, but that'd be like relying on Andy Carroll as your target man. Never fit, no point.

Would be canny to see them, Palace and Sunderland all down this year. They can't all hire Allardyce to get them back up.
