Must admit the thought of Sir Jim Ratshit even thinking about a bid of £150m did make me chuckle. This is a bloke who probably walks a mile and back to Aldi to save petrol money.
-
But still a cunt, that was my point.
-
Wish two month holiday abroad were doable tbh. Would be just perfect.
-
Not really. It just means we think he's still a cunt.
-
Don't rate Anderson that much either, but would be lying if I said I knew much about Elanga. At least it beats waking up to stories about Liverpool buying Gordon or selling Isak to Chelsea.
-
All the journos piling into Newcastle

We couldn't shift him in January either, either the interest wasn't there or he didn't want to move. That might change next month, in the meantime we'll have to sell a bright young prospect who I would have hoped could have replaced Miggy next season. RW is a high priority position for us, it's a shame if we have to sell someone who's already on our books because Miggy wants to stay regardless of whether he's first choice or not.

Hopefully some creative accounting to allow both clubs to stick two fingers up to PSR.
-
What that tells you: - Minteh seems to be very highly rated around Europe - a large portion of our squad don't The caveat is that might be because of those players ages/wages. The downside is that they are older and more expensive for us to keep as well despite not being good enough.
-
If we can sell that then the PSR rules aren't worth the paper they are written on.
-
A few things give a clue to Minteh's potential. A video where he showed good finishing ability, albeit that is subjective and highlight videos can only tell you so much Arne Slot rates him and was sniffing around, that gives you first hand knowledge Lyon have bid big money for him although the £40m mentioned seems ridiculously high He's actually played CL football and done well
-
Yes, which is why I'm happy to see him sold as we will be better off with a younger replacement who hopefully will be less injury prone. I don't know why people seem to be pissed off about him moving on, I actually respect him not wanting to hang around playing second fiddle just picking up his wages.
-
Maybe, but could we not have arranged a bigger slice of the pie for him to make it more palatable? No one really knows, but we don't want to end up with a situation where players are just running down their contracts then leaving for free.
-
Yes I agree, but that just means we have to be able to see these things coming and take age and wages into account. Miggy and Trippier could have been prospectively sold in January, I just wonder how hard nose we were about it, and whether Howe's valuation of their leadership etc might have made us too soft to push them through.

A fit Callum Wilson's still one of the PL's best strikers.
-
That is actually the value of Murphy, he gives us that option to get to the byline and cross it which doesn't seem to come naturally to most of our RW options.
-
He's earned the right to be centre of attention tbf, he walks the walk....except when he's injured and he probably barely walks at all. If he leaves at least he's not digging his heels in and playing out his contract like some of our deadweights. We can use the fee to buy a replacement.
-
It's a bitter pill to swallow, but we are still at a stage where these richer clubs can conceivably turn the heads of our best players. I'm sure no one at the club likes it, but the PL are doing everything in their power to keep the scales balanced in favour of the cartel clubs. Not that much of a surprise since they've bankrolled the PL for the past 20 years so they have more clout than is let on publicly.
-
What a time to be alive! Seriously all it really shows is the real value of some our current first teamers.
-
He was a tory because basically the money was the bottom line. When the Arabs, Americans and the Chinese were buying up everything, that was the time to complain. Now watch him fuck off to some tax dodge island outside of France like his mate Sir Jim Ratshit while claiming to love this green and pleasant land.
-
We were looking for two positions anyway from what we were led to believe, I suppose one of those would be to deal with the infrastructure, and the other would be more geared to recruitment. I think Howe's got a good eye for players anyway, but his focus is more on PL ready players, we need someone who is an expert on the foreign market.
-
I'd be a bit worried it would just end up with Howe running the show. Much though I love Howe as a manager, we really do need some separation between DOF and the coach.
-
And squad strength. Just compare their benches to ours last season.

Seems fine to me. Krafth is a good defender, even if he's not great on the ball. Tino is the other way round, although I think he's had enough experience to be good defensively as well.
