  1. I'm sticking with the idea that one of the sales was necessary but we saw enough value in both to follow through. In simple terms we needed to make a £35m profit this year to balance off 2 lots of £70m losses. We achieved that with £55m of sales (ASM and one of yesterday's deals). We start this year with a £70m loss and a £35m profit so have a £70m loss to play with. We should see some sales this summer and hopefully a few new sponsorship deals to bring in a further £15m-£20m and then have a really fun summer. Basically needing to sell late in June for last year does not mean we have no money to spend this season
  2. But as they do we get to see a Windows to their soul
  3. We could have training kit, training ground, couple of the executive boxes etc which combine could come to £30m if we are testing boundaries
  4. It’s more than probable that we needed to sell one of Minteh or Anderson but feel the values are sufficiently high to have both go through, creating a little more headroom for the next 2 years
  5. With the appropriate buying clubs we should be looking £15m a piece, maybe £20m for Wilson. but who the fuck knows how much a player is valued at these days
  6. We needed to clear a £35m profit to stay in the £105m total. so it’s pretty safe to say we’ve made a profit this year
  7. imo it would make more sense to have all clubs move to a 31st May year end and have the season and accounting period aligned that way. all transfer activity relates to the coming or present season rather than the one just gone (which would happen if the psr deadline moved to August)
  8. That picture just reminds me on how much Miggy does not suit tattoos
  9. Hear me out on this one…. June 30th has become a mini deadline day and we’ve seen some high fees paid when you wouldn’t normally at this stage. perhaps the club are thinking to next season and with no European football have latched onto a way to get a few extra quid. realistically if Minteh wasn’t sold now we ain’t getting more than £33m in the summer and the likely scenario was another loan, perhaps the club are thinking the same and have just released an extra £10m a year into the losses pot. of course you’d need to get some noise about possible breaches into the league so clubs who wouldn’t normally think they can compete for a signing like this come forward.
  10. If we can get a few quid from Wilson, Longstaff and Tripps then id keep Miggy as backup next season and let him go a free. If only because my boys love him
  11. id say we haven’t been scrambling around last minute on Minteh, it’s a sale we’ve been lining up all month. let’s take it as a given that we have to sell in any given year, we can sell at the beginning and work to the income received or sell at the end of the year if certain things don’t pan out. A lot of clubs will make that decision and it’s fair for our club to work on the basis of performing well and therefore revert to a plan of selling now. June sales are going to become more common as clubs walk the tightrope, the majority are an injury away from needing an unplanned purchase and then forced sale
  12. Our CFO is pretty well regarded but if I absolutely have to I’ll take the job on
  13. Yeah, that’s the point, we’ve already taken the hit on their wages until the end of the contracts, if we shifted them and didn’t have to pay them then you reverse that and get a benefit. you don’t see anything on the transfer fee amortisation unless you get a fee just wages
  14. Because pretty much all clubs have a June year end so it keeps it clean, and the PSR period is actually a season so the accounting date works as a good proxy for that. its pretty fair to consider transfer activity to be for the coming season as well
  15. Or we bring back the big Joe/little Joe combo down that side
  16. There’s no way we are that far in the eed on PSR to need to sell Minteh and AN Other, I’m not even convinced we have breached without the sale and this is just making sure in case the PL play silly buggers with anything such as the Aussie tour. another thing we could have done - and could still do to release some benefit over the summer is to agree free transfers for the likes of Hayden and Fraser and releasing the wages provision that we’ve booked. Only a couple of million in it but every little helps
  17. Said it first game, that long sleeved Germany shirt is fucking lush
  18. I doubt he’d ever have had the playing time here to get to £60m in 2 years, we may as well bank the £33 and hopefully have a sell on or buy back. its the same as with Toney, had we kept him he would never have become the player he is now. anyway, we still have our Aussie superstar to put all hopes onto
  19. That’s like asking would you rather give a blowjob to Hulk Hogan or a pounding from Andre the Giant
  20. tbf that one is a belta. round the campfire, beer in hand level conversation is section 23
  21. Looks like we may sell. theres nothing to say that we are driving the sales, just as likely that we have been approached
  22. There’s no guarantee that he’d get the game time here to build his value that high so it’s pointless worrying about what he might be worth at another club. we either think he can be first or second choice rw here and then should look to keep him or we just see potential and then probably should sell him when the fee feels high to what he has delivered so far
