  1. Can't wait for Mikel Arteta to tell us he's been one of the most influential ceos of the last century.
  2. People also complained about Mike Ashleys treatment of workers but are happy about Saudi Arabia owning us. Let's be honest, the upset was about Mike Ashley more than about anything else. I don't think it's that hypocritical to not want Sports Direct Arena as the stadium name given it's a shitty brand, and shitty name, owned by a shitty owner that was paying nothing for it. Whereas this could be a means to an end, where due to fair play, if we want to start to challenge financially at the top we need to find ways of making more commercial income and this is one possible way. It's at least worth the discussion and I don't think makes a hypocrit of anyone.
  3. It also massively encourages piracy. Perhaps a better system to protect the pyramid would be to allow for saturday 3pm matches but ensure greater revenue sharing down the pyramid from what is earned.
  4. The one thing I find crazy in this whole thing is how everyone is taking it forgranted that we are going to be one of the dominant teams in the league. Klopp says it there, but also I remember on TalkSport someone suggested we might sign Kane in the summer and they took it seriously. Someone even basically said it's a big 5, with Newcastle, Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool. It's just insane when you hear it. I hope it ends up being true.
  5. While he's not who I want for the job, I think he did a decent job in his first year at Chelsea with a transfer embargo and brought through a couple of youth players that are now key parts of the squad. The second season they bought loads of quality players and he failed to integrate them, which he rightly got sacked for, but that doesn't undo other good work he's done. I think he's a decent young manager.
  6. I think there will be some of those, but there will be some of the Toney's too.
  7. Last season their expected goals and expected points stats were WAY higher than where they ended up and this season they are doing very well. I am not 100% sure about him, but I think there is probably a good manager there who will manage at a higher level in future.
  8. I think you've set your sights too high for right now. Toney is a quality talent and someone that could grow with the club over the next few years. We aren't going to be going out and buying Haaland and the likes right now. Signing the best players from outside the top six will be part of the process. Much like Man City initially did with the likes of Bridges and Barry.
  9. I mostly agree with this. But a lot of people are "fans" of Disney. They take part in Disney forums, wear their clothes and such forth. So I don't think that example is ENTIRELY different. Though it's still somewhat different obviously.
  10. I think the Super League has brought a little more into conciousness and obviously the relative wealth we're talking about is extreme in terms of our owners. It's also just becoming more and more of an issue as the years go on and the "Big Six" have made a few attempts at a kind of coup of football (both super league and project big picture). There's also that government review happening. So it's all way more relevant now than ever before.
  11. I don't think he's being judgemental at all. He repeatedly says the fans deserve the success and should enjoy it. Really it's just him stating that football is fucked and their needs to be something in place so even the likes of Norwich and Brentford could hope to one day compete at the top. Which is right. Football is completely fucked and I am glad that at least now we can compete despite how shite it is. However, it would be much better if we could somehow implement restrictions so that it would have been possible for us to have eventually won the league without needing the backing of a nation state. Which we never would have done ever without.
  12. Apparently, as part of the deal, in the short term the SD signs have to stay up.
  13. Amanda doing an interview with SSN within the hour.
  14. Has anyone even confirmed the PIF are still interested?
  15. This whole thing about it not being about piracy and it's just that the saudi state proved they won't be in control, it really does emphasise how badly we fans have been screwed by utter fucking corruption.
  16. Desperately waiting for the right moment to come out with "wide of the mark".
  17. All this news seems to be lining up nicely for a Friday 3pm announcement I think. Hopefully HTT will be around soon to confirm.
  18. The website is just carrying over from last season. For example Jesse Lingard is showing as being on loan at West Ham for this season too.
  19. I saw on Facebook that Bill Gates is trying to microchip us through COVID vaccine's, which is more believable than that image.
  20. God, he's going to bring the letter's out like Carver showing off Colo's letter.
  21. VERY surprised any member of the public was able to get that close to the stadium nevermind the players entrance. SJP has been within a secured zone for months now? I was thinking the same. Probably one of the players that chucked it.
  22. A player relegated twice in the last two seasons. Obviously wants the hat trick.
  23. Three loaves of bread. One for each member of the consortium. The bread took a long time to "prove" like it took a long time to prove the seperation of PIF from the Saudi state. It's clear as day.
  24. I really don't know what I am looking at on that FlightRadar, but I'm going to say it's heading to Dammam. edit: although I just clicked on a random small flight about to land in Dubai and it's taken literally the exact same flight path that Ashley's plane is now on.
