  1. Why did one have to go? You could argue because they can't work together..... either Cisse is outwide and quite frankly useless or Ba and Cisse are up top and the whole team can't function. Despite the dreams of rotating Ba and Cisse it was never going to happen under this management so maybe in the long run shipping Ba out for someone who could you actually make the attack function as Ba and Cisse have never really functioned together. Will probably end up with egg on our faces but that's the rationale behind it i believe. I'm not even on about rotation per se. Again, despite everybody here getting a hard on for 433/451, that doesn't seem to be the formation Pardew favours most of the time, rightly or wrongly. I completely fail to see why we couldn't have two quality strikers. Isn't that the least any Premiership club aiming for Europe should have? People have a hard on for it because it's what suits the majority of our best players if they are put in the right positions anyway.... Pardew has used almost exclusively since the Southampton defeat and i know it hasn't brought results ( mainly due to injuries and other factors so players are out of position) but i feel performances have performed. I agree but it was never going to happen, as a two they don't work and you know what this board is like..... In an ideal scenario i'd like to see us bring in a forward to play wide, rotate Ba and Cisse for central striker spot but Ashley will never sanction that in a million years. I'm still skeptical because im not confident in this board doing the right thing but if we bought a winger-cum striker like Remy to replace him and put Cisse back in the centre i'd believe the team would have actually improved. I share your skepticism. When have they ever replaced an important player in the same window? Only one I remember since Ashley took over is Nolan/Cabaye. Nolan was replaced by Cabaye in the same window. Yes, that was what I was saying.. Was pointing out that you answered your own question but in all seriousness. Carroll and Ba were in the same window. Enrique and Santon were in the same window as well I believe. The reason he was laughing is that Carroll and Ba were not in the same window.
  2. I can't imagine why not. His price tag has surely gone up since summer unfortunately. Only six months left on his contract though right? Can't be costing too much surely.
  3. According to the wiki, was released in October 2011, came out in November 2011, hasn't played a professional game of football since.
  4. the two widest players in a diamond midfield according to the internet.
  5. Everyone who argues against it (that i've heard) seem to completely misunderstand the point. They go on about it as if it's a return of terracing and packing them in. From what I understand everyone still has a seat (the same size as usual) but it's lockable in an up position and there is a metal bar in front that you can lean against when standing. This means that you can stand all game but sit during the intervals and there is no danger of falling forward. I don't see how it makes it anything other than safer. It's really a classic case of "I don't care about the facts, I have an opinion."
  6. Na, it was a cut job, hid the razor blade in his wristband. Classic WWE.
  7. This line is great Those bold enough to defend him insist it was pure instinct, as if that makes it better. It doesn't, because that means his natural instinct is to cheat.
  8. Can't be, he's legally proven to be illiterate and unable to use technology.
  9. Would you be saying that after Cisse's first 15 games last season?
  10. What a scoop. I'd love it if he decided not to make an "honest admission". What you on about? I've scored 30 already. 2 goals my arse.
  11. Great through ball by Walker for Aguero. lol
  12. It said "Sordell is a C***" because of claims he was racially abused by Millwall fans.
  13. The whole cathedral to be a city is an old thing and isn't true anymore, they have given out city status on a few occasions to cities without cathedrals. I think Preston is one.
  14. We're losing all our purples! We have five winnable games coming up in the league, normally i'd want at least 11 points from them but with the injuries and suspensions we're picking up it'll be really tough. Overall I don't think our season has been too bad in terms of results. We've had one result which was slightly better than I expected and three that were slightly worse so we're down about four points on what I would have thought we should be aiming for. It's the performances that aren't improving that is so worrying.
  15. Shola is obviously the weak point, doesn't have the pace, vision and passing ability of those around him.
  16. I don't think so, we've passed it around quite a bit today and often brought it out from the back. The goal was very route one obviously but that's not the entire half.
  17. I know the exact song was sung for Christian Daily at West Ham.
  18. Aye it is starting to look like Man City knew exactly what they were doing getting rid of him. I think he's just a player who neutral/MOTD fans rate very highly but fans who watch him every week think he's average. Still think in time he'll be their best player. Was that a very clever quip about no sunderland fan watches the match live, or just a damning indictment of the quality of Sunderland players?
  19. There was a fair amount last transfer window. Things like Alex Ferguson being angry at the 20m price tag and such.
  20. From The BBC. Well, that's nice. I suppose they didn't realise we had three players playing in that game. Why would Man City comment on our players? Probably read it the same way as I did originally as "a premier league statement".
  21. Too sensible and looks nice. Advertisers want their name to stand out like a sore thumb in eye catching and ugly ways. So now we're able to get rid of the annoying black/white patch so we can see the sponsor, people want it back?
