It's not specifically about the position in the league with Pardew. He's had 3 full seasons here. The first one was a very good league result, the second was a very poor league result, this one is essentially on par given the squad he has available. Everything else surrounding that has been poor, which is why I don't want him at the club.

Eh, not sure that's true. Had a look through a fair few ex players quotes and most were remarkably positive. Not that that means owt if the football is bollocks mind. I remember a few on the radio slating him when he first joined us. I imagine he's not popular with Jose Fonte either.

Quite a few of Pardew's ex-players don't seem to like him.

3 defenders, a striker who can't score and Marveaux who couldn't care less is not a good bench. Instead of moaning about it, go searching for a team outside the top 6 who you would swap for instead of criticising our players. Outside the top 6? I'd probably swap for Man Utd's squad. Sorry, i meant top 6 Man Utd/Man City/Chelsea/Arsenal/Spurs/Liverpool... Yes obviously i would swap Man Utd's though for ours. Ok, i'd probably have Everton's then (less obvious than Man Utd but still stronger in depth and in the first 11).

So we're missing our 3 top goalscorers who've scored 75% of our goals this season. Excellent.

If a club like Man City can spend like they have and not fall afoul of FFP then the system is definitely pointless.

We played plenty last season and did very little. He started 6 of the first 7 games this season and did nothing. It's not just the goals it's the all round performance. He might come good, but I don't see it personally. It's like everyone waiting for Torres to come good again and start scoring like his first season at Liverpool. At what point do you accept that the player is not getting back to that, at least at this club. I don't think you can give him another 10 starts in a row when he's playing like he is really.

It's hardly knee jerk, he's played very poorly for a long time now. Much longer than he played well for the club. I don't see why it's a problem to say 7m is good money or he'll still probably play poor in a 442.
