  1. Oh my God. This lad is actually going to special, isn't he?
  2. For me I think it's just the fact that his set pieces in general are so fantastic. As you say we've had players that could score a lovely free kick but how many of them could so consistently cause danger on top of that from an indirect free kick or corner? His goal just seemed to perfectly cap off a match where I can't think of many instances where he didn't hit a team mate from a set piece or at the very least, cause Everton to panic in the penalty box. The goal just felt deserved for him. And by God the more I watch it back the more I love the celebration. He seems to already love it at the club.
  3. Hard worker and gets involved but it feels like his flick ons never seemed to go near anyone, mix that in with not looking like he can score and its just extremely underwhelming. Still important for us right now, even by proxy and in spite of it being a panic buy
  4. Every time he'd go on his run I was just waiting for him to get dispossessed and it just.. never happened. Unreal performance.
  5. Very pleased with this pick up if this is his standard performance. There were a couple of moments that made me nervous early in the match. I later accepted it's because I'm not used to such competence where he made things so much more comfortable than the likes of Ritchie and Lewis.
  6. I'll drop slightly to a 4 now. Now on to getting some breathing space, hopefully.
  7. Just got a text from my Everton mate asking 'I thought people said Joelinton was a bit of a player now?' and love that I could reply 'yeah he's a CM now because when he gets in the opposition's box he does things like kicking the ball in to his own face'. Can't even be mad at the guy anymore.
  8. Poor Joe. Jesus Christ. Although we complain ASM holds on to the ball too much sometimes, you can see why he persists sometimes when that happens if he gives up the ball.
  9. Fraser with more power in his header than Wood. Ain't that something.
  10. Couple of minutes behind on my live TV but love Trippier's reaction to that foul on Fraser. We need our players to actually start sticking up for themselves against these shithouse referees and Trippier with the biggest reputation is the man to lead that.
  11. I've now decided as soon as the match kicks off he's going to sub him on for Shelvey for shits and giggles.
  12. I can see an argument for the fact he's only physically been at the club four days, and that's straight after an international break in which he had to travel to South America. Presumably he also had to faff around with a detour to France, too? Equally, I assume a physically and mentally exhausted Bruno is still an improvement on Shelvey and Willock.
  13. Can't decide if I've missed the nervous excitement of a match day or not. This is easily the most agitated I've been for a post-takeover match to start.
  14. Fingers crossed its not too long before you see a reboot with a new lead.
  15. Gave a little bit of reason for the omission which might explain his decision to turn down a loan if he feels he'd rather use it as a chance to get right before next season. https://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/eddie-howe-reveals-he-left-jamal-lewis-out-of-newcastle-uniteds-premier-league-squad-3557506
  16. I'd rather shift ASM up tbh. Neither in any way ideal but feels like we'd lose way more than we'd gain by shifting Jo back up there compared to ASM.
  17. Feels like a stupid question but presumably even if we could wangle an ageing striker for a bit of extra back up, there's no possible route to get him registered now?
  18. Suppose it would make sense that any gardening leave would line up for him to officially start his role at the end of the season? Even if that's the case, you'd figure some unofficial prep will already be well under way by then. Seems to be well rated so fingers crossed.
  19. Probably not but I guess ASM would've just had to get used to his new role off the bench, wouldn't he?
  20. In the same boat as Yorkie, never knew of Leicester fans as particularly more cunty than any other fanbase. But then then I've never really had any direct experience of them. Shameful scenes in those videos today either way.
  21. Nah that comment will be readily forgotten by his pals when the inevitable soundbites start coming about the squad needing investment.
  22. I'm not going to subject myself to the interview but that certainly reads like the bitter goblin he is. 12th and 13th may not be so bad after all? As long as you didn't destroy the club beyond repair we won't be 'aiming' anywhere near 12th and 13th from next season you utter drip.
