Played under SAF, lucked his way to a job like the 100's of other players who played under him becasue "surley they can replicate what SAF did", got a few teams promoted a century ago and still riding the wave that he's some supposed promotion expert.

If there's no concerns about his health he will play, but medical team needs to be really diligent. Lots of players (or is it only our players?) who are out for a long time often get another seemingly unrelated injury shortly after getting back from the initial one. His bones being healed may not mean his muscles or tendons are ready for the strain of a PL match after being inactive for so long. I've also heard of players coming back from a long injury getting back problems if one foot/leg all of a sudden have to do more work than it used to etc so they need to take their time with him. He's going to be so important for us next season.

Would anyone take Digne over him now if given the choice?

What a weird thing to get hung up on A few games ago there was a stat shown on the screen that he had the second fastet top speed recorded that game for us so he's clearly not slow. He may not be the quickest, but it isn't something that puts him at a disadvantage like more limited players such as Cack, Ritchie, Hendrick etc who would benefit much more than Bruno by being physically blessed to make up their short comings. The guy seems to be elite level through and through, and a great person on top of it. Just enjoy him.

Difficult to say from watching on telly, but I got the impression that he was clapped off the field, and the boos were for the cunt faced twat that came on?

Agreed, but can't help but think we'd hear more from people of other clubs if our players that went out on loan were any good Regardless of reason, it's great to get updates from @North Somerset Gas

CL finals with two teams from the same country is always boring imo, even if the quality of the game is good.
-
He's allegedly on £130k now, and assume he'd be after at least a 3 year deal on more than that. Quite high risk for somone who's 30 this year and so reliant on his pace and physicality.

Phrasing it as some sort of arrogance if you don't want XYZ player seems very weird to me. If we got Trossard in I'd welcome and root for him, but before it's a fact that he's here I want to see something new and exciting at Newcastle next season, young players with potential to be soley associated with Newcastle as we build a future trophy winning team. Trossard, Lingaard, Zaha we've seen them playing for years, they won't develop any further. They will marginally improve our team in the short term but none of them will improve us long term and will need to be replaced within ~2 seasons. Brennan Johnson may turn out not to be as good as them, but for now at least he has the potential to be much greater than all of them and unless he completely flops Ali Dia style we'd easily find potential suitors who'd take a chance on him due to young age and what he's done at Forest. If we got Zaha or Lindgaard in and they flop, who'd take a 30+ year old winger on +£150k a week off our books? None.

Fair to assume people calling them twats because they ooze the vibe of dressing like that intentionally just to show off how little they care about what others think, rather than wearing the clothes because they like the style or comfort of them? That's my first feeling at least when looking at pictures people post of them on here, before settling with the thought that I don't really care either way and everyone should just wear whatever tf they want....and I don't know anything about which clothes are cool or trendy anymore. My only requirement for pants these days is that they need some sort of stretch material.

He had a release clause that was triggered didn't he? If I remember correct, that probably means no sell on fee.

You should know by now that we don't do nuances or context on here. Might as well double down and go full pro-Ronaldo.

Will never criticize a player for leaving in order to play regularly, and wish more of our less gifted players would take a page out of his book. The only reason he came here in the first place was because he didn't get as much game time at Dortmund as he wanted, so it's quite naive to expect him to stay here under the same conditions. He has experience in the league so he knows what to expect, he still knows the area and some of the players and staff that are still here, so if he wanted to come back and we are interested, I'd view him as less of a risk than bringing in someone completely new.
-
Don't think homesickness was a big part of why he wanted to leave in the first place. It was obviously because of not getting a sniff of game time due to Shelvey and Diame being in fantastic form. However, even if he was homesick back then, he's obviously more mature now.

Most fit player in the squad? Looked shredded in the post match photo.
-
He wouldn't be a regular for Man City, Liverpool or Chelsea, but then again not many are due to how they rotate their squads. I'm fairly certain though that he'd have enough playing time to be considered an integral part of their first team. Btw, any idea who the kid he lifted up during the goal celebration on Friday was? Generally agree, but pelanties are a skill that can be mastered even if you don't have the best technique. Post-Shearer there's not a player in any of our teams I'd want to take penalties ahead of Shola. He was absolutely clinical, got them right past the root of the post into the side netting with power consistently. Keepers didn't have a chance even if they guessed the right corner. Don't think he missed a penalty for us?

Would love Merino back here. Don't think him slotting into a midfield together with Bruno would be any issue at all. If I remember correctly he's left footed as well, which we don't have in CM atm.

Foden a joy to watch. An example for all young small technical players in England how much further you can get by focussing on getting faster and stronger to add to your footballing ability.

We'd be lucky to find anyone willing to take Gayle and Clark on a free imo. Lewis and Hayden, who even we couldn't justify a squad place for, maybe £5m each from a mid-top CL club or newly promoted PL team? Most likely they'll have better options though. Maybe I'm overly pessimistic, but if we manage to get rid of Clark, Lewis, Gayle, Hendrick, Hayden, Dummett, Krafth and one of Lascelles/Schar, while obviosuly trimming the wage bill quite a bit, in terms of transfer fees to re-invest we'd maybe sit with ~£20m in total?
-
For all his limitations, we'd be 4 points shorter without his 2 goals. If we go on a poor run for the rest of the season those 2 goals could prove to be worth the £25m we paid for him alone. I don't think we'd be better off if we played Gayle (if he had managed to stay fit for the same number of minutes Wood has played, which I doubt) instead.

Benitez with a 8-10 minutes interview pitch side by Norwegian PL broadcaster.
