I always feel sad when I see Luque mentioned in these discussions. He was fantastic at Depor and was at his peak when we got him. Even though there's these rumours that came later about how FS negotiated that deal and that we apparently could have gotten him for like £6-7m, I still at the time thought we got him on the cheap. He showed glimpses of being a good player in his first or second appearance against Man Utd before he got injured, and never recovered properly. Think he would have been great here if not for the unfortunate injury.

Love it when footballers has based takes.

I hope for your sake this is the main thing most take away after this. Obviously very dissapointing, but England has had a fantastic tournament and you should be proud.

,Happy for Italy. Gutted for Saka.

Who are these players Italy are putting on? Sounds like PES regens. Never heard of any of them

Very italian defending.

Guess I was wrong, my stereotyping got the best of me Shame to see him off. Great player.

Great performance by Chiesa. I almost believe he's in actual pain.
-
My thought too. He's been running around like a man possessed for 70 minutes. Henderson good sub to put on in his place.

Maybe I haven't paid enough attention this championship, but when did England start fielding Dawson Leery in goal?

Shaw started and ended the attack. Great wing back play.

He will stay. First interview after they leave: He'll brag about how he brought in the players in the first place, with Ashleys blessing, to emphasize how good he is at spotting talent and how generous Ashley is. Then he'll go on and say something about being sad they are leaving but that it was impossible to hold onto them. He'll end it with saying something about Ashley promising funds for replacements. Towards the end of the transfer window, he'll probably get one decent player & a couple of freebies and loans in and say that it's a difficult market but that he's happy with what he's got and that there were funds available from Ashley for more signings. We'll look certain for the drop again but somehow scrape some unimaginable wins that keeps us 15th-17th yet again.

Spurs seems to be a few years behind Newcastle. Hope the Poch sacking was their SBR moment and it's a slow, painful and obvious descent into obscurity for the next 15-16 years.

Three awful takes imo. Disagree with all of them. Funny how things change: https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/3361219/robert-lewandowski-arturo-vidal-thiago-alcantara-bayern-munich-real-madrid/

Media should really just call it a survival fund rather than a war chest

Aye, the look of despair in their faces is brutal to watch. The terror in Eriksons eyes as he was falling to the ground as well. Hope he pulls through. They can't continue the match, and the broadcast needs to end. I'm turning off. My thoughts with Eriksen, his family, friends and team mates.

I seem to recall he was injured when we sold him, and seemingly he never got over it as he kept getting injured over and over again. We probably sold at the absolute best time we could have.
-
It's 1 year since they got rid of Suarez though. What's your point?
-
I'd be surprised if we managed to get him off our books, be it by selling or mutual termination. He's the new Colback. Free signing on wages probably three times higher, if not more, than he could get anywhere else. He'll see out his contract here. Maybe get a loan to some mid table championship club after next season. He'll only be 32 by the time his contract expires so will most likely not have any problems getting another ok 2-3 year deal with a smaller club in a division or two down before hanging up his boots.

Same. Dream scenario for me is they break out and form their own league, get thrown out of all other competitions, super leage fails miserably and eventually gets disbanded. All teams that particiapted has to start at lowest tier in their respective countries. However the super league will take a fair chunk of sponsorship/viewership from Premier League which results in all clubs having to cut wages, broadcasters has to lower their subscription fees to retain viewers which results in even more wage cuts having to be made to keep the top clubs alive. Kind of like a soft reset. I know it's naive. The super league will probably be a huge success because consumers will never act on their collective power to make the world a better place.

Considering the years before where we mainly used Hughes and Griffin, Carr was a massive upgrade to the right back position. He got old quick though and he definitely got one more season that he should have. Was a massive relief when Beye replaced him.

Ah, right. That explains it Ethics put aside, if I was Real/Chelsea/Man Utd etc. and had the money to buy him this summer in order to avoid other potential suitors to join the chase in a year it's a no brainer really. I wouldn't feel certain that he would chose them over f.ex Liverpool or Juventus etc next summmer. I really hope the "bubble" we've been waiting on to burst, bursts soon.

Maybe it's posted in earlier pages so soz if Giggs, but didn't Haaland get a relatively low buy out clause with Dortmund similar to what he had at Salzburg?

1. Replace manager & let him bring in whomever he wants within whatever budget is available for coaching staff & players 2. Wash St. James' Park 3. Improve training facilities 4. Improve youth facilities
