A considerable upgrade on Dubravka. I hope he stays fit.

It’s just all graft and no guile though. He really shouldn’t be starting for us.

We were / are in an ideal position to build on the last 5 months of last season. If we fail to do that, and essentially go backwards, why would we be in a better position 12 months on?

I don’t think people realise the implications of us finishing in basically the same position as last season. We won’t hold on to our top players if we don’t show progression and 10th absolutely isn’t progression. We were 3 points off 8th last season despite our campaign only really starting in November.

Probably spells the end of his career here.

He strikes a ball better than a lot of the players in front of him, to be fair.

If you think our better players won’t be requesting moves away if we finish 10th you’re dreaming. 8th minimum.

Honestly, something will have gone seriously wrong if we finish 10th given we should be hugely improved on last season.

Feels like most of his time here has been epilogue. But a brilliant signing overall given his fantastic contribution in the Championship. A good bloke too.

Quite surprised so many are questioning whether it’ll be Schar or Burn partnering Botman. Surely there’s no argument for Schar to be left out for Burn?

Hooper’s distribution was literally the best thing about him.

I know Dubravka had his fanboys and more power to you, but I’ve also seen 4 years of Dubravka here and plenty of Pope and it’s a big upgrade. Keeper’s an important position and you need consistency back there. Pope could be our keeper for 4 years or so and Dubravka has clearly been on the slide for a while. It’s obviously a good thing to build a foundation from that we can rely on while we improve the rest of the side going forward.

I’d certainly rather Ryan Fraser start than us keep Dubravka in over Pope.

You say rated highly in this league. By who? He’s an acceptable goalkeeper clearly on the slide who isn’t quite good enough for the next level.

A top keeper in what context? I like Dubravka and he’s done a good job overall here but if you look at our best 11 prior to Pope signing he’d unquestionably be the weakest link within that.

Better keeper than Dubravka. Good signing.

Literally the wealthiest club in the world and you’re making a case for Chris Wood to figure, man. He’ll be 4th choice at best next season or out the door.

I like him, he definitely has a bit about him and will only get better under Howe. Good news.

Thought he was mediocre at best when he signed. I was wrong. Hopefully a Championship side offers us daft money.
