That's silly. Any employee, when told by their boss, "actually we don't give much of a toss if you do the job properly or not. In actual fact we'd prefer it if you didn't, in case you do too well and we need to hire some more staff" is going to take the attitude that the players have. That's the danger we face by not preparing to operate like a sporting institution. What mess are you talking about btw? Just the general embarrassment that is the last 2 years. As you say, the players don't care or try because they know they don't have to and it has led to some of the of the worst performances we've ever seen, a fair number of those in 2014 alone. Just because the bosses accept this from their players it doesn't mean we should though. True, but if you're going to try to implement a philosophy of imposing your game on the opposition and not worry about nullifying them, that'll happen, especially in the early days. Oh absolutely, I don't think Sherwood is a terrible manager, I just think he's a bit naive tactically tbh. Think he needs more experience and Spurs isn't the right place for it as they're not nice to their managers. Do think Pochettino is an excellent appointment. He did well in Espanyol and a very good job with Southampton who played above their level. Basically agree. I'm not fully sold on Pochettino but he's done a very good job at Soton, no doubt.
