  1. Arsenal in the F.A Cup a few years back, ended 1-1 at home. Acuna and McClenn in the middle of the park and we were expected to get whopped. We played fantastic those two in particular and kept Vieira quiet. Should have won but Seaman played very well. Also, the 2-1 defeat to Chelsea at Wembley with Rob Lee's header. Probably one of the best perfromances I've seen and was very proud that day the way we attacked them, but they had Poyet and he certainly don't like us!! Vey unlucky that day.
  2. Right, just wanted to see if anyone was similar to me in their views that IF Chelsea were to sign Kaka for 70million and Robinho for 30million, would it make you sick of football in this league? I would never stop loving and watching Newcastle United fanatically but it kind of gets like feeling what's the point? Yes we are nowhere near to catching the top four but it is the fact that if we were to ever do so again, we will have to spend near 100million ourselves and it just gets to the point where it all seems hopeless. Even in 2000 when we finished 11th, next year we bought Robert and Bellamy and finished 4th. That just won't happen now due to the huge amounts of money going into the top four continually so their squads are unrivalled. I'm just personally fed up of it all, although it may just be frustration as we haven't done much in the market yet!
  3. All is not right at the club. This Dennis Wise scenario is questionable, the overdrive on wage reductions, the season tickets increase, our sluggish progress in the transfer market (Arda & Arshavin could have been ours by now). These are just a few things I am concerned by, although there is no need to hit the panic button just yet .........
  4. Yes because it becomes tiring and monotonous of reading through threads which are thousands of posts long. Also, we are likely to be someting like 8th in the pecking order now behind the top four, barcelona, spurs and city. They can offer european football which is the devcisive thing. However, money can sometimes be a huge attraction but it appears we have an owner hell-bent on not buying over 21's with wages anything over thirty grand-a-week.
  5. to be honest i think we are slow off the block, although i'm not concerned yet. the modric deal was slack of us to let spurs in, we let spurs get in ahead for woodgate, we spy on nasri and gomis and wait until they play well on the bigger stages and make them unattainable. there is a very good chance we will wait on arda turan to play well for turkey and the price will go up and we go out of the race. hope not but nufc have a bad habit of finding talent and then farting aboot until they're gone. get them signed now while the prices are lower and we can build a strong squad.
  6. Arda Turan holds more promise for me, personally.
  7. great player but had his day, a third time here would be silly.
  8. I am led to believe Aston Villa has the biggest
  9. In all fairness to Henry, he's been played on the left wing WHEN he actually does play. In terms of trying to get him here, I can't see Barca rejecting a 'get your money back' transfer fee but as someone mentioned, not sure if Henry would fancy it here.
  10. 52,000 to look at, 36,000 to be heard.
  11. Midfield for next season: Bentley Carrick Van der Vaart N'Zogbia Shit hot that like.
  12. Might just clinch a champions league spot this season, never mind next!
  13. Whereabouts in Whickham was this like? I live there and heard nowt about Pedro being around like?
  14. Rob Lee was a fantastic signing no doubt, but to get a striker even in today's market at fifteen million quid and go on to score 206 goals is astonoshing. take those goals out of newcastle's last decade and we'd be a lot worse off.
  15. one good thing to relegation it would clear the shit who sit round me at the match who seem to turn up just to boo and moan rather than support. apart from that, it would be catastrophic.
  16. Aye the derby is going to be absolutely huge in terms of who's staying up. Christ I hate them when we are 3rd and theyre bottom but a relegation 6 pointer in April is going to be awful. I personally would take 17th right now no problem and I think that's where we'll finish...just. Fulham, Reading and Sunderland at home are must-wins as we will not get a point away from home after Birmingham. That's why Monday night is gonna be crucial.
  17. David James is easily England's best keeper and Hart doesn't deserve a start yet.
  18. Emre v Everton was canny like. And Milner against the mackems is obvious, although we were shocking that game!
  19. You don't have to get rid of nearly ha;f the squad to make it a successful team. Look at Man City, they still have Dunne, Ball, Vassell, Hamann in their team, however with the additions of Elano, Petrov, Richards at CB has upped their game. Remember under Bobby when we had Speed, Lee, Dabizas etc, but bring in Bellamy, Robert, Woodgat etc. and it made us title challengers. Right now, we needa couple of big bastards across the back 4 and some creativity in midfield. Players like Faye, Beye, Duff, Emre Owen are very good players but playing with shit like Smith, Carr and Butt we'll go nowhere. An injection of 4/5 youthful, pacey and powerful players will see us much better next term without having a turnover 0f 20 or so players.
