He has a lot about him but I'm not sure he's quite at the level to dominate a PL game in the manner he was trying to. And if Forest are hoping he will they might be disappointed. I wasn't that bothered selling him because he basically didn't feature for us, but it would've been nice to have him as another option. That said, we have Miley and we should have Ramsey. Overall he had a good game and I'm sure he'll get better because he has lots of strengths, but I would put him at good rather than superb at the moment.

They don't announce MOTD at the match, do they? I've never heard it.

Not sure why we're grouping Longstaff and Miley, but I get the point.

I've never really understood what his position is because he's way too untidy to be a CM and not dangerous enough to be a forward. Maybe legs off the bench would be his role at the PL level, if he could stay sharp and ready to contribute when he came on. FWIW I thought he wasn't as bad this season as last.

What I would say is that generally I considered intelligence and decision-making to be one of Elanga's strengths before he signed for us, often picking exactly the right moment to use his pace and the right time to release the ball to someone else. So I do believe he's maybe trying a bit too hard at the moment and he has what it takes to put it all together for us.

I think sometimes he does everything so easily that people don't realise how class he is. Makes it look effortless. I understand people's exaggerated fear of people who have been injured etc, but I don't see any reason not to slap a big new contract in his mush.

This is true, but I fully understand why Howe decided to go for an unchanged front 3 against Forest. Chance to get them some minutes together and hopefully gel.

I think he was trying to help it back across goal TBH. Still a great man like.

Would love to revisit Bruno for a flag this season, the number 39 maybe. Things have moved on since he arrived but he’s still the soul of the team and re-reading that article about his backstory on Players Tribune today brought a tear to my eye.

Live, the pen looked really risky to me, but on the replay you can see how perfect it is. Well over the line before it rises into the top of the goal.

It's incredible how easily he's taken this move in his stride. Such a cool character.

His penalty looks much better on the replay, it wasn’t that close to the bar.

Very poor for most of the first half but the team kept battling and kept working and eventually they overwhelmed Forest almost by force of will. Something to be said for that.

Played quite well but I was happy he got mugged off for the penalty. Can’t have ex-players coming back and having a lovely day out, even if Geordie.

Don’t think I’ve ever seen a referee give every 50/50 to the same team. Some going.
