I just don’t see any reason that Man City would hijack the deal in July but not in June.
-
That’s what Howe wanted, I just don’t think it was realistic. Every manager wants their players in as soon as possible, very rarely happens. Humans tend to work to the amount of time a deadline allows them. Especially when we can’t just outspend everyone to get whoever we want.

I never expected speed, that’s why I’m not disappointed yet. Apart from Isak obviously. But I did say that Isak leaving renders everything else irrelevant because we would finish on less points no matter who else we sign.
-
Pay him more than Isak for a laugh.

Line is actually “is ever going to happen” IIRC. Shocking gif.

All our bids happen, they just don't succeed.

Feels like 80-100m is too much, maybe that's why he hasn't been snapped up yet?
-
It's a great team apart from upfront TBH.
-
Of course but they would need a very good reason to say no and there's really not much we can do about that.
-
I think pretty much everyone we've targeted has left their club actually, just not to us. And we have made bids for them as well. Apart from that you're right

Sometimes I don't understand your posts at all.

What bollocks. They will appoint people to run the club well as they have tried to do before. And they will run the club well. Jeez.

I’m not saying you’re wrong but I just see this as by definition a part of transfer dealings. We have money we can afford for each player. The answer I guess is to target players that other top teams don’t want like Bruno and Botman. But they also have to be good enough to move us up places in the league, it’s not an easy one. FWIW the most important thing for me is to sort out the executive roles we need to fill and establish a proper coherent way of working. I don’t mind which market we end up shopping in as long as we’re trying to improve.

Could talk about this all day, who knows. Seems odd that Man City wouldn’t be interested in him in June but in July they are.
-
He probably won’t even have to move house.
-
Ah got you. Still though, Man City would have to have been given first refusal before the deal happened. They might have rejected him obviously, but would’ve been a weird thing to do at an even cheaper price than they’re paying now. I’m not saying we’ve been very good on this deal but the clause is the biggest factor IMO. That’s why they asked for the clause in the first place.
-
Yeah I agree, however I think the people who did those deals are still here, aren’t they? Or are we thinking Amanda?
-
Technically Isak only really participates in 60ish minutes of every game. They’re good minutes obviously.
-
I don’t really have a clue, sounded like Pedro and Ekitike were extremely close until they had better options. And Trafford was done until the Man City clause kicked in. The point is that the clubs in question can pay more than us and have more pulling power for these players.

Ah well, Ornstein just said our bid was too low. If not then fair enough. Even if we had agreed a deal though, the point is that Burnley would be required to call Man City and give them a chance to buy him first.
