Yeah, definitely wouldn't be generating so much debate if he wasn't such a freak. But I have to trust that we wouldn't sign him unless we'd spoken to him and judged he had the right attitude. I think a lot of his antics for Everton might have been because he cares about the club and they're going down the pan. I dunno of course, but possibly.

But isn't Gordon someone to just add to the options? It doesn't mean the club think he's the immediate answer to all our problems. We'll be in 4 competitions next season. I'm not ecstatic about signing him but I think it's a decent move.

I honestly think finishing is a much bigger problem than creation. I heard on a podcast that our xG has been around 8 in the last few games and we've only scored 3. Also anyone we pick is going to have to be very fit, athletic and mobile for the pressing game.

In my lifetime we’ve never had a keeper who could be considered in the top 4 or 5 in the league or higher. And you’d be confident he could start for almost any club as well as England. Think Pope has to be the best.

I don’t think there’s much chance chelsea put it together this season. This time next year they’ll have a great team, assuming Potter is capable of managing all these guys.

He was not hopeless

I found it a weird performance. We were ‘on top’ and had loads of possession in the stats, but we were also a bit sloppy and gave the ball away a lot. Very different mindset to be a team that is on top, and the question is how many we can score. Takes a bit of getting used to. Maybe we were trying to force it at times and we were struggled with the expectations to win. Dunno.
