Marseille will be rubbing their hands tonight. Never mind.
-
We'll get thumped 4 or 5
-
Barton will get sent off 3 or 4 times this season if he continues to play like this.
-
Got to be Taylor for me, Colo tends to get pulled out of position too easy & Campbell can't spend his time playing his own game & looking to cover his partner. I also think that Campbell could make Taylor a much better player; don't think he could do that for Colo.

We are going to have to someone just in front of Colo/ Sol or we will get murdered through the middle. If there is more than a 10 yard gap between that pair and a midfield anchor we will be in trouble. Sol did well last year but Arsenal keep the ball far better than we do and that is a huge concern. Hopefully he will do ok but we can't expect him to play every game and he will get injured.

It is special; ask Shearer and Sir Les who was gutted but noble enough to give it up. A short tale which may bore you but has memories for me. Back in the 80's I played for a team "managed" by a bloke called McDonald who was commercial manager at Nufc, our strips were the previous years 1st team strips. I wore Micky Quinn's number 9 kits (Greenhalls) and scored a hat trick in the first game up at Benwell which was our home pitch. I can tell you it felt fantastic.

Kieron Dyer signs one-year contract extension with QPR
Tsunami replied to LoveItIfWeBeatU's topic in Football
You really need to take Dyer for what he was. His ability to break at pace from midfield beyond the opposition defence made him at times unplayable. In a team set up for that type of play he was the best there was. He had something that couldn't be defended against and you couldn't set up a team to nullify him, he could see space and some of the runs he made were simply fantastic. He couldn't finish, couldn't cross, at times couldn't see a 5 yard goal scoring pass and was a knob but in SBR's team a fit Dyer could make all the difference for us. -
Why did the Dutch do that?

Jonas hardly got a kick against him up here, he had a mare at Blackpool in the Play Off's. He looks to have more pace than Simpson and that puts him in front of Simpson for me. Forest fans seem to be suggesting that he may not always give his all & can be careless (certainly against Blackpool he was) if he does that it the PL he will struggle big time.

Not read the rest of this thread; we were shit & if we had equalised I fancied us to win. I honestly believe that. That said, we looked tired, unhappy, ponderous, without team spirit, a lack of leadership & generally apathetic to everything that was happening around us. That can only be the fault of the manager & when you look at his team selection, tactics & obvious unwillingness to change things around then I can fully understand the performance we put in. Unacceptable maybe but I can understand it.

Capello should be a good enough manager to know how to stop Messi. Even Rehagel with his bloody bad team could stop Messi. Inter kept him quiet for 2 x 90 mins as well. Messi shouldn't be the problem. And if he isn't the problem anymore, there won't be any problem left. Barry would have to do a job on him as if he gets anywhere near the hole in front of Terry/ Carragher/ Upson he will take them to pieces. Could I see Barry doing an effective job on Messi? No.

I'd rather lose to the Germans than that cheating little Argie twat. Can you imagine the posturing if the Argies beat us. I can see us beating the Germans and losing to Messi - I can't stand the thought of Maradona celebrating. Shit; I'd rather lose to Scotland than that drugged up, cheating, lying, self righteous dwarf. Come on the Germans.

Deco & Tyronne from Corrie - can't be arsed to get photo's but when Deco smiled today he could have been his twin.

Llambiarse has suggested this to Mike. On sale soon at Sports Direct £25. http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm253/nufcstu/NufcStrip.jpg

Well done Maradona no club will be interested in Jonas.

Not sure if this has been mentioned but 888sport are offering money back up to £20 if your first bet losses (T&C's) and if you join up via The Gambling Times you get £5. The bet has to be placed and settled between now and the somewhere around WC Final day. I've just covered a £20 accumulator with another firm with the same bet with 888sport so if it wins I get double and if it loses I get my £20 back (you can put the money back in your bank acount as opposed to a credit with 888sport)

The things I remember most are the facts that the stadium was in disrepair, official security was awful, that the Liverpool fans had no thoughts whatsoever of safety, that many through years of success thought they had the right to do as they please and that many Juve fans were also up for a fight. I can still see a Juve fan on the track behind the goal brandishing a pistol. HTF do you get a gun into the European Cup Final? Everything was in place for the disaster it became.

Howard Gayle had a song about him and his colour but it wasn't racist. It went "He's Black, he's Broon, he's playing for the Toon Howard Gayle, Howard Gayle." I was at Grimsby on a Boxing Day when he scored and that song was being belted out. Mind you when he got sent off at SJP for the Mackems he did get abused...............

There's a lot to be said for the Play Off's. A big part of me would love to be there today.
-
Very difficult this given the way the game has changed and trying to get a balanced side so with apologies to many: Banks G Neville Moore Adams Pearce Beckham Gascoigne Robson Waddle Charlton Rooney

Twas going wide!

Why didn't Ashley simply say that we'll not be taken mugs anymore, that sensible investment will be made on the playing side and that the club's long term security was paramount? What the club has produced reads like a wind up, a fuck you all with a suggestion that he is looking to get his money back without any real concern where the club is when he eventually leaves. If he trousers the sky money and we get relegated he will still get 100M or so. If he trousers the sky money and we stay up, bingo he looks like a genius, he can command a greater price and perhaps we'll buy some players - everyones happy. Either way, first and foremost, he is looking to get his money back.
