  1. C'mon 'hawkeye'. Make your 1st call this season. Please tell us this one's over the line.
  2. This is from the same clubs fans who sang about him pi**ing himself while he was alive and then came and laid shirts/scarves at SJP when he died. And we're the hypocrites eh? Although to be fair to some on there they did say a lot of the quotes were out of order.
  3. I think i read on nufc.com that you can buy tickets at the away end window from 6pm tomorrow. Adopted St Mirren as "my Scottish team" years ago, so i'm really looking forward to this. For those travelling up there's not really any pubs by the ground, but Paisley town centre is only 10/15 mins walk away. New Street, just off the high St has a little cluster of pubs. 'Paddy Malarkeys', (not an irish bar despite the name), and the 'bull inn' to name a couple. Biggish wetherspoons, 'The Last Post' outside Gilmour St station too.
  4. Think I heard on ssn that the winners play Swansea next too. Would have been an interesting tie for hibs had they made it.
  5. Aye, "Back Page". On that subject, they advertised a bus to the St Mirren game, then as soon as the Rangers game was confirmed, they no longer mentioned the St Mirren trip. I'm wondering if they scrapped that and decided to go to Rangers instead. Didn't want to start a new thread in matchday travel section.
  6. I would love it if Keegan had some role at the club, in the unlikely event of these clowns at the helm leaving NUFC and a new regime taking charge. A regime with a desire to make the club a success.
  7. I think the only thing that needs a rest is his mouth. What a clown. He's trying to big himself up and sounding pathetic. Let's see how he talks his way out of failing to deliver any signings of note. Come to think of it, he'll no doubt try and blame Pardew/Carr, anyone but himself.

    Season Tickets

I'm guessing you can cancel your direct debit for the remaining payment between now and Jan/Feb, but would forfeit any money you've paid up until now.
  9. Great vid that, but it saddens me that we once had a hero and now we've got absolute zeros at the club.
  10. Aye, St Mirren were due to play Celtic that weekend. They'll now have to find another date just so Celtic can play a "big" friendly. Just typical of one of the old firm.
  11. It's gonna end really well if he turns up. If he really thinks he's got nothing to hide and he can justify this ridiculous appointment, then he should go and face the public. Odds on that he won't though.
  12. This thing about Shearer being no good in management. Well maybe he wasn't/still isn't, the same goes for Pardew, but i'm pretty sure they had/have the best interests of nufc in their jobs even if it's not enough. We've people running this club who couldn't care less about the good name of Newcastle Utd. It's all about their self interest. JFK is a PR disaster whenever he opens his mouth, and he's supposed to be in charge of transfers? Can he really expect to talk any half decent player into coming here with so little tact? He's a national clown.
  13. You could excuse the odd mispronunciation from sir Bobby because he was just that, someone who had done enough to command enough respect to be called sir. Kinnears just an odious, embarrassing and antagonistic creature who can't seriously expect to gain any respect, having done nothing in the modern game. Just go joe ffs.
  14. It seems Ashley wanted to give his mate Kinnear a job. It's nothing to do with his ability or lack of ability, and would have been bad enough had it been some background role, but for the manager, regardless of what people think of Pardew, to have to report to him is disgraceful. Kinnear embarrasses the club every time he speaks with inflammatory remarks and in the unlikely event of us doing well next season i'll still disagree with his appointment. He must mean it when he says things like "it's water off a ducks a**e" because it can't be nice being loathed by so many and ridiculed and condemned by the footballing nation.
  15. For the 1st time ever i've even thought about not attending home games. While my principles tell me to cancel my s/t and not give Ashley more money, i've already paid hundreds towards next seasons games. If I was contemplating a new season ticket then I might decide against it, but i'm reluctant to throw what i've paid away.
  16. Back on topic, I really don't know how we can effectively respond. I'm hoping for a 66 year old man, in bad health like kinnear, the hassle and hatred will simply be too much eventually.
  17. Maybe he really has lost his marbles and he's imagining the whole thing. Wishful thinking on my part there of course. Can only think the club haven't commented because they simply cannot come up with any justifiable explanation for the appointment.
  18. http://www.saintmirren.net/pages/?p=24193 I like the yellow 3rd kit, but as much as i like St Mirren they let themselves down a bit with a red away kit. Black and white home strip though. That's canny.
  19. Of course it does. Does it really though? I remember us getting hammered 6-1 at Leyton Orient then romping the championship. I think we lost away at Norwich 2-1, when Norwich had just been promoted from league 1. Then we did ok in the league that following season. Cardiff battered us last summer, then we were beating Spurs weeks later, though admitedly the season went way down hill from there.
  20. Exactly. If anyone thinks this club is on its a**e after the bad season we've just had, it's nowhere near the sorry state it was in before keegan came to the club. I'll start with the 1st time round as a player. Here was a world famous, iconic, twice european player of the year who came to play for 2nd division also rans, Newcastle United. His arrival doubled the gates and soon we'd be back in the top flight. It was an honour for such a star to be associated with my club. Then his 1st spell as boss. The club was skint, SJP was in a terrible state, attendances were poor again and we were on the brink of the old 3rd division. Enter KK to save us from the drop and possible extinction. Promotion followed, and the next season we finished top 3 and back in europe for the 1st time in decades. SJP was full, week in, week out. There was a buzz in the city. We became regular top 6 finishers, and the relative success gave the board the confidence that SJP could be, and should be redeveloped to give us the magnificent stadium in which we watch todays passionless dross. Despite it not working out in his 2nd managerial spell and his ultimate departure, that simply can't undo all he has achieved at NUFC. IMO one of the best people to have ever been with this club.
  21. Aye, me too. Typical. I always cancel the sky sports during the close season.

    sunderland

If PDC wants a disciplined, clean living squad, he's going to have to start afresh and replace half of the existing lot. The current squad are stabbing him in the back and it'll be hard for him to know which players he can trust. He's given himself a massive repair job. He's right. Footballers are like spoiled brats these days. Don't think he's dealing with it very well though.

Very interesting the Di Canio interview. He's right in most of what he says but that won't stop him being despised in the dressing room. It'll be a struggle for him to get the best from dissenting players. He's mad though. He could be the next North Korean leader. He really is crazy.

    Conor Newton

I was at st mirrens game at Kilmarnock yesterday. Dummy and Newton have done well up there. Newton scored 1 and made another with a pin point cross. Seems like the st Mirren fans are sorry to lose them, either back to the toon or loaned elsewhere. They were singing 'toon army' and an adaptation of the coloccini song for Newton, 'I want ginger hair too'.
  25. True, merely staying up isn't success, but IMO being in the top flight gives you a better chance of success. Good players, and yes i know we don't always sign them, are attracted to sign for premier league clubs. TV money helps you afford those players. Finishing in a europa league place gives you the chance to win another cup. As bad as we've been this season we weren't that far away in the europa. Granted winning the FA cup would get us into the europa league, but after seeing how we've struggled with the extra games this season, imagine europa games added onto the fixture laden championship season.
