  1. Aye, what a brilliant man he is for going high and mighty and washing his hands of all of us. Better man than Ashley, who is doing nothing other than digging us into a big hole.
  2. I think it's because we're a club obsessed with looking back. Maybe, but the people running this club don't seem very concerned about our future. Fair enough, they may be looking to bring in young talent. Let's hope they're good enough to drag us back from a lower division. We need established premiership players NOW. Unfortunately Ashley and Co have turned us into a club that no one decent wants to play for/manage. I've said it before, and i'll say it again. They f**ked up in September by not backing a good man, who wanted to succeed here as much as anyone you could find in the world.
  3. Terrible times and i know it's hard, but it's still our club at the end of the day. The Toon are for life, not just for Christmas. Only thing will stop me going is the ever increasing costs. At some point it simply no longer becomes value for money. I mean look, you've got tin pot clubs like WBA charging £40 to get into a league game. Crazy, and can't be justified.
  4. Surely protests were a reaction to the problems at SJP and not the cause of them. Further protests won't do any good unfortunately, but fans can't be expected to say nothing as the club falls apart. Anger and frustration will be shown in some shape or form. As someone pointed out, act poorly in this transfer window, then, heaven forbid, lose to the Mackems, and i don't think everyone will go home quietly.
  5. True, Keegans gone and i can get over it. Unfortunately the reasons he left i.e Ashley/wise etc are still running the club. That's a bit harder to get over.
  6. Had he stayed, and the players that were brought in without his approval, not performed, KK would have been held responsible and possibly sacked anyway. He said before he left the squad wasn't good/big enough and now he's being proved right. I agree. Had he still been here, we wouldn't be involved in a relgation scrap. That's why i'm so angry at the un-necessary departure. The club shot itself in the foot by asking him to work under unreasonable conditions.
  7. No it isn't. Not everyone thinks he is without fault, get over it. Of course it is. You can't take away the good KK has done at this club in the past, whatever you think of his leaving this time round. I don't know exactly why he left, but i do know who i think has more love for this club, and it's not Ashley/Wise/Lambias, it's KK. The board have f**ked up by p*ssing him off IMO.
  8. Open your eyes man! If only Ashley had backed KK, we wouldn't be in this mess. I'm all for giving Ashley a 2nd chance, but so far he's done nothing to show me he's going to "drive the club forward" like he promised. I hope he proves me wrong. If not, he deserves all the stick he gets. Granted, protests don't do any good, but people get understandably frustrated. Those frustrations are going to come out at some point. He can't sell the club, so we're stuck with him, but he can't expect us to have any respect for him until he stops the club we love from self destructing.
  9. I'm gonna go aswell. Nowt else happening on Sunday afternoon.
  10. The bloke does his best, but he's clearly not up to it. He's just happy to be someones employee. Even if we stay up this season, i fear nothing but struggle ahead if he stays.
  11. Sad as it sounds, i'm just hoping there's 3 worse teams than us this season. Having said that, while we're not exactly flying, some other teams are dropping like a stone. Hull and Portsmouth for example. The smoggies have took about 4 points from their last 27. Hope we're safe well before the end of the season. My ticker couldn't take the stress of battling it out 'til the death. Or maybe not battling in the Toons case.
  12. Liverpool may have hammered us on Sunday, but we beat them in "Goal". Revenge is sweet.
  13. You simply cannot justify a steward "clobbering" or "getting physical" with a fan, other than in self defence, surely?
  14. And caused the rotten atmosphere which contributed to the defeat by Hull. They've got a lot to answer for if we go down by a point or two. If we go down, i'll blame what happened between the board/manager that week, and not that someone took a nasty banner to the Hull game. Personally i don't agree with the banner, but nothing's said when hundreds take part in a loud chorus of "We hate Cockneys, and we hate Cockneys" in games against London clubs. I bet some of the people condeming the banner have sang it themselves.
  15. Aye, real hard man eh? Just a Geordie hating thug, who'll never play for a club any bigger than Boro or Wigan.
  16. I would like to think Ashley would appreciate a 2nd chance, and learn from his mistakes. Only time will tell, but i think he's under a bit of pressure to do the right things. He can start by backing his manager financially, or choosing a new one.
  17. Nice to have some joy late in the game, instead of the usual despair the Toon thrust upon us. Happy days! UP THE DUFF!
  18. Can the mackems do anything original? They've already changed the words to "Geordie boot boys", "Fulwell end is always full" and...shamefully, Blaydon races. God i hate them.
  19. I thought he stood out from the others last night. He's quick, he can pick the ball up and pull away from defenders easily. He looks much stronger than when i saw him last. I think he could do a job for the 1st team.
  20. As far as not winning anything for "many years to come", I'm sure we can wait a bit longer after all the barron years gone by.
  21. Would be a tragic waste of a good striker if he got so sick of being subbed that he wanted to be away.
  22. A lot of people lost it when they equalised and a few people with kids objected to the language. If anybody thinks they can take kids to a football match and avoid hearing it then I think they are certifiable. If they're such good parents, maybe they shouldn't have dragged them out to sit in the freezing cold. Out of curiosity, how old were you when your parent/parents took you to your 1st game? True, kids are bound to hear bad language because of emotions running high etc. It just goes a bit OTT sometimes. If kids don't go now, who will be the fans of the future?
  23. perhaps we should get rid the currrent owner first.... While Kinnear isn't the man for the job, people shouldn't forget that he's only here 'cause no-one else wanted it. No decent manager will work under Ashley/Wise and chums. For me, they are the ones to blame. Unless Shearer will come in, i think we have to perservere with JK, hopefully survive,( probably by the skin of our teeth), sell the club and start afresh in the Summer. We really are a shambles.
  24. I'd much rather KK was still around, but 10 of those points have come out of the last 21 possible. That doesn't seem as bad. Should've been more though.
  25. Re-read the very first sentence again mate. Why worry about Ashley taking a hit? If he runs the club into the ground, it's his loss. Someone will buy it eventually and run it properly. He's suing the corporate entity that is NUFC, not the individual Mike Ashley. Whatever settlement is reached will come from club funds, or do you really think Ashley will reach for his personal checkbook to pick up the tab? Wasn't favorable towards Keegan before and I certainly have no love for him now. I'd like to see people still argue that he "loves the club" when he seems willing to take a few million quid from our coffers when we're desperate for cash in January. I still believe he loves the club, the City and it's fans. I think he wishes this situation had never arisen. However, rumour has it he had money trouble, and if he's desperate for the money, and he's been mistreated by an employer, he's as much right as you or i to claim unfair dismissal.
