  1. Good for Roeder. He wasn't cut out to be our manager, but I think he gave it his all, and I'm happy for him at Norwich. Who knows, maybe he'll get them promoted.
  2. I think it's fair to say that a couple of Allardyce's signings shouldn't be around next year. He's certainly one of them.
  3. Wow, I'm one of the fans who would benefit from this, and even I think it's a stupid idea. We already get friendlies over here in North America, and most fans don't know the difference at any rate.
  4. Um, yeah, I think we have a legitimate reason to be mad at the refs lately. I'm fairly sure that every game since the Chelsea game has seen either a goal we should have had disallowed or a goal from the other team that should have been nixed be counted. It's bad enough that we're not playing well, but these decisions aren't going our way, which makes it worse.
  5. Nicey. Nothing like my hometown club being coached by someone from my favorite club.
  6. It seems that Roz was unhappy here and probably asked to leave. Also, it's probable that Keegan didn't rate him very highly. It is strange that we would get rid of a player without a replacement, but he's a player we can do without, so long as Faye stays fit that is. Maybe this will mean an opportunity for Edgar to get some time on the pitch.
  7. These are the two that we needed back the most, imo. Unhappy for them, but glad for the club. Hopefully they both come back fit and ready for Villa.
  8. Good stuff, if true. I hope he works out. I'm happy about all these young signings, even if I know squat about them....I'm happy in principle....which is as good as it gets around here lately!
  9. You're absolutely right, in my books. We're not going to get relegated (despite what some might think) but we're also out of range of European qualification no matter who we might bring in now, especially with the Spurs taking a spot for appearing in the Carling Cup final. What's important is that Ashley and Mort have their man in charge and have put together a team that Ashley is comfortable backing with money. As was pointed out, we've also signed three promising players. This is all good news. It's unfortunate that we have little to play for in the rest of the season, but the sky is far from falling, and as others have pointed out, it's better to sign nobody than sign crap.
  10. This. I'm actually confident that we're going to win this one. 2-1: Duff and Smith (off the bench).
  11. At this time last year we signed Onyewu on loan. I'm not convinced this is a better signing. I hope I'm wrong.
  12. Don't worry Big Sam's fitness regime will work wonders on him.....oh wait.
  13. I would go with this as well. Keegan out, Skirge in!

    Beckham

If this is true, it seems Ashley is most interested in selling merchandise. Take for instance, the volume of 'King Kev' items that came up for sale on the official site immediately after he was signed. I wouldn't mind having Beckham here, except that I would be annoyed when everyone and there dog started wearing Newcastle shirts with Beckham on the back.
  15. If we sign Richards I'll eat my hat. I don't see it happening.
  16. Bolton played very negative football for 90 minutes against a side with Roz in midfield, Carr at RB, Ameobi up front, and our academy boys on the bench. Keegan can't work miracles. I wanted a win, but I'm not overly disappointed.
  17. He might be available but I wonder if he'll be fit for this match.
  18. I would love to see Shearer back at SJP. He seems to love Newcastle United a great deal, and I think he'll bring a lot of passion to the job. Also, maybe he could lure Berbatov....
  19. This is the first match all year I haven't been able to watch. No coverage in Canada. And we end up scoring 3 goals already. Still, happy with the results so far.
  20. Agreed. We need to support Keegan and this club.
