Hmmm, people say that we never give our managers time but to be fair we've rarely hounded out a manager that wasn't being detrimental to the team... Roeder, Souness & Allardyce as examples. Well yeah.. but we would have stood a better chance of winning if we had left our creative output (Jonas) on, and taken off the player that hadn't done much and looked knackered - Duff.. When we had 3 strikers on the entire team lost shape and pace. Martins was the only player left on with any real speed on him and he'd be ineffective all match anyway. His subs are regularly either clueless or far too late, some examples: Man City - Andy Carroll came on instead of Xisco and Carrolls lazy as fuck jogging about and lack of bal retention led to City counter attacking. Sunderland - Brought on Gutierrez & Barton on in the 80th minute pretty much, far too late in the game. We needed these players earlier. Fulham - See above, removed the pace and ruined the shape of the team.

I think drugs like coke would be the most commonly used in the premier league due to the lifestyle of some of the players. I don't think it's a massive problem, but I think that drug testing should be a lot more stringent. I had to take regular drug tests in one of my old jobs and I think that the current method of dope testing in the PL is way below par.

On a slightly brighter note I've read in several places that Butt is going to retire at the end of next season.. IF we get a new owner in and IF we get half decent manager that is in control of transfers I'd probably not have any major problems with Butt being here one more season and watching from the bench. But of course, this is Newcastle and in all probability we'll see Duff and Butt high fiving eachother and having money fights in the centre circle for years to come.

If we get a favourable draw for the FA cup 3rd round I imagine that's when we'll first see him play for the first team. I very much doubt we'll be seeing him in the premier league at all this year, or even this season.. and if he does it'll most probably be through necessity rather than choice. Really excited about Ranger though, he's a demon for the second string!

Like I said, sweeping generalisations etc. etc., but to be honest the fact that I've never met a nice Italian person doesn't really help either. I was at the San Siro when we drew 2-2 in 2002? 2003? and it was fucking horrific. The Spanish have a history of racism, this is a fact, but I've never personally witnessed any from the fair amount of Spanish games I've been to. You can only really comment on what you know and learn from your own experiences and I've not really had any good ones from Italian football. And like I said, it really bores me. Maybe I've been spoilt with ACTUAL football that has excitment and tempo, rather than slow and poncey buildups of defensive passing that'll eventually lead to a greasy Italian wonder-goal..
