  1. Yeah and then Shola to miss them His shot to goal ratio is near enough the same as Carrolls this season If this is true, i stand corrected
  2. Yeah and then Shola to miss them
  3. Considering it's 'Arry that wants him, i fully expect the FA to issue us with a 30pts deduction if we don't sell Carroll to them by 11pm th'morn. Sorry forgot it's Spurs. By anytime next week.
  4. I can understand both arguments here. The thing is though, the whole Given saga is a bit like you're with a lass for a good few years, everything's great. she's faithful and you both get on great. Then when you're company's has been taken over by a total twat and there's a good chance that you'll lose your job and then probably you're house, she turns around and tells you she's moving in with the flash git down the road who's just won the lottery. Maybe not the greatest analogy, but you know what i mean .
  5. Anybody got a link for that song "Face Like A Fucking Melted Plastic Scrotum". I can't remember who it was by like.
  6. Aye, and he only delivers once a year as well.
  7. Dropping him would be a stupid knee jerk reaction. He's young for fucks sake. What young keeper hasn't made a mistake, hopefully he'll learn from it. What type of message would that be to our young players? It would mean nobody would try something for fear of cocking it up and then being dropped. Therefore our young players wouldn't develop. Of course they would then be sold on to a "lesser" team, play with a bit more freedom, look 10 times the player they were here and be sold for an inflated fee. At which point the ones calling for the likes of Krul to be dropped with no doubt rant on about how we sold them for a pittance and why can't we develop young players like other teams blah blah blah.
  8. Merry Christmas everyone!!
  9. I take it then all the shops in Birmingham City centre will be closed then due to the weather conditions? Whats that? No they won't? Fucks me right off this like. How's it all right for thousands of people to crowd streets while shopping but not allowed to walk to a fucking football stadium?
  10. From another board... "lee_ryder Lee Ryder #nufc I understand there is no truth whatsoever in the talk of an NUFC takeover by Qatari investors despite reports this morning". Make of that what you will.

    Alan Pardew

Five and a half year contract so that if (and unfortunately if a fucking big IF), the fat twat sells the club anytime in the near future, he mate gets a big payoff from the new owners when they replace him.
  12. I'm not a big believer in psychic ability, but i'm willing to give anything a go now. Here's my suggestion. When the ref blows for the start of the match, every supporter starts willing Ashley to spontaneously combust. A long shot i know, but a one i think is worth a go.
  13. Before people start with the "oh give him a chance" shite, remember if the reports are true, we will be with this smug get for FIVE AND A HALF YEARS!!!! There is not a hope in hell that Ashley will sack "one of the boys".

    Alan Pardew

Sounds like a southern Phil Brown.

    Alan Pardew

So, it looks like Alan Pardew. Hardly the expected choice to "take the club forward". But the question is, will he get a fair crack of the whip? My answer... FUCK NO!!!! I know there will be some people who think you have to support the club no matter what. But there is a difference between supporting the team and supporting the club. I will ALWAYS support the team, no matter what. But the club, NO. My reason for this is that the club is no longer Newcastle United. Ashley has ripped it apart at the seams. We are a Premier club being run like a part-time pub team. Who will want to come and play for us? Who will want to still play for us i suppose is a better question. Make no mistake about it, this is only the start. I fully expect departures in January. The team spirit that has covered up flaws in some games must surely have been affected. This disgraceful "jobs for his mates" attitude of Ashley has never, NEVER brought anything but trouble. The last time we where relegated, has this fuckwitt not learnt anything? And on to Pardew. If the rumours are correct, a "buddy" of Ashley and Labiarse from the casino. Who, if the reports are right has been in discussions with the two tits for about ten days. So at least we've got a manager we can be proud of eh? Like a gamble, and doesn't mind trying to get another managers job while he is still in it. All in all, a complete fucking shambles. Unfortunately i was stupid enough to buy a season ticket, and will still go and support the team. But if this joke of a owner is still in charge next season, this will be my last. I could go on, but i'm too sick and tired. Maybe that's what Ashley's relying on everybody feeling.
  16. Guthrie is not the answer on the right. The problem with him is he is not as good as he thinks he is. Too many times he gets caught in possession. His work rate is not up to scratch and he goes missing in games. I can't remember the last time he took the game by the scruff of the neck, and that includes last season.
  17. Lets be honest, this season was always going to erratic in terms of form. We do need to sort out the home form though True .
  18. We've got to try and look at the positive. Win on Saturday and we're guaranteed to be fifth. Some consolation for tonight like i know, but hay ho, just another typical night of being a Newcastle supporter. I know a lot of us are born into it, but i still think we're all a bit .
  19. It's funny that, nearly every new England manager says when he takes over that "i'll pick players based on form not reputation". Then goes out and does exactly the opposite.

    De Jong

De Jong and Man City are just ripping the piss out of everyone now, especially the FA. They know that the FA will do nothing to punish him so they are rubbing their faces in it. Whether De Jong is acting out the actual Ben Arfa incident or not, him and the rest of the Man City players and, more importantly staff, see the whole situation as funny. Yeah, breaking peoples legs is funny. Unbelievable.
  21. The whole argument of Fifa being money grabbing bastards for NOT introducing video technology is IMO entirely false. It seems the people at FIFA pushing the video technology, are the ones who see what a massive amount of money there is to be made on the commercial breaks, that would necessarily go along with refs consulting video footage (as in American football). As for the red card for ANY holding in the penalty area it seems extremely harsh and in no way realistic, even with video footage. I don't know how much football you've played, but with corners there will always be a lot of fighting when you do the tight marking that is necessary in modern football, and this isn't usually where players get hurt anyway. It is of course the refs responsibility to make sure it doesn't get excessive, but I think they do a fine job of that today. The whole goalpost system for automatically saying when the ball is in the net, is of course an entirely different discussion, but I don't think that is the one the OP tried to start. Yeah maybe i wasn't totally clear. What i meant was just a penalty for the holding in the area, not a red card.
  22. There's been a lot of talk recently about players tackling and referees performances. You get ex-professionals saying that the physical side of the game should be protected, and others saying certain players should be hanged by the neck until they are dead (okay a slight exaggeration ). Of course Fifa could solve a lot of problems by introducing video technology, but because they are arrogant money grabbing suits, this is at the moment a non starter. The FA could though help by informing all referees that ANY tackle deemed excessively hard or dangerous, should be shown a red card. This could also apply to ANY holding in the penalty area at corners or free kicks as a penalty kick. I know a lot of people will be up in arms at this suggestion, saying "we'll end up with 7 aside and 8 penalties per match". Ok, maybe. But after a few weeks of ridiculous scorelines and player suspensions, managers will soon start clamping down on players behaviour on the pitch. Would the De Jongs of this world have their managers blessing (or indeed support after the game) if they still went out and flew into tackles, knowing fine well they would be sent off? This might also force Fifa's hand on the video technology front (unlikely i know). But hey, you never know. Just to set the record straight, i don't want the good honest hard tackle outlawed. Just the dangerous career threatening one. The problem is, a lot of professionals in today's game don't know the difference. So what do you think, would a few weeks (maybe more) of madness be worth it.
  23. You would have thought, instead of wasting millions on the likes of Santa Cruz (18m) and Adebayor (25m ish) who can't get in the team. They would have splashed as much money as it would take to get a real world-class manager in. Instead they've got, in my opinion, an average manager, playing boring negative football.
