fucks sake man. anyone would think we had a queue of world class players lined up outside SJP begging to sign. we are a mid table side, who aren't in europe, who have a history of hiring and firing managers, we're based in a small city in the north east of england, we're trying to rebuild the club finances after years of mismanagement. and we've proven time and time again that throwing money at "big name signings" hasn't led to success. we have just pissed transfer fees and massive wages up the wall. it's all about building a decent sized squad, putting a solid team together and doing it without bankrupting the club. get a grip on reality and get used to the idea !

we're linked with anyone and everyone at the moment. If our recruitment team are doing their jobs effectively then the first we will hear of signings is when they have already put pen to paper. If we are linked players at the moment then my suspicion is that agents are trying to raise a players profile and we aren't going to sign them.

I've had season tickets in the gallowgate, milburn, leazes L7 and east stand. you may be up in the gods in L7 but being near the away fans makes the atmosphere loads better. I had a mint season up there and only moved to sit nearer to my mates. definitely not the worst seats in the ground east stand is dead. gallowgate is canny but when you get up near the back you can only see and hear 2/3rd of the ground which gives me the hump. milburn was full of corporates more arsed about talking about shopping and kids parties than getting behind the lads.

think I'll be trying to move from Gallowgate to singing section. I sit with a canny group of lads but it's near the back of the stand so we can't see or hear anything on level 7. I'd rather be getting vocal near the away end. and pay 100 quid less obviously....

Agree with Boca Juniors. In a very sketchy area of a fairly sketchy town, a stadium that is compact with proper steep stands. mental fans. although a lad I went to Boca with went to a Copa Libertadores (I think) game that Boca were playing in Bolivia and he reckoned it was far more radge than the Bombonera.

a bit off the original topic but the racism that still goes on at some of our games is bang out of order. yesterday on the tube, lads in toon tops shouting "blacky and monkey" at people at people as we pulled out of stations. "a town full of p*ki's" also got an airing from a group in the away end. at blackburn away the lads at the turnstile behind me were going on about how they would refused to be searched by an asian. at villa away last season a load of our lot were making monkey noises as we drive out of aston on the bus. I hold these idiots in utter contempt.
