Even with PSR, it feels like we’re playing a different sport. Manchester United could spend half a billion on mistakes and still walk away fine because their global reach just keeps refilling the coffers. You could mismanage them for a decade and they’d still have fans all over the world buying shirts. Meanwhile, we’re stuck counting every penny to stay within the rules, trying to crack the top 50 in global support. We can outplay them some seasons, but catching them? That would take years of trophies and a serious rethink of the financial rules governing football. Spurs we can catch; Manchester United though are on a different planet, and PSR just keeps them there.

Is there not some sort of official sofascore rating thing for refs?

Raya, Timber, Gabriel, Saliba, Rice and Saka would comfortably make our first xi. The rest are very debatable.

This isn’t a criticism of Miley, who I rate highly, but he’d have an excellent career if he develops into a player even approaching Tonali’s quality.

I actually thought he was pretty good; should’ve had two nice assists, really. Feels like some folks can’t wait to jump on his back no matter what he does.

Steve Bruce is the definition of a dinosaur manager; lazy, clueless, and somehow still convinced he’s hard done by. No structure, no plan, just excuses and that tired “we’ll dust ourselves down” nonsense. He hides behind the “good bloke” tag while serving up football so outdated it should come with a fucking VHS. The game had already passed him by in his “prime” as a manager ffs; the entitled fraud just refused to evolve. The only thing more predictable than his “tactics” is the inevitable meltdown when fans call him out for it. Worst manager at NUFC in my lifetime and I don’t see that changing. Despise the guy.
