Getting him on a loan now before his value potentially skyrockets after a season makes sense. None of our back-up keepers inspire confidence at all and Eddie has, quite rightly, identified that Oddy is essentially just a dude wearing goalkeeping gloves.
-
Almost at the bottom of the page. This is really dragging; honestly if this doesn’t get pulled over the line- rightly or wrongly- it’ll raise some concerns over the effectiveness of our recruitment team.
-
It’s looking like (and it’s been looking like this for a while) it’s Guehi and an unsuccessful loan bid/ project player and that’s our lot. Let’s just make sure the former is secured first and foremost otherwise you can’t argue with anyone saying it’s been a disaster of a window.

Standard holding the keeper back type stuff, easy yellow. Looks worse due to Neto selling it like a JBL clothesline.
-
Fuck everything.
-
God awful finishing. Come on lads.
-
We look better on the ball but wide open with these 2 full-backs.
-
How?
-
We need Trippier. Helps us keep the ball and gives us quality in the final third.
-
We only have a few genuinely technical players in our squad; 2 of them in Schar and Trippier aren’t playing. We’ve relied a lot on physicality and intensity for a few seasons, it’s concerning going forward if we can’t keep that style up.
-
We’re not all that, seemingly.

Ffs.

Not watching but that’s outrageous. Hope Stifler is actually complaining .
-
I’m dumb. Always thought it was by Edgar Allan Poe . Npw…
-
Was about to say the same thing. Not the best look but it’s a fairly common thing to complain to your friends about when you’re stopping over in a new place. If he had posted it publicly on purpose then that’s a different story.

No, I agree with you in all of that; I wasn’t talking about our business dealings at all. I’m largely very happy with our transfer model. My point was more about Ashworth’s experience and know how in setting up pathways (thanks for the word @Ronson333) for youth players.
-
Yes! I was writing my post but went completely blank. Thanks.
-
Tbf Ashworth is very good at establishing a (I forgot the word he used, which has since become common parlance on this forum) channel* for youth players to break into the first team. He was very successful doing this at Brighton, so I can’t imagine it’ll be much different at Man Utd. *this isn’t the word and it’s annoying me.

I’m lost though, “wrong’un” what’s he done?
-
Are you aware he’s a Villa fan?
-
Not a massive fan of Jenas but not gonna revel in him losing his job. If he’s actually been outed as a proper Yanga-Mbiwa though I might be able to get on board…
-
Yeah, I know. Good signing and at a good price too.
-
Out of the 2, Summerville’s the better player for sure but I’d happily take Gnonto at this point.
-
Guehi, a loan with option on Madueke and -if I’m being greedy- that Olympiacos midfielder and the window’s suddenly a roaring success.
-
Tbf to them Ashworth was pretty solid at selling our deadwood.
