Newcastle United vs Leeds United - 17/09/21 - Sky Sports 8pm
Consortium of one replied to Scoot's topic in Football
I'll be recording this as I'll be at work. Usually if we lose I won't be into watching the recording but I definitely will to see how Cabbageheed gets treated. It's been an abysmal week for the club and I get the distinct impression that Ashley doesn't give a fuck anymore. I mean, IMO, he did get upset at criticism and he did stuff to just to piss people off but I think he has built a 10 foot wall between him and the club and ignores any chatter about the club. -
I'd take Satan leading a takeover. An apocalyptic end is streets better that this turd spinning around the bowl.

Time for the gaffer to turn on his charm. Ask how the kids are, slap a few backs, give the lads a few days off to recharge...

I thought it was "Lambeezy"?

And I was drunk/high through most of the 80s and don't remember much

Brewcie is quietly waiting for the golden handshake from Fat Mike. All he's gonna get is a golden shower.

Back in the 70s there was a weekly highlight show of English football on channel 11 from New York. Also the New York Sunday Times had the top tier table and results. I remember that the club names had a lot of apostrophes to save space. Newcastle may have been N'wc'sl', Sunderland may have been S'ndl'd or some such. Because of my heritage I've always had an affinity for the Northeast When the EPL began gaining popularity in the US, Newcastle became my team and Fat Sam was my first manager so yeah, Mike Ashley has always been my owner. I'm bitterly loyal and could never turn away especially after watching players like Colo, Cabaye, Jonas, HBA, Shay, et al. Of course Keegan and Rafa as well. I've been a Mets and Jets fan all my life so sporting pain is in my DNA

This. 100% this.

Good thing you didn't spend a lot on signings this summer
-
I wonder if there is anyway to bring a "pain and suffering" suit against both the PL and the club.

Harsh but fair

I once thought that Jones could be a suitable replacement for Brewce but I no longer feel that way. Some guys are born assistants: great at implementing tactics, or running some portion of the training but don't have the ability to run the whole show and be the frontman. Jones received a lot of plaudits for his work with the England squad but that was under Southgate, which probably gave Jones a lot of confidence. I think now, under Brewce, Jones' training acumen has been marginalized and I also don't think he's as tactically astute as we thought. The players still play in roles that don't fit together. I'm sure Jones will get the temporary tag and I'd like to see him do well but he's only a short term solution. To be fair, I'd have second thoughts about any manager that would agree to work for Ashley. They'd have to be totally daft.

Bill Parcells was famous for bringing in a few of "his guys" even if they were almost done as players. They set the example and helped secure buy in from all the players.

You had a choice to be cultish or cuntish and you chose the wrong one
-
Probably wiped some of Ashley's smegma off his upper lip before he met the press.

reading todays article in the Athletic about Rafa made me very sad and jealous at the same time. Everton fans are beginning to sing his name. What a treat he is. I hope all those journos and pundits who even dared to mention Rafa and Bruce in the same sentence get it shoved right up their asses.

Is it Mr. Ambani, Albani or Alnani?
-
Gosh, I feel much better now that the club has cleared all that up

Silly Brit. I haven't made a bid in 3 months! -
The hierarchy probably doesn't even notice him any more. Kind of like a beanbag chair that was cool when you got it but is now sloughed off into some corner.
-
since he joined Everton I've been unable to look at this thread but my god, I wish he was back with us.

<BREAKING> MIKE ASHLEY HAS REACHED DEEP INTO HIS POCKETS AGAIN. SOURCES CLAIM JOELINTON IS HAVING A MEDICAL AHEAD OF HIS AMAZING SECOND SIGNING ON TYNESIDE. APPARENTLY THE BILLIONAIRE OWNER HAS RESPUNKED ANOTHER RECORD SETTING TRANSFER FEE ON THE ERSTWHILE STRIKER EVEN THOUGH HE IS ALREADY UNDER CONTRACT WITH THE CLUB. NEWCASTLE GAFFER STEVE BRUCE, WINDED AFTER A HECTIC DAY FURIOUSLY WORKING THE PHONES, PROCLAIMED, "IT"S LIKE A NEW SIGNING!"

I can just imagine Cabbage head huffing and puffing as he runs from his phone to the fax machine and back all day.

Do we need more bore holes already?

No one just reports news any more. It easier to editorialize because you can just throw your opinion out there rather actually doing some homework
