  1. What's this new fangled 4-2-3-1 he's talking about? Is it one of those "front foot" tactics he's famous for?
  2. Yeah, if you're goal is to make as much money as you can, for as little effort as possible, he's doing just fine. Things like pride only get in the way.
  3. I think Ritchie would retire before playing for that coward.
  4. I'm just happy going into a window where we are going to see well considered targets that will take the team forward. There won't be any silence until mid August and then a lot of false rumors followed by some cheap additions that don't fit. I can live with the endless drone of players we'll be connected to because I know most of it will be BS and the players we do bring in with be quality players and people.
  5. Can't even say Howe and ***** in the same sentence
  6. I wouldn't want Lascelles moved either especially if we play 3 at the back. The club isn't going to get turned over and I still think Lascelles will have a big role to play in a back 3. Assume we sign Schar: Schar, Lascelles, Burn, Krafth (?) new, young left footer (?) and what if they don't sign Schar? What if Howe is ok with Krafth as cover for Trippier at RWB? They will need some continuity going forward.
  7. How does he continue to be hired?
  8. I think, in addition to age and ability/potential, the recruitment team will be looking hard at personality and how they are going to fit into Howe's system. Personality is always tricksy but if they think someone won't fit, they won't make a play.
  9. You're right. He will be will be but he was an important part of finding and developing the players to fit Potter's approach
  10. Ashworth sounds like the guy to mine the lower leagues for inexpensive potential. Howe, Nixon and the board can identify the big name targets. Ashworth may be on gardening leave but you can bet he's done a lot of scouting.
  11. Is the plan to play with a single striker?
  12. He's a born loser. He has zero fight in him. He doesn't just accept mediocrity, he promotes it. I mean, my God, they were 5th! And they give him a pass. He should be pilloried and pelted with rotting cabbages.
  13. You'd think a fat blob like Bruce would bounce but WBA says nope.
  14. Yeah. I'd say he humbly smug as opposed to being smugly humble.
  15. Never been a huge fan of Zaha even less so now that he's on the downside.
  16. 7 points out of the next three games at home would be superb. I'm not so much concerned about relegation as I am about performance. Granted we looked very, very good on our run but decidedly less so, since. It would be nice to see us win one or two with some style.
