  1. I'm 7. It's not likely but it could still go up. Bruno is transformative Trippier is great Burn & Wood are solid Targett is a pleasant surprise Was hoping for a better striker and CB but it wasn't meant to be. They worked their asses off trying to make it happen.
  2. Dammit. We pipped when we should have gazumped. If we had a DoF this wouldn't have happened.
  3. Last year we added Willock and his 8 goals and finished 12th! Sketchy logic, I know, But if we can find 8 additional goals this year I think we'll be safe.
  4. I tend to agree. The club had it's back to the wall and made that decision. Panic buy? Probably, but they have the funds to make that kind of purchase. Either we bring in someone else (unlikely) or Wilson is less than 2 months out. It is what it is. I say we have enough to stay up as is but someone who could hit the back of the net would sure make me feel more comfortable.
  5. I say good for Ekitike. The move doesn't feel right for him so he shut it down. We can circle back in the summer if need be.
  6. It really chaps my ass to pay a survival bonus to ManU but he wood be a spiffing addition.
  7. With more pieces its harder to see what Eddie might do. Assuming no Lingard. If Lingard, sub him for Willock. Dubs Dubs Schar Lascelles Burn Trippier Lascelles Burn Targett Trippier Bruno Targett Bruno Willock Joe Willock Joe ASM Miggy ASM Wilson/Wood Wilson/Wood In the 433 Miggy might provide an effective outlet for Bruno. If we get Lingard maybe play him on the left instead of Miggy. The idea being Miggy/Lingard and Trippier can create an overload down the right.
  8. I like this signing. Give Eddie pieces and let him put them together. Maybe Targett can play deeper as cover for ASM and let Trips bomb forward on the side.
  9. I thought Trippier would be the statement signing. Bruno could be a club changing signing. I hope he pushes Shelvey to the bench as he makes knob head redundant IMO. Midfield 3 of Joe, Bruno and Willock with Shelvey and Longstaff in reserve would be solid.
  10. I'd horrified if Hughton ever took that job
  11. What's not to like about Nketiah? Pacy, can play in or wide, only 22 and out of contract. I think he'll only get better too.
  12. My EPL hit list is topped by Manu, Spurs and Everton. It's time to start settling scores.
  13. I wouldn't go back for him in the summer, at least at that price. I expected to see the club pay a premium in January but not in the summer.
  14. I had the impression that Bruno would make Shelvey redundant. And yeah, on reflection if it's a midfield 3 I'd rather Willock than Longstaff. I could see a 2 man midfield with someone slotted just behind the striker. Maybe that's where Zapata or Nunez would play in a 4-4-1-1. I wouldn't want to see a 4231 with two better CBs. That may have been the plan initially but it doesn't look like they can pull it off.
  15. Surely Bruno replaces Shelvey in a midfield 3? Guimaraes can pass, defend and cover ground. Shelvey seems content to do as little as possible to keep his job. He was a passenger under Bruce. Put his head down under Howe but when he started feeling comfortable again he started slacking off. I can't stand him. If it's a Midfield 3 it almost has to be Joe, Bruno and Longstaff.
  16. What's going on between Ecuador and Brazil?
  17. I liked Everton under Moyes. Now, I'd like to see them go down.
  18. I never thought I would say this but thank god he's ok.
  19. Meh, I'm done with rumors and rumor threads.
  20. 6"7", mobile and left footed? Sign me up.
  21. If the journos are to be believed (and that's big if) then Sevilla was really waffling. They don't want to sell the player but they liked the idea of the money they could get. Things were also complicated by "agreeing personal terms" and who the hell knows what that meant. It certainly would have been better if Sevilla gave us a hard no as we got with Botman but the owners had to be doing their due diligence. The Guimaraes deal didn't come together in a day so we have to conclude that the journos had no knowledge of it. Who knows, while they post endless streams of speculation maybe the club are really getting things done. Let's hope this is the case.
  22. Brilliant signing. By all accounts we have our midfield boss!
