  1. I thought Sissoko should have stayed as a CM for us. Big, strong, pacy and mobile he would have made a very good box to box guy and he would have developed better in the middle of the pitch. I thought he lost a lot when we moved him out to the wing.
  2. Yeah, they've turned on him completely... https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/donald-on-bbc-newcastle.1493883/page-2

  4. OMG. Alan Pardew...the prodigal son returns
  5. So, now that we are 10 games in, let's see how Brewcies record matches up to Rafa's going forward.
  6. Just needs to rub some dirt on it and get stuck in.
  7. He can't see beyond the nose of his face. He's too shortsighted and too impatient to build the club properly. Let's say he passes on Joelinton and spends 16M on Rondon and then puts 20M to advance the youth setup and training facilities. Let's say he opens the advertising to something other than SD and realizes say, 10M instead of 2M. Let's say he did this 10 years ago. Where would the club be? Much better place IMO. 350M? Who know, maybe 700M because we're fighting for top spots instead of settling for (maybe) not getting relegated.
  8. The sheeple who defend Ashley over Rafa are mind numbing.
  9. Well, he bought the club thinking they'd bounce right back up and he'd be able to sell them on for a tidy profit. The Don has been caught with his pants down.
  10. I caught a portion of an interview with Mourinho in the spring. It was around the time that our fakeover was starting to ramp up and questions about Rafa were mounting. I didn't think he was advertising for Rafa's job at that time but I did think he was intrigued with what Rafa tried to accomplish here. I would think at some point a top manager would weary of the merry go around of top teams and the pressure that comes with being the difference maker to take them over the top. It's possible that Rafa planted a seed where some top managers take to the idea of building a sleeping giant's infrastructure and competing for trophies. It would be more than stepping into a position and having to immediately get results. It would be your vision and a club that would always bear your mark on it.
  11. Mourinho turned down Lyon. Apparently he has a Premier league club on the line.
  12. Swimming pool? They must use tactics to hardy har har har

  14. He's 22 in a month. Look at players in other teams of similar age in similar positions (Tielemans, Ndiddi, McTominay, Mount, Winks, Ndombele, Guendouzi, Torreira, Cantwell - probably forgetting someone) and it's pretty clear he's not where he would want to nor should be. So far this season I think he's looked out of depth and I struggle to put all of that down to coaching. Still young so there's still time of course. And what kind of coaching has he gotten compared to those players? He came through our youth setup? Doesn't mean he can't come good but he's no where's near the exposure that other youngsters have.
  15. Longstaff needs a lot of coaching too. He's just a kid for chrissakes. Bruce throws him out there without a word I'll bet.
  16. Sheffield United, Brighton, Norwich and Villa have players that will make a right go at it, unlike our lot. They don't need "tactics". Christ.
