  1. Would you agree if we stay up he’s proved himself? Yes.
  2. 80% possession and only 2 shots on target? He did a job. Functioned well as part of a unit..
  3. Credit to the players. To a man they ran and ran and ran and ran. There were some heavy touches bringing the ball forward and Longstaff could have found a way to square up the two runners but the effort that had been missing was there. I don't think the club misses Shelvey. He's a liability defensively which heavily outweighs any offensive contributions. Joelinton played big. Showed good first touch and was effective when he kept the ball moving. Almiron's hard work will start showing on the score sheet. It's time to sit Ritchie for Willems. I've long been a fan of Ritchie but lets face it, he doesn't have the physical aspects we need at the position. There isn't anything he does good enough, IMO. Good win for Bruce but he still has a lot to prove.
  4. I'm not Rafa Benitez I'm Stevive fookin Brewce Sorry!
  5. Back when Hughton was binned, I heard from a reputable acquaintance that Chris is a full on Communist. Apparently he collects Che Guevara stuff and wears a shapka when it's dead cold. According to my source, Hught had been making his mouth go behind the scenes and was calling for a worker's revolution amongst the players and the lasses at the Donnay shop. In many ways the best black manager in the world was the ideal man for fat Ash, as he could make a loaf of bread last a fortnight, and could make Kevin Nolan look like a Premier League player. Ultimately though, a class of ideologies meant that Commrade Chris had to go. Did Midhat tell you this?
  6. I really like Chris Hughton. He's not a top manager but he is all class. I'd have him back but not under Fat Mike. Wouldn't wish that on him again.
  7. Cabbage head will spend the entire game looking baffled with an occasional screaming and waving fit.
  8. Nothing about this purchase makes sense to anybody on the outside looking in. There has to be something dodgy for Ashley to get this deal done. Five years from now when someone's offices get raided, Joe Linton's name will come up.
  9. Brewcie will pick the club up by its own bootstraps. Bet he's already regretting leaving Ginger Jack off the 25 man.
  10. One man is world class manager. The other man owns a club that admitted to a tribunal that they have lied and mislead. It's not even close as to who I would believe.
  11. Charley wipes up the smegma.
  12. Was on the fence, re: subscribing the The Athletic but I had to read that article so I gave in...
  13. Weak as piss pass and the new guy was caught flat footed. Shame on both
  14. Jack Colback. I'd do a swan dive off the tallest building I could find.
  15. After watching today the club have the pieces to be a midtable team. They're chess pieces though and Bruce can only play checkers. He has to drop the 3 man midfield. Longstaff needs space to be at his best and 3 men crowd him out of the game. Shelvey is a few steps too slow and lacks the anticipation to make up for his lack of quickness. He's a liability defensively and adds too little on the ball. I like what I saw from Joelinton. He works hard, has all the physical tools but is still raw. I'd love to see him develop under Rafa. Almiron centrally behind him and ASM on the right a little wider could be fun to watch. I used to love Ritchie but he's past it. Wingback is no place for him. Willems has to get a run of games. I am very concerned that, lacking the tactical noir to fine tune and tinker with the talent, Bruce will seek his comfort zone and the club will morph to a bog standard 442 with players shoehorned into suffocatingly banal positions. We'll probably never see the 5-2-3 formation the team needs to play.
  16. Window would have been much better if Rafa was still in charge.
  17. I'm really hoping Brewcee plays 3 attackers and 2 CM. Atsu and Ritchie for sure can play attack off the CF and I think Muto has played that way in addition to CF. Edit: so we have somewhat adequate back up for the advanced positions
  18. Little more difficult because of the relegation/promotion difference but licensing $ could be rolled into the parachute payments I would assume.
  19. I could see the fatherly hand on his shoulder as he whispers instructions into his ear just before he pats him on the fanny as Carroll jogs onto the pitch... ...and rolls over his ankle.
  20. how many senior players do we have that have to be registered? 30? Some have to go surely.
