6 years ago to the day that we limped out the old UEFA Cup at Alkmaar. Mental.

Had 2/3 winners last night: £3 on Cisse FGS returning £18, £5 on NUFC to win in 90 minutes returning about £11.50 and I had £3 on NUFC to score a penalty which obvs I lost out on.

I think it's good for young players to be 'dipped in' and then taken back out again. He won't get ahead of himself and also he'll have the chance to really tweak his game in training based on his appearances earlier on in the season. Dependent on the summer transfer ins and outs I'd quite like him to take half a season in a good Championship team where he'd start every week. He's going to be a real star IMO and he will need regular games by the time next season comes around.

Anyone who is saying he's not good enough can fuck off. He's an excellent little player and he should be in the team ahead of Tiote at the moment.

Based on very little other than a hunch I reckon we'll get Kazan. I really hope we get Basel though, probably the best draw we could wish for.

He had almost as limited service as the Stoke game tonight and yet he was much, much better in his general play. A vast improvement, and we can put the Stoke game down to him being ill and missing the Thursday, because he was good again tonight. Once again, a late goal, great to see that he doesn't give up and keeps trying right to the death even if he's not had the chances he'd like.

I dunno if it's cos I've had seven pints, but I swear that free kick near the end he saved with his forearm? Everywhere that's done a match report keeps saying it hit the bar...

I have spent months and months whining about how shit he has been, so I have to say that he was pretty excellent tonight.

I didn't think he could put in a worse showing than the shower of s**** he served up at the Emirates last season, when used as withdrawn forward. However he managed to top that last week, same deficencies were on show. I don't think he's improved at all. He was nowhere near as bad on Thursday as that Arsenal game, although I agree that was his worst game for us.

I'd rather watch Keane's unfriendly and slightly vexed punditry than the likes of Lee Dixon and Gareth Southgate who manage to bunny away about something or other whilst not actually saying anything remotely insightful. They're so bland.

That may be, but when Krul sees Elliot playing well and gaining plaudits, that will prevent him becoming complacent. Not that I think he's the sort of character who would be, like.

He has improved this season imo, compared to last season. He's still largely quite poor, but he looks better. No point making a loss on him, I'd keep hold unless someone's daft enough to offer us good money.
