    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Still confident we get done what we need to get done (4 in) by the deadline, but it would have been nice to even get one or two of those back for pre-season starting. Must be a bit shit as a player when you come back from the summer and there's only faces missing from when you left without any new ones added. Both in terms of the mental state of this forum & also those in the club, getting the first one done will be a huge relief and a massive boost, I reckon. Just need to wait for it to happen. I assume the club pushing out more content and quotes from Eddie etc next week will give everyone something to focus on other than the musings of Baldy and the other know-nowts for a bit too.

let them enjoy their little flurry of signings, it'll be the high point of this entire season. They'll be a go to destination for Championship footballers in just under a year's time.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Perhaps we could see if Anal Oliver could come out of retirement for one day only to tell us that the Scalvini reports are "wide of the mark" to make a change from Puke scuppering it.

Bez mentions that on Undr the Cosh, he says Ginola came from PSG's own training centre to sharing a dressing room with whoever had been in to play badminton - "Who is zis? Zis is my changing room!" - but other than remarking about it a few times that he wasn't arsed and cracked on with it like the rest of the lads did.

    João Pedro

Hope he enjoys being a bit part player and being loaned out somewhere crap next season when they spend another 60mill on the next flavour of the month.
  6. You get the impression that Eddie would fill in as tea lady if he thought it was going to improve the club or the team. I'm sure he's more than happy and capable to be "at the coal face" supporting with getting key deals done if he needs to be. He will have wanted players in by now you'd think, but he'll also know the market is slow and tough and having what we need by the time it shuts is what's most important.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Any news of any PL teams needing to scramble to sell tomorrow? I know there were vague whispers of Villa and West Ham earlier in the window but are they still needing to get rid of some?

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Eddie's comments after Everton about us needing to move quickly have definitely set everyone's expectations that we'd have done something by now. Trafford seems to be almost done, if we can then move along one of the others by mid-July we're probably about on target with time left to work on the other 2-3. It does feel frustrating and the constant re-hash articles from know-nowt journalists serve only to wind people up, but we've just got to trust and hope that once we get into July and a fresh PSR window, the market starts to move a bit quicker.
  10. The levels shown by some of these U21 lads and you've got Tommy Toucher picking fucking Henderson.
  11. Stanfield and Beadle are so far off the standard of the rest of them it's ridiculous.
  12. The keeper got a little hand on that.
  13. Should be two nowt if we had a proper striker.
  14. Get in. Harvey Elliott at it again

I think that'll end up being a good signing. They need six or seven more of that quality to give themselves a fighting chance of staying up.
  16. Baldy says pretty much done, Downie says lots still to do. It's almost like they're guessing.
  17. Yeah, I remember being really encouraged after that draw against Southampton on the opening day, we looked good. It was away from home we got exposed a lot, we were just so soft-centred and lacked any kind of authority or ability to physically impose ourselves onto a game. 7 goals in 15 away games under SM and miraculously we won two of them - a late smash and grab at Spurs and at Bournemouth where we scored early and Rob Elliot randomly turned into Lev Yashin for the day.
  18. With McClaren, you could at least see what he was trying to do with regards to a tactical plan and playing a more expansive game through the midfield, the execution was just unbelievably poor and the squad was a disinterested rabble of self-serving mercenaries with hearts the size of peas. By all accounts a great coach but lacking the personality and clout as a manager to get the team to execute his plan well enough. I do think the whole "grin and say we were magnificent even when we've just been thumped" thing was him trying to protect his players, but it just got old very fast. He was shit but he wasn't a cunt like Bruce, just a nice bloke miles out of his depth who rightly wouldn't have had any other PL job at that point.
