Seems a low fee on the face of it but if Eddie/Nickson etc haven't earmarked him as top priority, happy for us to pass on the deal. They'll know better and hopefully will secure a top target in the position.
-
Feels like the right time for him to move, he's well and truly a fringe player now and Miley is often preferred to come on ahead of him. He's done incredibly well for us and I'd love to see him establish himself in another Premier League team, because he's definitely good enough to do so. At his best he's a one man engine room for your midfield and in the right setup he'll chip in with a few goals.
-
Really hope he goes there just to blow all the Man U shit talk out of the air. I'd love us to go for Kulusevski on the back of that move, doubt it'd happen but would be mint.
-
Aye, he'll get a bit of a later start to pre-season anyway for playing in these games. Good experience for him to be there.
-
Parker I suppose he's got similar hair to Frank, that'll help with continuity in the manager role.
-
Be great to get this sorted, we've clearly wanted him for a while and it's another one of those signings where if we've got it right, which I'm confident we will have, he could have that position nailed down for us for the next 5-10 years.

Our very own Krafu, funnily enough. Spent a season on loan at Amiens, signed permanently for them in July and then we bought him two months later.

What a ball that was

£29m is an absolute steal, if true we should be right all over that like a shot.

Frank (Thomas, not Fat) to Tottenham verbally done according to a few of the rags. Going to stick my neck out early and say that he'll improve on Ange's bin fire, but ultimately be absolutely nowt special and probably get them scratching around 8th-10th.
-
Personally would want a more technical player, as I think he's an electric pace on the counter type and where we sometimes struggle is against sides sat in against us at home. Then again, if Eddie wants him I'm for it. We basically don't miss on transfers.
-
Calling it now, Ange will get the Leeds job when Farke is inevitably potted 12 games into the season.

Third season is better than the second, mate!

Back in the day you'd usually see a back page headline and accompanying puff piece about Shola's latest comeback from injury - "IT'S SHO TIME" or "LET'S GET THIS SHO ON THE ROAD" to fill the summer column inches. Bet they were gutted when he left.

Rodrigo Muniz being linked from Fulham

Of course they are

I get what @Shearergol is saying re: Elanga. When I think about that glut of mid-table teams who did us at home this season (Brighton, Everton, Fulham, Bournemouth, West Ham), we probably needed that technical "door opener" player who could unlock a deep sitting defence more than we did pace, speed strength. And Elanga probably isn't that. But... like @Kid Icarus points out, if Eddie wants someone, unless he's signing someone with one leg it's incredibly difficult to doubt they'll be a good signing in the end, even if it's not someone of the profile or type that we as fans might think is the answer. My only fear this summer is that we end up not getting anyone again, rather than signing the wrong players or making poor signings. But I don't think we will end up not getting what we need, I think we add those 4 key signings we've all discussed.
-
Disappointed he's going to Man U, hope he's absolutely shit for them. Clearly more bothered about money and we don't need that kind of player, we need someone who wants to actually achieve something. Glad it won't drag on all summer. Wonder who the alternative RW targets are?
-
@Alan Pardew would be perfect for this.
-
Magnay resigns from Gateshead. Got a really ominous feeling about the season ahead. They could have made it and gone up last two years, doesn't feel like that'll be on the cards this year unless there's a seismic shift over the summer. Wonder if they'll try get Willo or Elliot back?
-
I don't love this as a signing, but I'm alright with it. If it means we can go flex our spending muscles on GK, CB and RW as a result then it's a very sensible pickup.
-
If you were to ask me to name three Brazilian footballing geniuses, I probably wouldn't say Pele, Ronaldo... you know. I'd go Igor Jesus, Cuiabano, Jair Cunha.
-
That's a good upgrade in goal for Brentford and good business with the numbers on both deals. Never been fully convinced by Flekken and Kelleher I think will come to the fore as a proper no.1.
-
I think £60m for Mbuemo is about right, depends if we're able to balance that with the other signings we need to make from the overall budget though. No good if we still don't get a centre back or a keeper.

Given that Eddie is never keen on too much turnaround in a transfer window, my thinking was we'd sell one of Willock or Longstaff this summer depending on the relative fee we could get. Rumours have been put out there suggesting Fulham will cough up £25m for Willock, whereas Sean with a year to go on his deal would fetch probably south of £10m you'd think. I feel like it's unlikely both of them go this summer because Eddie prefers gradual change to his squad, so if there's a club willing to pay around that fee for Willock I'd expect he might be the one to go before Sean does. I actually think both will stay. As for who replaces that spot in the squad if one goes, we've not really been linked with many centre mids this summer other than loosely Ramsey from Villa. As Rich said there's a chance we think Joe White can contribute as 6th choice CM and bump Miley up in the pecking order. I know the journalists generally are scattergun at best when it comes to transfers but the one thing that's consistent in what they're saying is "3 or 4" first teamers incoming. We're fairly sure it's a keeper, a centre back, a right winger and a striker. A centre mid isn't really mentioned and the idea of going into a season with extra games a body lighter than we are now doesn't seem sensible.
